As a kid me and my siblings swore this was the best ride on the face of the planet lol we made our parents ride it over and over again. Now me and my husband took our son on it this past weekend, we hadn’t rode it since we were kids. I’m not as adventurous as I used to be and felt instant regret hopping on this thing lol but the nostalgia made it all worth it and we had a blast!
I've been going to Busch Gardens fro over 20 years. There used to be twice as much fire but I'm guessing they toned it down due to complaints. Omg its so hot in there you can't wait for that splashdown.
I'm glad to see this ride is still up! As a little kid that was in love with all things history, I would ride this over and over until my family told me I needed to move on. One time they even left me alone at the ride because I was re-riding it so much lmfao.
@@MrDucky-iy9qd second statue fire, ceiling fire, mist at the end of the show building. Heck, they even got rid of the Pompeii Tours advertisement signs that were in the queue.
@@thisismyaccount6174 they turned it off, and it hasn’t operated with that effect since I believe 2021 or 2022. Hopefully, it returns for Pompeii’s 30th year!
This was one of the best themed water rides I had been on. Yes it is short, but those fire effects were amazing, and you felt it too! There were collapsing beams too! Great ride. Amazingly my wife and I didn't get very wet on it. I think we went on it only twice. The second time we did get more wet, but luckily it was one of our last rides of the night before we left the park.
I said the very same thing with this ride. The little dip into the show building is what gets you the most wet and the major drop just gets you sprayed. My feet were soaked after that little dip
Just got back from Busch Gardens. I guess I showed up too early in the season for Pompeii to be running. It's a shame, because that's my favorite ride!
Wow, memories from my first and only trip to Bush Gardens back in 99 for our band and choirs trip! I rode it a couple of times and "accidentally" bumped my head on the cute guy sitting next to me on the ride😊.
That mini drop after the lift is horrible! I rode it as my last ride before doing an hour drive to the next hotel (was on vacation) and had SUPER soggy shoes! 😂😂😂 totally worth it though, such an awesome ride 👏
I really enjoyed this ride. Years ago, I went during my 8th Grade School Class Trip. We ended up riding with some Chinese tourists who kept taking photos on the ride. They finally stopped when the ride stopped near the drop. After someone on the intercom stated no photos during the ride several times. As soon as the ride started back up... they began taking photographs again. One of my friends shouted at them once we got off. One of the tourists didn't like what he said. In the end, we just laughed and moved on.
When I rode this for the first time, I immediately fell in love, after that, every visit here, I was like, "Let's go ride 'Escape from Pompeii' first" 😅
My nephews and myself sat in front yesterday 05/08/23 and before it started someone yelled your shoes will get soaked and sure enough that first dip when you get inside we were splashed ( my 9 year old nephew was eating it up ) we had a blast riding it
i rode this when i went there last week and the fire went in my eyes and i didn't know we were about to drop and i got so scared but it was really fun! i was absolutely soaked because i was on in the very back in the 1st seat so i got the most water 😭 but next time ill go on this again!
I'm 3 hrs North of Williamsburg, here in Northumberland County, VA . I haven't yet ridden this ride . Thanks, for sharing !! I'm , also a new subscriber !!
Is it just me who thinks the fire being before the drop is weird? The Fire warms you up inside the building and then you immediately get drenched and cold again after the drop.
Went to watch another video from years ago, and from the sounds of the riders I think you just can't see it, BUT have they made it less of a drop?? I didn't think it looked as intense as when I was a kid 😂
my friends are inviting me to both bush gardens and kings dominion and I really want to try the (Loch ness monster one, the paradise plunge one, the flight of fear one, the drop tower one, the project 305 one and the darkoaster one.) if I have more ill edit it

They do a great job with the water treatment. Never seen a water ride where the water looks that clean and blue
Yea, I've Been On This Ride A Couple Times & Never Remembered The Water Being That Clear lol
The reactions of the riders is more interesting than the ride itself.
how.
I love the ride but good god that fire is always way too hot and you feel it!
This is very terrifying.
I love this ride too! It's hot in there!! 🔥

Great themed water ride, if a tad short
Very nice.
Can’t wait for the updated Loch Ness Monster and Alpengeist POVs, those are my favorite roller coasters in BGW!!

I like the idea of warming you up before the splash. They should have a small section after the drop to "dry" you off haha.

went on a band trip today, and road this 8 straight times
So it doesn't have the statue that "falls" on you anymore?
My family loved the ride
Do you know when this ride opens for the season?
Everyone complaining about how hot the fire is. If memory serves correctly, the actual people in Pompeii had it a little worse....
This ride has never been open when I go lol

The fire way to hot bro tbh
The one small female scream followed by a guy boringly saying OMG.. is hilarious
short but nice
