Immigration wouldn't be an issue if we weren't a welfare state. There are tens of millions of American-born people who do not contribute to society and live off of our welfare system; why doesn't he address that major fiscal drain rather than use immigrants as a scapegoat? If you lose your job to someone who came to the freest nation on earth illegally, then maybe you weren't that great at your job in the first place.
Minimum wage is a byproduct of the welfare state and harms our economy much more than it helps it. If you lose your job to an illegal immigrant/undocumented worker, then your quality of work was not worth more than what your competition is producing. That is capitalism at its finest and us American workers need to get our stuff together to remain competitive in the 21st century.

The fact of the matter is that minimum wage and other welfare programs negatively effect native-born Americans and inhibits competition in the labor market. If you produce better or equal quality of work that I do, yet I ask for $7.25/hour whereas you ask for $5.00/hour, then why on earth would an employee hire me over you?
