My lly has vps and when I'm towing and come to a red light it will switch to the rumble, then back to the hiss idle. Love my lly not tuned only deleted with 5inch straight pipe
believe it or not i had a 06 lly and it was hiss tuned ooh boy did i love the sound of it ( sadly sold it a month ago as i had to move and parking that friggin boat of a truck in a small garage was not possible)
Again sound sick. Finally just picked up my 07. Any chance you can reply back with the tune they used being able to switch your hiss/rumble. Or to the right shop possibly. Thanks
My uncles truck is an lly and he has a hiss tune on his but won’t do the his at a regular idle and I had an lml that would hiss but it would do it on its own and I had no hiss tune just a plug and play tuner
My LLY sounds like a F-22 Raptor, and my rumble sounds like your "hiss." What tune (programmer) did you use? Might want to look more into it. Beautiful truck tho bro!!!
@@NaztyNate only one problem with the hiss if you have a higher mileage truck even 200k like mine at idle the hiss vanes close and if they don’t open back up to the proper % after idle it can blow your turbo found that out from experience
With the lb7 if youd change the turbo wouldn't you be able to do this then? I've got a crew cab shortbed squarebody that I'm building and I'm building an lb7 for it, I want the rumble that you typically find in the lml
The lb7 has a rumble idle naturally. You'd have to put a VVT turbo on it to make it switch from rumble idle to hiss idle. The lb7 doesn't come with a VVT factory
@@NaztyNate alright, I've noticed the lb7 has more of a higher pitched rumble with more engine noise in the exhaust, I'd be looking for that lower pitched rumble, I'd looked into the stealth 64mm but can't find anything on how it effects the sound
@@joshcrosland8733 well they must've made that as an excuse. That ticking is a known thing for many Duramax owners. Some oils will make it more quiet but it's still there
I've got a LBZ thats deleted and tuned with a DSP5 switch. I generally keep it on the fuel economy tune. Mine switches from hiss to rumble periodically while idling by itself. Is that normal?
Personally I like the rumble better
I agree it sounds mean!
Same
Fun fact, you can add a switch to the LBZ pcm and enable turbo braking. You can add another switch and enable high idle mode.
Actually high idle is programmed in it from the factory!
@@NaztyNate it is, but only in cold weather, and one speed. With the switch I can turn I on at will, and bump the speed up to (i think) 2000 rpm.

Lmao wait till there's a riot there
LLY does this too.
I thought so.. just wasn't 100%
Nate ,,,sick truck bro. Want to trade lol. 02f350 dually lariat leather captains 7.3 powerstroke. Turn key. I'll deliver it.
Thanks for explaining this. These contractors roll up in a truck that sounds the same and I've always wondered how to get that sound.
For sure! It's crazy how much different it cam sound
Are those head lights good quality? If so could you send me a link to them
Mine has more of a rumble but I recently put a 65MM garret turbo on it so now it’s both kinda the same
I would want hiss on my LLY dirtymax
believe it or not i had a 06 lly and it was hiss tuned ooh boy did i love the sound of it ( sadly sold it a month ago as i had to move and parking that friggin boat of a truck in a small garage was not possible)
I quit listening when he said you couldn’t do that with an lly
Those wheels just hit different💦
Thanks man 🤟

@@michaellevenduski7263 no problem! Any tuner should be able to do that if you ask
Do you find any turbo lag starting from stopped with the rumble tune?
Not at all. It changes almost instantly
VGT Learn.
What tune do you recommend purchasing for off-road diesels. I'm trying to get the Hissing sound, but all 5 of my tunes are the Rumble Idle
Lly is in fact a participant in this feature
Correct, actually all duramax except lb7
lly came with the first vvt turbo and the biggest turbo of all duramx!
Yessir! I forgot they had the biggest!
.... And the smallest radiator
I love that hissing sound man. I sure wish my LB7 had variable veins so I could get that sound.
I'll trade ya😂.....not really but ill be looking to buy a ccsb lb7 soon! Lb7s are sick man.
Lol I can’t wait to see it brother. I’ll be waiting. Give me some more ideas lol😎
Same here! Hiss all day
Hiss tune becomes so incredibly annoying
I agree, I kept it on rumble most of the time
Truck looks really clean. I didn’t think I would like it without the black fender flares but now I don’t think it would look right WITH them! Lol!
Haha right! No goin back now 😂 thanks man!
Thanks was really wondering why my neighbors truck does this hiss. I walk by it every day. I nicknamed the truck whistling Dixie.
That wheel/tire selection was a mistake.
Lol!!
So my lly rumble and hiss off and on at idle annoys the shit out of me but it’s not tuned and only cat delete

I have a 2005 duramax it has the lly and it is tuned and straight piped axle dump and it hiss and rumble mostly hiss tho
If you change the vein position sensor do you have to get a re tune or is it fine to replace
Good stack it
Hood
I really want to. I've been looking for a second hood to use
I’m a sucker for the hiss! It’s why I got the lbz! That and the trans 👍🏼
It's hard to beat these trucks!
my brothers lly will hiss/rumble depending on what tune he is on
So I just got a lmm and it has both but no switches?
Mannnn this is a BADD ASS TRUCK!!!!!!
Thanks man!
LLY makes that sound too
Yes it does

They are Alcoa super singles off a semi truck! They were machined down to 22 to run regular tires
What tuner do you have and what tunes.?
Thought my 5.7 sounds like the rumble tune
What exhaust are you using? I’m trying to find one for the same cab
I don't remember the brand, but they don't make a kit for the single cabs, just have to make it work
My lly has no tune but it will randomly do this at idel or sometimes stop at a stop light it will hiss
Yup! That's normal! It's programed to cycle back and forth to make sure they don't stick.
So this morning i took my lbz out and it did both but now it doesn't. Whats wrong? i want to have both
It will do that when it's warming up, you have to have it tuned to do it when you want
What wheels are those and specs?
What a chad.
Actually it's nate!
Thank you very much.
They call my Nasty Nate at work! That makes two of us! I got a black lmm. Pretty bad ass
Thats how I got the name! My previous work people started calling me that! Lol that's awesome
Is yours a 305hp or 365hp lbz? Does your 60hp tune only bring you up to 07 classic tuning?
365...VIN code D is all 365
Nice overview
Nice job bro
who's tuned do you have ? truck sounds awesome
This was Ridge Runner but they don't do tunes anymore
we just got a 2008 10inch lift and it was the hiss idle big time
You can do this with any truck with a vgt turbo with efi live

What the little button next to the switch for?
I believe you are seeing the screw that holds part of the dash together
Oh ya that is just a screw!🤣🤣
Functionally what is the difference though, like what are the benefits for each besides sound?
Nothing besides sound. Its tuned to go back to normal at 800 rpms so its just the idle sound.
