  • In this episode of "Targets" Simon takes you through the three different types of mount and how best to develop your chosen style.
Continuing the "workshop" style, Simon also looks at how you can slow the mind, to promote a calm and positive shooting technique.

Dear Fernandez, thank you for this, I'm so pleased you've got into the wonderful sport/ discipline of shotgun shooting, and what a lovely place to shoot too.
At this early stage, try different approaches to define your style, absorb information from others, but interpret in your own way!
So pleased we are of some guidance, I wish you the very best with your shooting journey.
If indeed to do fancy a small change in scenery, we are based in West Sussex on the Cowdray estate.
Best of luck with future outings,
      Simon🙏

Really enjoying the channel and content. We need to all support this most wonderful sport/hobby as I fear certain elements are trying to stop it!!

Sadly Dazzler, there are others that would certainly like to see it restricted. We must continue to maintain best standards at all times. As ever, with this type of situation, it is education that wins the day.....In the mean time, I'll attempt to maintain continuity!!!!
Thank you for the ongoing support.
      Best,
      Simon👍

This gentleman is the complete opposite of Ben Husthwaite in his videos. I enjoy this type of teaching much better. A nice common sense approach. 👍

Simon - great content as always! I’m across the pond in the U.S. and just getting back into clays after giving it up during COVID. So your content has really been invaluable for me as a refresher. You have a great presentation style and if I was a few thousand miles closer would engage you for a shooting lesson, but video will have to do for now. Thanks again for putting such great content out there for the love of the sport👍

Really kind words Kirk, thankyou indeed!! Yes, COVID did rather stop play for us all, however, I'm so pleased you've re-light the candle, so to speak and especially pleased that you find a value in our content!!
I'll keep playing the lottery and if I ever win, I'll fly you over myself!!!!
      Thanks again Kirk,
      With best wishes,
      Simon👍👍👍👍👍

That comment on timing is so true. When you watch someone else shoot, the birds seem twice the size and half the speed! Thanks for posting.

Absolutely loving these videos, I am new to clay shooting and find them easy to follow. Forgive me if this has already been done, but could you do a video explaining the different clays in sporting such as teal, going away etc as I don't quite know them all yet! Thank you

Please forgive me, I’m still learning this, but at the end you said “not shoulder first”. When mounting the gun, should you make contact with the cheek bone first, and then pull the stock into the shoulder?
