Honestly I wouldn’t mind having shit animation in the early stages bc before isagi gets meta-vision it’s a bit hard to get through since we leave off season 2 with isagi being the best to him struggling. It makes sense though considering who he’s playing with
We all know 3rd selection was bad but I think that even if it was decently animated like s1 no one would even be talking about it since it would always get overshadowed by the main draw of the season aka the U20 match. Even manga readers dont look back at 3rd selection so I'm fine with this "loss" and obviously the anime staff were aware of 3rd selection's relevance. No one could force me to care as much about that prelude to U20 in any version
idk if you are just exaggerate but while i agree that the Nagi movie damaged ss2, to say no one gaf about Nagi is wild since he’s the most popular character to anime only audiences in ss1 and you can clearly see how much success 8bit is at grabbing money with it based on its revenue 💀
To be honest, I really did love the final episode of Blue Lock. But I don't think it's right to say it's "redeemed" the season. I would rather them not take this approach for the following seasons. 8-Bit now has realized that this is a winning formula and is going to try and min max every one of their projects, which is just a sad reality that is devoid of any passion and is just an obvious cash grab where the anime onlys will have to suffer through mid and ass episodes while the manga fans will just tune in for the good episodes. This is the likely approach they'd take from now on but at the same time I really wish they'd just make the whole show at least "watchable" since they already showed they have the talent required.
