Method 10 actually worked for me!! Thank you.
Resetting my controller fixed the issue for me, thanks!
What did u use I can’t find anything small enough
@@Solosheps I believe that I used a sowing needle or some type of pin.
I found a post on Reddit that said to blow into the charging port. Like an old 64 cartridge! I used a soft (brand new never used) make up brush to gently brush out the port. Held the reset button for 10 seconds and plugged it in with a random USB-C charger I had and it worked.
It’s worth a shot ! The controller was dead and hadn’t worked for months.
Best of luck everyone!
Thanks, plugging it into a charger worked.
This video really helped me method 3 helped me a lot thanks for making this video
For some reason my controller doesn't want to charge unless it is plugged into a port on my ps5. I tried method 7 which didn't work and then I tried method 8. Method 8 works so I can continue to play on keyboard and mouse with my mouse plugged into the front.
I didn't realize the back port could charge my controller. Thanks for helping me out. Editing is amazing. Keep.up the great work!!!
I honestly think it‘s sad that Sony isn‘t able to launch a controller that is not completely bugged from the beginning
Part of it is because Sony is using cheap parts. Another is that they keep increasing the complexity of the components.
Had my PS5 for 3 weeks. Barely used the controller now it won't charge
@@grantx6 damn is it realy that bad?
Shit, it's happening to me on Xbox, sooner or later, the controller just doesn't charge right or stick drift issues. I know Nintendo definitely still has joycon drift issues. All gaming companies have great consoles but terrible controllers.
My girl bought me the ps5 controller and I opened it 3 weeks ago and my controller stopped working yesterday.
Resetting has helped. Thank you!
Amazing video!
Your first suggestion helped me.
I plugged in my battery bank to PS5 controller after I turned off the controller and the PlayStation 5. It is working like a charm now. Thanks for your help mate
Ty bro method 6 made my controller work
method 5 worked like a charm. Thank you so much. Almost wanted to buy a new usb cable, because i thought mine was broken.
It was my cable but i did what u said and tried to take it on and off blue tooth. Now it won’t reconnect. Thanks dude I’m worse off now than i was before your video
Thank you rebuild database worked for me
Using the usb port from the back helped, thanks a lot man. I was scared and thought I had to either get it repaired, or take it apart myself. This really helped thanks, also if anyone needs extra support just reply to me and I’ll try my best to help. I’m not that knowledgeable, but I know a couple things.
Hi, so my controller only charges when ps is on. Nothing else works, not even from phone brick
@@liviufleschin653same here I think it's the battery as when the wires were at certain angles the pad lights would flicker without the console on but I'm worried the port looks a bit looser than it should so not sure if to sell the pad or order a battery to try
@@darrenslater6327 I figured it out, I had to manually select from ps settings to change the controller when I put it to rest. It was set to do nothing. But thanks anyway
@@liviufleschin653 alright man I've ordered another pad and put that one up on eBay for repairs but I'll see it I can get it to connect to the console when the new one comes
@@darrenslater6327 I hope it works well
Thanks buddy my remote finally works😊
Resetting the controller worked Thankyou 🎉

That little reset button on the back of the PS5 worked for me 🎉

Rebuilding the Database helped me. My controller was stuck only charging to 2 bars

Thanks bro u saved me big time 😫 I had to blow some air and turn the USB cable . Hi from Ghana
NAWWW YOUR A GENIUS
Bro thank you
Thank you for the help
Thanks! What worked for me was to delete the Bluetooth controller and install it again.
My dad told he to charge my iPad with the ps5 charger bc my iPad charger broke and now my controller won’t charge but the first method helps bro thx
Connecting the controller using the urb port fromt the back helped me.
THANK YOU MANNN ❤️❤️❤️
Thanks so much man, I'm a bit embarrassed but I never thought about using my phone charger
So your phone charger DID work for it? Mine won't. I guess it's something with the actual remote then.
@@pm7095 YES, my phone charger plugged into the wall worked, while the same cable plugged into my Ps5 wouldn't charge.
Great video
Holy shit! I’ve just fixed my problem! Mine wasn’t charging at all! But I think I know why. I’ve been using my macbook charger to charge my controller because it charges faster, however I think it was too much power for the controller lol. I took my old controller (power button, x and diagonal pad worked only) deleted the one not charging, placed my ps5 in rest mode and then plugged the controller in. I held the ps power button on controller while holding the share button got a few blue blinks then next thing ya know I got an orange light indicating connection and not it’s charging! THIS WORKS
I've had a few situations where this happened and I simply unplugged the battery and plugged it back it and it was holding a charge again. Really strange. Most of the time it's because I leave my controller plugged into my pc and it drains the battery to zero overnight.
Thank you bro
Thanks man!
Had trouble from box opening, held the power button until it powered down, pushed the PS button on the controller to power up the PS5, updated firmware on controller. Started working properly after this.
When I put it in rest mode my ps5 controller just seems like dosent want to connect in front usb port got something wrong with the controller but its okay in the others
Thanks worked reset controller. Did not last long it seems this started on last update.
Thank you thank you thank you so much method 4 ment the world for me tysm
My controller will charge for hours but still be low and I can’t update the controller as the battery is too low
Thank you!
Thank you so much. The disconnect help a lot.
I just bought the ps5 and my controller doesn’t hold a charge since I charged it for over 3 hours
It lights up like its charging but i can have it charging for 3 days straight and still when i unplug it. It doesnt even have a bar on it. It dies 5 mins later. I dont get it. Its done that ever since i got it
Hi there. I have a problem with my Ps5 dualsense controller, its always with low battery, even after charging for multiple hours. When i unplug the charger it automatically turns off. Cant even update it cause battery is always low. I tried another battery and its the same, and the battery charges fine on another remote controller. Any thoughts of what it is cause i only can play with a powerbank attached to it? thanks in advance
there's an issue that I'm having with my dualsense controllers that I cant find anywhere else on the net. My controller noti shows it needs charging, if i put it to charge and lets say if i quit playing after 20mins, when I turn back on my ps5 it will show the battery indicator like its fully charged. Any idea why it does that? So if i start to charge it with the console on, I have to leave it until it is completed, even if i set it in rest mode right after start charging woth console on, and i go to rest mode, it will show like its done charging.
any help on this will be greatly appreciated , thanks.
Having this problem also sometimes it’s fully charged then sometimes it only works while while plugged in
My USB was set to 📴 fixed it thanks
yeah i was hoping i didnt have to replace the battery or maybe a way to get the battery to run again? damn, great video though
I have a really weird issue with one of my controllers. I just started doing it last night and has been doing it ever since. I was playing assassin's creed mirage at the time. I decided to turn the controller off while I went to the store. When i got back, i turned the remote on and noticed the left trigger was hard to press. At that time, i just said screw it, I'll use the other remote and charge this one. It wouldn't charge. My wife bought the PS5 an extra controller( the one that's not working correctly) and a charging base/stand with fans built in. It came with these little usb-c charging nodes that plug into the controller and are docked into the base to charge. It wasn't charging, like it didn't have a connection at all. I got the regular usb cable that came with the PlayStation and have been charging it that way, but since the trigger stays stiff any time the remote is turned on, it just rapidly drains the battery. I've essentially got 1 and a half controllers. I'm at a loss on how to fix it. Maybe a warranty replacement?
Resetting the bluetooth worked for me.
Awesome
Can you guys pls reply to me, my usb port was damaged i went to the shop and changed it and now when i plug it it doesnt charge but when i push the cable with my hand it does
I bought 2 new PS5 controllers but I’ve realised the problem isn’t stick drift my right thumb stick which controlls like the camera direction of where your looking starts swinging for some reason these are new controlelrs just bought the new models and it starts happening first game not sure what’s happening any advice
I believe that may be factory dust in the sensors. You may want to do some of the cleaning methods I've shown in my videos.
Bro my controller charge normally blink yellow but when i check the batrrey still one bar. Why ?? Must reset ?
Mine was fully charged still on the charger, I cut my game on…2 minutes later the notification popped up that it had been disconnected. Now nothing is happening when I try and use it. No flashing lights nothing. Won’t do anything
yeah the flip around trick is actually very useful. both sides of the USB C connector aren't the same, some USB adapters may tell you that one side is only USB 2.0 and the other is USB 3.0.
very important.
Cool. I did not know that. I figured the cord might have a short, and flipping it around just repositions the cord causing it to work again.
@@HowToX it could also be that.
my mom had the USB C of her phone melt and it would only charge one way.
It started as to many ports, so I tried charging it in my wall and it seems the controller or the charger is dodgy because it disconnects when I go to pick it up
What do you think I would need to do my controller saying it’s charging but it’s not what do u think is the best thing to do ?
Try the things in the video if you haven't already.
I've been having issues with my Razer charger. I've tested 2 separate brand new Dualsense controllers. I don't have a PS5. I use the controller just for PC only. I updated the controller firmware with Sony's official updater. Whenever I play a game for 3 hours or less and try to charge it on the stand: Both the controller and the stand will light up for 3 seconds and then both lights go out like nothing is charging. If I play a game for 4-6 hours or more: the stand WILL charge the controllers. So... you're theory about "the controller has to be at 80% or less to start charging" seems to ring true here.
Anyone else experience this?
My issue was resolved by resetting Bluetooth. Controller icon was saying it wasn't fully charged after resetting Bluetooth, the icon displayed full charge.
If your controller’s not charging, I found that my controller has a broken USB C port, it looked fine until I zoomed in with my phone’s camera, and long and behold! One of the gold pins was missing, hence it won’t work anymore
thank you
plugging into another usb port helped
Bro what to do when the controller showing it's charging and then after sometime when i check the battery level it shows 0%.
The indicator is off sometimes. Try the things in the video if you have not already.
You find a fix because all my controllers doing the the same and I got 4 controllers and two are only a week old
@@HdTap what fix it for me is i plugged the battery out and and let it rest for a time and blugged everything back to gether, and don't use phones fast chargers they mostly fuck up the controller lifespan and factionality use simple generic one.
@@hamzik2255 alright thanks I will try that
Everytime i tried to charge it while the PlayStation was on it wouldnt charge and it would say too many usb devices connected tried swapping the battery from my old controller worked for an hour then stopped working now the only way i can charge it is through the back of the console while it's in rest mode (the controller didnt charge from a usb port in the wall either)
My controller didnt charging up from all of 3 my usb inputs bit my hardcase want to grab it
What if it starts loading for a second then stops. My dual controller charger stopped working
Boys, mine wasn't charging whatsoever and I was using 3 different chargers, all USB to C. Nothing happened until i switched to a C to C charger, started charging like nothing happened. Don't know why this was a problem but nevertheless I managed to fix it. Hope this helps someone.
After i connect my dualsense to PC with usb cable type C, my dualsense not charge. Please help😢
I did method 5 and now it won’t connect at all, that’s great.
same i dont know what to do
Did you ever figured it out? I just did it and I can’t nothing.
@@smokeyrobinson7768 sorry, i don’t remember how I fixed it :(
My dual sense edge is doing this and I just got mine a couple days ago
Hey when I was charging it and it started to blink orange but then it blinked yellow once
Wow afters months of not using my controller I finally got it to work! Thank you so much! 🫶🏽
My ps5 is only 3 mos old and I'm having this issue,is there a hardwire controller that doesn't have to be charged?
You can get a long USB cord and just use your DualSense as a corded controller. I do it all the time. Yes, there are many wired controllers out there. I suggest looking for the quality ones sold at Best Buy or Target, and not the crappy cheap ones that flood Amazon.
I have to kinda push the lead up and in I bit more then it goes orange and stops
A little confusing but my controller is “charging” but whenever it’s disconnected it turns off, and in the hud menu it’s shows no bars for battery just the charging symbol, anyone else had this problem?
Yes I just just got my ps5 brand new last week so literally 7 days. For the preferred system and better seller this thing sure does have a Lotta issues. Literally I had to resolve an issue with the UI being super slow turn on and turn off a bunch a Settings Brand New at the box. Now this controller deal this thing is garbage compared to my Xbox series s.
Im having a issue with my controller connecting to my pc, when i plug the cable into the controller it doesnt connect to the pc but if i tilt the cable to the left it connects, this issue is very annoying because i have to hold the controller in a very uncomfortable position and the cable just keeps straighening up and it keeps disconnecting.
Sounds like either the cord, the port on the controller, or the port on the PC, is damaged.
@@HowToX its probably the port on the pc cuz ive bought a new controller and a new cable. Thanks a lot👍
This happened tome often but i come to know the probelm is the cable , just buy a new original cable and it will work good .
@@hamzik2255 I just bought a new original cable and it still has the same problem, its either the port in the controller or the pc
LITERLY HAVING THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM..... So Im more then sure that its the controller beacuse my other cables dont do anything.
Man ty sooooooooo mucho i was worried bc mi controler wasn't charging anda i just delete the controler
My controller charge light comes on, but it doesn’t charge. I’ve left it all night with the controller off, and the light stays on the controller like it’s charging, but it always says empty battery.
Mine as well. We’re you able to fix it?
I believe it’s my charging cord, I’ll test it when I buy a new one.
@@oblatespheroid6346 did buying a new one work?
@@raid1140 Yes, it fixed my problem. My PS5 and controller are nearly 3 years old and the charging cord it came with died on me. I purchased a new cord and my controllers charge fast, while staying fully charged for a long time. I’ve had no problem with my controllers or PS5 in 3 years, the only thing to go was the charging cable.
Can someone help no other outlet/plug in works my controller only charges when connected to the ps5 port
I have lots of hearts to give away!
I hope you see this but my problem is when I deleted my controller I tried to connect it but it won’t even connect to the PlayStation please help me😭😭😭😭😭🤯🤯
Sorry but none of them worked and I can’t buy a new one
Give me one
Mines shows the charging icon but never actually charges, and when it does get 1 or 2 bars it goes back down to 0 I tried switching ports and chargers still doesn’t work.
same have u found a way to solve it? i still cant
@@verowtv I used a new charger and it seems to be working fine, for now at least.
trying a different USB-C cable fixed it for me
I have 2, One stays at 2 bars when charging. And the other stays at 1 bar while charging. I think it’s safe to say the battery’s are fried
Mine won’t charge or turn on at all the only time it comes on is when I plug it up but it only blinks orange once and then after that nothing
Same problem can’t figure it out
Same any updates?
Any help with this? Same thing with me
do you have updates? because i’m having the same problem
My controller has been stuck at low battery for months! Its like it doesn’t charge past 20% battery and it drains in minutes! Gonna see if anything in this video works!
Did something helped?
Mine is always stop charging at 20%, event after update it's still same
@@arx117 yeah unfortunately I don’t really remember what I did but mine is fixed now. If you try everything and its still not working maybe try and get another controller…
@@NuggetGX problem is the pricetag is high in my country, shop selling at 77 USD (350 MYR), i only use it for my PC especially because JRPG not optimized with keyboard.

I just purchased a ps5 and I put the charger to charge with the cord that was included in the box 4 hours later and it’s still under 1 bar
Where do you find Safe Mode?
What if it's fully dead and won't charge

At that point either get a battery replacement or buy a new controller

It pulses orange when in rest mode an states it's charging when not yet its been charging 19 hours the seller will not replace or offer a refund what should I do
Still zero bars on bad after 19 hours
What do I do if it says it’s charging but doesn’t gain charge
The issue was bluetooth on your controller you can change to charge cable now both of my controllers are finally charging i wish i knew this before reset my PS5
Guys it could be inly the faulty cable like in my case it would charge a phone from ps5 but it won't charge the controller
My problem is very Unique, when its off it charges completely fine, when on however it won't charge matter what, but if i unplug the USB cable from the ps5 and plugging it right back as the cable is plugged into the controller it charges while its on.
Omg, I am experiencing the very similar issue. Might it be a software related problem🤔
Hmmm, ps5 says too much usb devices, but there is only the controller connected. It doesn't charge with the ps5, it also does not charge elsewhere.
My controller is on very low battery and it shows that it’s charging but the battery won’t increase

Everyone is right all things help resetting rebuilding registering the joystick again and also it does not charge when it has 99 procent becouse of the discharge. But I found another way by accident. If you have like half the charge or less so you know it should charge then try this couse when I plug the USB cable to the console then plug it in the controller it won't charge I panicked new ps5 broken or controller but what I noticed is when you first plug in the controller then the usb cable into the console it works fine no problem you see on then screen it wil charge.
