From what I understand lanzar went bankrupt just two or three years ago and was bought out by a Brazilian company who also bought the rights to continue using the lanzar name. That is why you won't find any current website or information when you search for lanzar 👌👍
@@wal at least that is the information I was able to find online. Random question for you though, I have a 3000 watt hifonics Brutus 1 ohm stable amp that burnt up during a comp sitting in my closet, would you like to have it? I have no use for it 🤷
When you showed this on FB I kinda figured it would be a solid little amp. Banda seems to be pretty good at delivering the numbers they say. Why are Brazilians so afraid of 1/0 wire tho?! Lol
@@wal I am stuck on old school style set ups. What I mean by this is I have 100% stock electrical and prefer low watt/high efficiency subs with 1000 watts amp or less (usually 300-600 watt amp). I go overkill with my wire just to be safe and use 0 guage with these 4 guage reducers like you used here. My question to you is does the voltage getting to the amp suffer from these reducers like this? My thought process tells me no because the reducer is so close to the 0 guage and is 100 percent metal. Thoughts?
A girlfriend gave me a nice 4 channel Lanzar amp way back in the day. This being before the internet, I had no idea what it was. Thought it was a flea market brand! It sounded great pushing mids and highs

First of all, there’s SUB & then BASS… so 2 bass boost knobs or…? Not to mention the 4 gauge inputs… definitely going with the Soundstream even tho it clips at 2200 watts @ .5 ohm… im just hoping I don’t blow my shit up trying to get that 4400 RMS
I used a lot of banda beat 3001, for the midhighs i think is the best amp for run it. i tested a lot of 3k's brasilian amp and the banda is the better sounding and performing on midhighs speakers :)

To better understand how we can use and implement this data. Thanks & Cheers
I love these cheap amp vids😊 I'm curious if you shoot the low impedance/max power vids first, then reverse the order to keep the battery bank voltage up?
I remember back in the day I bought a Lanzar 12" sub that came in a wooden box with a combination lock. It was an OptiDrive 12" and that thing absolutely SLAMMED on it's own. Edit: this was before Lanzar sold it's rights to whoever (or before they went out of bidness and someone just took over the name).
I still have one 🤣. Brand new in the box. It's a wooden box with a red velvet inside. Never got around to installing it. Then I just put it in the closet
Back in about 1992 to 1993, Lanzar made some hatchback boxes, that were crazy good sounding. The one I had two 15" subs, two 4 or 5" mids, and 2 horn tweeters.... the subs were angled up towards the top, but on about a 30 deg angle. There were 4 decent sized ports along the bottom. I sold it, when I sold the car. Does anyone have any pictures of that box, or have any information on it???
It would be interesting to see a ampometer on the speaker leads of all the amps you test. As you know there are two ways to make wattage,1) high voltage/lower current or 2) low voltage/higher current. Right there is how new amps produce so much "power". Back in "The Golden Age" a 500 watt amp was the same size as a 5000 watt now. However, the difference is current and voltage output. Current, not wattage, makes heat. There is no way the amps of today would survive producing stated "power" if they had the current output of old school amps. Also, current is what moves voice coils, not wattage, and why old school amps drive speakers just as or almost as hard as those made today. Back in the day I remember good amps stated "no current limiting" in their features. I doubt that's done now.
Cool video! Talking old school, I never hear anyone talk about Directed Audio from the late 90s early 2000s. Still some of the best and loudest systems I've heard was a 1100d on two L7 15s. Do you ever run across any ?
Feel like directed acquiring everyone was the end of the best brands out there. I had a viper 5 channel amp, it was okay I like the MTX RT 4405 it replaced better.
I had an l7 15 before I even got my first car lol. I got it In a trade at work thru one of my customers, it was practically brand new but also the size was huge after I settled on buying a small bmw coupe with little to no trunk space the decision to sell it became obvious. But before selling it, I wanted to play it for a couple months so I hooked it up to the only amp I had available to me which was my class ab Jl audio jx400/4 and I could barely get that thing to move 😂 that was the point I said screw it im done messing with this beast and I wasn’t about to buy another amplifier just for the sake of bumping it full blast just before selling it. I did finally get to see it flex in full motion one I met the dude up from Craigslist that came down to pick it up off my hands, the buyer had with him a hifonics monoblock which allowed me to finally see that square bahemouth flex once and for all lol. I believe I let him have it for 300 including the ported box lesson was learned that day. Big subs need lots of juice 😅😅
I see my man big d got that audio legion wiring going on lol im have the 0 gauge kit and the 1600.1 amp gonna get pick up a few more things before they completely sell out. Greadt vid by the way. That amp looks good. They could have coated the black lettering above the outputs in red to help see it better imo
@@jondoe6618 Yeah, while still a class A/B, they did their rated power. They would get hot if pushed hard but I rarely ever saw a failure. Hey Big D I like your videos and I also like low bass 20, 25hz. Have you tested on your own time to see how many amps do rated power when tested @ 20hz Instead of 40hz ? For example purpose I'm Currently running two Rockford fosgate T1500.1 bdcp amps the birthsheet shows 1938 Rms @1 ohm and the chart shows over 1500 at 20hz
great video i see if you click on the amazon link for this amp ans scroll down they have a 11k verson of this amp for 400 crazy wonder if they did better things with it or might be better to wait for 2nd verson if the come out with one but anywase ya thats the only way i could find the 11k verson could not find it searching on amazon or anyware but if that 11k reads right on dyno with no problems would be a steal maybe highest power for the money
Interesting. I like how they run 240 V in their car. They lived risky with fire. Arcing and sparking. I want to see the 600 V amplifier that thing will have the smallest wires going into it think of the cost savings of the materials.
love that you info the amp good and bad ,teching inside it is awesome you and bare vids thanks, i use some amps at the 4 ohm and 8 ohm, what u do is relavant, later
4ga wire is sufficient for most 3k amplifiers that have 4ga inputs. If you use a good quality of wire. It isn't so much about current, as it is about the wire's amperage load capabilities. My wife has a budget build for her daily, and I always use KnuKonceptz wire...and hers has 4ga ofc and performs flawlessly. Even full tilt on her drives to work, or when we just take drives, ir doing a demo..it never drops below 13.8v, and that's with just one xs power 7500, and a smaller xs under the hood. 👍

Brazilian amps confuse me as to accurately measuring their output. Brazilian amps ramp the voltage internally requiring less amperage. So is there a way to calculate that without opening up the amplifier?
Big D.. I have something old school I think you would love to have a look at {it is still factory sealed} and would like to send it your way. How can I go about doing that?
@@wal I basically bought it with you in mind for you to check out, and I want you to keep it. I will contact you with more details.Thank you for all the cool vids my friend...
Whatever happened to Lanzar... If you wonder where you'd need a big full range amplifier, you must have forgotten about how car audio is done in Brazil! Concert on wheels! Thump a hundred miles away!
@@NightshiftCustom that's just Facebook type talk and myth. Most all failure from Brazilian type full bridge, is user error. Be it, too much input signal voltage, where they think they all need 7v fed to them, improper ohm loads and vibration issues. All amplifiers can and will have problems. You know how many SALT amplifiers I have seen so far, with the transformers not even fully soldered or not soldered at all. I have yet to have any real issues from full bridge amplifiers, except one Taramps HD3k first version. They replaced it with a brand new unit way back then...and it has passed hands about 7 times now, and it has fallen back to me, and has been in my wife's budget build for over a year. Most of the "fire" comments are just typical misinformation spread by word of mouth. Any brand can and will fail, and spark a flame, smoke up a car...and so forth. Most of those failures, were people throwing 3k+ amplifiers, in vehicles with no upgraded electrical, and with 4ga CCA wire and the likes. I've seen it first hand, for years where people think that the size of those amps, means they don't need the electrical to back it up. 👍

But. I think i won on this one!!! Nice vid big D im glad your test of this amp exists because i would have been DEPRESSED if i didnt know it made this much power.
I have lazer speakers that are really good.. Even though they only cost 35 bucks a pair Full range component , come to the cross over to ,, people are pretty impressed when they hear them ... cheap were pretty good... Been using them in my car doors for the past five years.. I gave it a try I thought they had a good power rating on them for 35 bucks a pair I think it's like 200 W each 6 1/2
I watch you alot you should put out a list based on your test which amps in class gives best performance for full range and class d😊...thanks for entertaining me and helping me with shopping 😊
From what I understand lanzar went bankrupt just two or three years ago and was bought out by a Brazilian company who also bought the rights to continue using the lanzar name. That is why you won't find any current website or information when you search for lanzar 👌👍
Oh snap?
@@wal at least that is the information I was able to find online. Random question for you though, I have a 3000 watt hifonics Brutus 1 ohm stable amp that burnt up during a comp sitting in my closet, would you like to have it? I have no use for it 🤷
@@baltazard133T I'd like to have it. Had one years ago that blew I'm pretty familiar with it.
Very unexpected 8ohm balls on that little amp.
That is what the OG OpiDrive Lanzar's were famous for.
Wow lanzar back in the house amazing they been out of the game of car audio for a long long time though really?????
That Kicker box is nice AF. Like the black n red
Thanks Big D for another great video. Love the channel.
I'd rather pay a little extra for the Taramps smart 3 Bass to benefit from the new tech keeping it from blowing up. lol
When you showed this on FB I kinda figured it would be a solid little amp. Banda seems to be pretty good at delivering the numbers they say. Why are Brazilians so afraid of 1/0 wire tho?! Lol
I know the 4ga power and ground set bad example for people 🤦♂️
Because the amps are not designed to actually put out full power. They're designed with dynamic music and high impedance rise subs.
Agree, but a short piece of 4ga from a distro block wouldn't be a problem.
Thoughts?
@@bones40447 depends on the material of the reducer, if it is copper there would be no loss.
The white reminds me of the ZX series of Phoenix Gold.
As always, thanks for another nice video
A girlfriend gave me a nice 4 channel Lanzar amp way back in the day. This being before the internet, I had no idea what it was. Thought it was a flea market brand! It sounded great pushing mids and highs
I’m upgrading my system from 2 Rockville RXD-T2 amps (each separately powering a 2ohm sub @ 4 ohms bridged) to either a Soundstream t1.6000dl or this & I am so glad you posted this because I couldn’t decide until I saw those janky ass knobs.
Been watching these videos for awhile and for $200 I'm trying it ...actually i got it today 🤪thanks for the videos
Thanks for watching and commenting!
I had two lanzar 10's in a pyramid shaped box back in the mid 90's and they pounded!
I used a lot of banda beat 3001, for the midhighs i think is the best amp for run it. i tested a lot of 3k's brasilian amp and the banda is the better sounding and performing on midhighs speakers :)
😳 I'M SO USED TO LANZARS OLD SHELL
Cuts me up when a youngin brings a flea market lanzar amp to be installed these days. Lanzar USED TO MAKE some pretty killer stuff. Modern lanzar is "hood deal" junk.
Wow nice amplifier lanzar didn't expect that from you guys good job sounds really good with a good headset nuff respect Big D 👍 👍 🙏
Lanzar amp is very good amp had one 2k mono pushing two lanzar opti 12" very good amp and sub amp always run cool and good power output very good information bro
I love those old crossfire amps the cf amps I believe
I am running the banda electra 12k 1/2ohm version for months daily driven. Id love for you to review it. Its a power house at 1/2, 1, 2, even 4 ohms
Lanzar ftw! ( Old school Lanzar that is).
Old school Lanny is good fo sho
Back in the day, you would get clowned for having a Lanzar amp. But I never heard anyone say it broke. Unlike my old efficient Rockfords lol
Bullshit nobodys hating on opti 50 ,
Even their budget black vibe amps worked very well with no issues.
lies! Rockford Fosgate is top notch in the 20 years I have been buying and selling them I have only seen one Rockford amp die
they are built like tanks and will last you 30+ years hands down! That is there power line of amps of course not the prime models that were made to sell at best buy for cheap
the OG Lanzar was good stuff back in the day but was sold in the 90's I think and went right to shit like a lot of the other brands did
@@NightshiftCustom I am not trying to shit on RF, was never the brand I ran, but I have seen plenty of them take a dump. Every brand gets some duds. Some held up better to the abuse than others. I have one down in the basement that I can't recall if it works or not. Need to go test it and sell it. I got rid of all my nonworking stuff a while back and came across this one whine going through my other stuff.
2010 was part of team lanzar we went to world finals TNESPL as one of TEAM CARTUNES KUSTOMS
Thanks for all your video content and information. I have a question- which video, if you have prior, do you explain the difference in those bench test mode- certified, uncertified, etc. I’m pretty sure I understand dynamic as a “burp” style test (just guessing), but would you mind building that education into a video? To better understand how we can use and implement this data. Thanks & Cheers
Made a full video explaining
3 Modes of the Amp Dyno and Thoughts...
ua-cam.com/video/Q0m6NsB-HHc/v-deo.html
I love these cheap amp vids😊
I'm curious if you shoot the low impedance/max power vids first, then reverse the order to keep the battery bank voltage up?
No, typically I go from 8 ohms down. I just crank up my power supplies / chargers when the ohm load drops and current rises
I would love to get a pare of those subs they were my dream sub when I was a broke 15yr old lol
I still have one 🤣. Brand new in the box. It's a wooden box with a red velvet inside. Never got around to installing it. Then I just put it in the closet
bought that big blue lanzar amp back in 93 and still got it it was 800 bucks back then
The irfp448 is a 500v 6a fet, these are irfb448 40v vds and 120a. The irfb448's are very obscure
Kicker and Rockford also made those full range boxes back then 💪😎👍
Man I love some old school dj magic mike
Looking at upgrading from Hifonics Zues 1000.D which I’m guess only does about 5-600 max .. these 2-300 and are really tempting. Looking for 2-3k rms
Mesmo banda do Brasil
God I love these up loads!
Love these comments 😝
This is how Big D removes snow from his garage roof.
Do you have a video showing what your power-source is for running the dyno tests? Always amazed at seeing 14.xx volts at 300, 400, 500 amps! 😲
I have 320ah of Yinlong/XS Power LTO cells. 48 total cells in 6s8p configuration
What amp design is more forgiving to voltage sag?
No magic smoke.
Full bridge or half bridge design?
I see my man big d got that audio legion wiring going on lol im have the 0 gauge kit and the 1600.1 amp gonna get pick up a few more things before they completely sell out. Greadt vid by the way. That amp looks good. They could have coated the black lettering above the outputs in red to help see it better imo
That is an amazing amount of power for very little money.
Would live some old school lanzar, subs as well. Anyone else remember the 8 12's in a rx-7
amazing video man
Apparently there is a 15k variant of this as well, looks like the Banda 10k I had years ago with dual inputs.
To see the writing on the amp use whiteout as it usually flakes off
had a older lanzar vibe 1200 in the early 2000's. it was a great amp! Never had another lanzar product since. Great powah from this one tho!
The black vibe amps worked well and did their rated power. So many people abused the snot out of them and they hey kept on kicking.
@@bassntruck that’s what it was! Had it on 2 jlw4 12’s. It was loud for what it was!
@@jondoe6618 Yeah, while still a class A/B, they did their rated power. They would get hot if pushed hard but I rarely ever saw a failure. You would be hard pressed to find something better in their price range. I still have a few of the 220 and 230 models sitting around from back then. Great units to put on some highs.
your good at this channel
Just wanted to know, what does the fact that it didn't count up cleanly, translate to when your listening to music?
I have that same cutco knife! I bet you or one of your buddies sold them back in the day
Compared to 1980s
DANG THE PRICE
OHM LOAD NO PROBLEM
TONES OF POWER 😮😮😮
NOW DOWN SIZE THE SUBS OR MORE EFFICIENT BOXES AND YOUR
MISSION IS COMPLETE 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
I used to have a lanzar brute force Amp. It would blow every 15 inch sub I had
Um no he hasn't as the Dyno signal sees a 40 htz for bass and 1 khz for mids these are preset on the Dyno .
Great video. Is it safe? That's my question?
Would be nice from you to get finally Oscope to see some more info.....
Nice run Big D. Scared of Lanzar. Got burned when they went cheap. I think I'll pass. This amp is cheap with the dollars per watt.
great video i see if you click on the amazon link for this amp ans scroll down they have a 11k verson of this amp for 400 crazy wonder if they did better things with it or might be better to wait for 2nd verson if the come out with one but anywase ya thats the only way i could find the 11k verson could not find it searching on amazon or anyware but if that 11k reads right on dyno with no problems would be a steal maybe highest power for the money
Wow I'm impressed 👏
Interesting. I like how they run 240 V in their car. They lived risky with fire. Arcing and sparking. I want to see the 600 V amplifier that thing will have the smallest wires going into it think of the cost savings of the materials.
There are HV amps from Taramps, Banda and others
"This here is my favorite part!". 😁
What’s the best amp to run two JL Audio 12tw3 dual 8 ohm subs at 4 ohm? I need about 750 rms at 4 ohms… under $500.
love that you info the amp good and bad ,teching inside it is awesome you and bare vids thanks, i use some amps at the 4 ohm and 8 ohm, what u do is relavant, later
Thanks for watching and commenting!
The 4 gauge inputs crack me up! X-D

Big d great video again just a curious question I have to ask how you set the crossover during the test
I disable crossovers or set to the setting that will not interfere with the tests
@@wal thanks I have a Banda beat 3k and just wondering what’s the best settings to set the crossover I has mine turn off also and I’m using a beats 3k also on 8- 6inch b&c wired down to 1ohm and it does sound very loud. Thanks again for your response great video again keep up the good work dude
Wow! That is insane!
Banda version going for 138 currently idk should I get it before it’s gone …
More pro audio would be awesome 👌
Brazilian amps confuse me as to accurately measuring their output. Brazilian amps ramp the voltage internally requiring less amperage. So is there a way to calculate that without opening up the amplifier?
There's some dope, maybe more than one, who is calling them Taramps. Even though it says Lanzar on the product!
1:21 you could click advanced and it will let you continue to the website.

Wish this would of performed little better though lol
Back in my time Lanzar was top o the line or at least till the sold to Pyramid.

Nothing wrong with budget build options 🤙

while maybe till the car is on fire from it lol
