Is the Falcon 2 a machine you would recommend? Seems a little underpowered on paper at least, but I hear the air assist is really good? What would you recommend for engraving steel knives?

I tested it did you watch both parts 1 and 2 of my review I would not call it underpowered at all. Yes it has a great air assist. But if your intention is to engrave steel even though it can do it I would look to a 2 Watt IR unless you can afford a fiber laser they are far better for metal, but good ones start around 6K A diode that has a 1064 2wat IR can do nice engraving on knives. I have two that can do it my Xtool S1 and my Laser Pecker 4 also the Xtool F1 can do it too but I don't own one so can't say much about it. How to pick would also depend on how you intend to use it. Are you a knife maker looking to put you mark on knives or are you just looking to do engravings for customers like I do for lots of chefs and edc owners ? If you ake knives I would say the Xtool S1 and then add on the 2W 1064 IR Head My reason is you could do buck blank engravings with it. If its just doing names and such then the Laser Pecker 4 or the Xtool F1 would be the way to go. Here is a link to ones I like amzn.to/3TsLvFD

@@ALXSHARPEN Okay that is great advice, thanks! I do have CNC/ 3D printer stuff and am looking to fill the holes of their shortcomings, thinking that laser and/or a mini-lathe would be a logical next step.
Doing stuff like modifying, making new parts, scales etc mostly for fun, but as far as I understand no laser is great at everything? Dont have enough experience with them but ive been told that one good at cutting may be bad at engraving and they are good at different materials and such. Very hard to pick!

@@kvernesdotten yes exactly my 40w XTool is a fantastic cutter and it’s a good engraver the fact that you can swap the 450 NM laser out for an IR module is awesome so it can engrave metal really well. The Falcon is fantastic at engraving and good at cutting it does very nice detail work especially on wood so you are correct when I started I thought one was all I would need now I have 3 😆 because they all have different things they are great at the XTool S1 in my opinion is the most versatile and if they start selling the 20 watt module separately you can have one laser that’s really 3 lasers if you buy all the modules it can run in it. If I could only have one it would be the XTool S1 for me but fortunately I can have more than one.
