- A behind the scenes look at a recording session. D. Bergen White is the guy in the baseball cap helping sort things out. He has even arranged strings, though he does not play violin. Louis Nunley, formerly of the Anita Kerr singers, is among the background singers. So is John Wesley Ryles, who had a few hits years ago (like "Kay"). The amazing Gordon Mote, who is blind, is today's equivalent of "Pig" Robbins on piano. Harold Bradley, Owen's brother, played tic-tac guitar on this session. And then there is LORRIE MORGAN, a gifted singer whose beautiful voice can give you chills.
Greatest video ever. How it was done. Everybody one time. No mixing, everybody in studio. No auto tune, just raw music and singing. Those days are gone!!!! No body could match this now days!!!!
sorry to break it to you but there were probably many overdubs, retakes and edits. Standard procedure even then and now. Even video was lip synced.
@@hbrookes And your proof is....?
My gosh is this a great version. Lorrie and all the pro musicians are fantastic. Wonderful arrangement.
I have always been a big Patsy fan but this version by Lorrie was amazing!! She has the voice of an angel!!❤
She's a big favorite of mine when country music was the best! 🌹 rosita and She's very beautiful!
And yes! The voice of an angel-- she wore her hair very short in the 90s but it only enhanced her beauty!
Did anyone else notice the 12 violins crowded into the adjoining space? It gives the song an unbelievably rich texture. Lorrie's vocal is spot-on with that country slide into the note. No second takes. Purely professional. Amazing.
I didn't think I could appreciate any version of this beautiful song more than Patsy Cline's .... but I was wrong.
Same here! WOW!!
If it anyone could, its her, for sure...sure miss her duets with Keith.
That was my exact reaction. I almost didn't want to click on it. I'm glad I did.
You blasphemer!
@@dirtyscoundrel2013 I can only report what my ears hear. It is very rare for me to ever think a cover approaches the original. Lorrie Morgan is good.
Beautifully sung by a wonderful singer Lorrie Morgan WOW! What a performance.
I had seen this footage before and was afraid that it had been lost forever. It gives a glimpse into the vintage recording experience. It would be interesting to know what year this is.
2009.
Simply beautiful 😍 Smooth as silk and just as gentle. Lorrie singing like no other. Incomparable voice and control.
This is just amazing...the magic that takes place between true professionals...truly amazing...!
Brilliant Arrangement. The switch to 6 flats occurs at about 4:46.
I don't know that anyone could beat Lorrie Morgan in her prime. She is GOLD.
I think I see Patsy Cline smiling...
Whoa the arrangement was so good then with your vocals lorrie❤
Just beautiful!
1st time hearing her sing this..nice
Beautiful Lady, Beautiful Voice!
Just beautiful. She puts her soul into her songs. Sounds so fine it makes me cry. And a little bit of video of the great "Sheriff" Jimmy Capps. R.I.P. Sheriff.
Fantastic job !!!
So good
Absolutely beautiful. I listen to this version all the time. Smooth, emotional, strong. Didn't think can be as good as Patsy's version.
The stars aligned just right for this masterpiece. I love it indeed. Thanks.
Beautiful and powerful
Absolutely Breathtaking!!! 💯 ❤️❤️❤️
good job Lorrie. great song.
Gorgeous singing of the great Patsy Cline’s Leaving on your mind!Lorrie Morgan does Patsy Cline Proud ❤
She had such a rich and beautiful voice. Her phrasing was flawless. Just amazing.
Can't get over how beautifully awesome this song is. ❤ 🎉
Amazingly beautiful.
Great!!
Wow! Lorrie can sing! And some great musicians involved. I recognized Harold Bradley, Jimmy Capps, and Louis Nunley in the backup group (former member of the Anita Kerr SIngers from the 60's). Gordon Mote is amazing on piano. I first thought it was Pig Robbins, but I was wrong.
Awesome cover - God Bless Lorrie Morgan - WOW
The music industry hasn't APPRECIATED this talented lady as she has deserved....... they'll never learn...... LORRIE just kills on this album...... cheers 🙃🙂😊🤗🌈🦋🐬🌟👍🤘👊🤟✌️🤙
Wow I'm totally blown away by this I'm in awe
Just the best
Absolutely belongs in Country Music Hall of Fame- Incredible talent !!
I agree.
Jesus, what a voice!
Captivatingly beautiful - the singer and the song!!!❤❤❤
beautiful song
Just close your eyes and play this again....and I will bet Patsy will ease into your mind and heart. Great job by an incredible singer and an awesome group of backup musicians.
Nothing better than this…..i never tired listen to her voice…..pure honey
Just listened to Patsy's version.......Lorrie = WOW!!!!!!!
Now it sounds correct and very good . I guess someone mixed it right. Lorrie Morgan a great singer, never cover her voice up with music.
From France with love 💗
Excellent!
Ab Fab!
Perfect. Somehow, we never think of how much and how many people are involved creating one song. So involved and all must be perfect with no one messing up at all. Quite amazing! Thanks for sharing.🙏
Really enjoyed my listen here 🌟 🙌 Sounding Fabulous with your Musicians,,So Beautifully done,,🎶💯💥💞🔥
Beautiful song!
My gosh !
Just love her and her voice a great singer under appreciated
Respekt vor der Leistung von allen, einfach Wunderbar und sehr Melodisch.Es ist jede Sängerin setzt ihre eigene Persönlichkeit da rein . Top gesungen! 🎉❤

Didn't think you could top Patsy, but dang if Lorie's version isn't better!!!! You can hear the drama ....... 5:44
Holy smokes that version was absolutely beautiful WOW - Lorrie Morgan is my favorite country music artist …and 2ndly I’m a huge Patsy Cline fan…I’m originally from Northern VA and grew up close to Winchester,VA where Patsy was from. Just WOW from the music to Lorrie’s voice …just beautiful!!!
Band sounds amazing! And Lorrie you nailed it…. “Amore”.
START @2:05
A beautiful person and a beautiful lady I'm one great singer
What a voice!
what happen to auto tune digital mix percussion ...half naked dancing persons ( PC correct lol} i miss all that shite (NOT}
My favorite singer, and what a voice!
Great version of this classic by Lorrie and the guys
Lorrie is so wonderful
Lorrie Morgan is a doll baby……… who can sing!!
Beautiful
Guitar volume was way to loud over riding the singers voice. Singer need to be out front.
I believe the sound did not come from the mixing board but was "nat sound" from the session itself, so the volume of various instruments was not adjusted the way it would be when commercially released.
Ya'll might like the movie "Sweet Dreams"; I bought it used last year; and it's well-acted. Thankfully, they dubbed Patsy's voice in for her songs; and her widower oversaw filming of this tragic story. I am 70, so I prefer Patsy's versions of her songs, tho I have long been a faithful fan of Keith Whitley and the lovely Lorrie Morgan; their duets are classic; and she sings like an angel, so to speak.

What cd is this on
Love it ❤
NOT BAD ...PATSY J.R.....
There was no need for all the people in the beginning talking over each other. You should edit that out
Lovely
Fantastic job
Absolute perfection!!!! LOVE anything by Lorrie or Keith.......
Whoa, what an incredible bunch of musicians - and Lorrie Morgan…unmatched raw talent. She talked about “TicTc Man” - I met Harold Bradley on 5/30/1987 at the Sheraton Music City Hotel - had NO idea who he was. I was in Nashville with a good friend, a beautiful woman - we were in the hotel bar. Saw this man sitting by himself, wearing a rather funny looking blazer. My friend says, “Look at that guy sitting all alone - go buy him a drink, and tell him I’d like him to come join us.” So I did - he looks at his watch, then at my lady friend who is gorgeous, and says, “I’m waiting for some guys, but OK, just for a quick drink.” Turns out it’s Harold Bradley and he’s there to play with Floyd Cramer - the Floyd Cramer Golf Classic was in progress and they were putting on a show for some of the high-rollers in attendance. He graciously. Invited us both to the show, front row, and what a show it was. I will never forget it. I had flown my friend down in a small private plane (N6756B) and before we left that show, he stopped to say “Hope you guys had a good time, pleasure meeting you. Please be careful in that little airplane, I’ve lost several friends in those things.” The next day, 5/31/1987, we departed Nashville for Cincinnati, and we were nearly killed when I flew into an embedded thunderstorm over Louisville, KY - lost nearly 5000 feet of altitude and recovered control at 1500 feet above the ground - neither of us expected to survive…only God saved us. His last words to us ran through my mind until we landed at Lunken Airport.
Lorrie Morgan, more known for her failed relationships than her singing, did a FINE JOB on this Patsy Cline classic. Interesting to note that George Morgan, Lorrie's deceased father, would have known Patsy.
I do have a problem with the WEIRD and UNNECESSARY change of LYRICS! What in hell is that about, room full of music professionals?
Wonderful job Laurie. Gordon Mote sounds like Floyd Cranmer on. Piano. Greatest singers and musicians.
LOVE patsy's version of course, plus this version. Always wondered what Karen Carpenter would have done and sounded with this song!!...
Beautiful song Beautiful lady
Beautiful version. I also like the "Wind Whispers Mary" links by the guitarist.
Wow! Lori sounds just like Patsy Cline. She has a beautiful voice. ❤
I'm sorry she has a fabulous voice, I still like the Patsy Cline version better...don't care for Lorrie going up a couple of notes
Never before thought someone could do a Patsy Cline cover better than Patsy Cline. When she sang that second "now," I lost it. Perfect sensibilities by the musicians, marvelous vocals!
What year was this ... anyone ? Am I correct that the 2021 date is when this was Posted ? Thanks.
Excellent 1 and done version 🎉
Folks this is great, also look up the piano player on here, Pig Robbins, he played on more hit records than anyone can count, he,s blind and imagine what he has done, hall of fame, for instance he came up with the opening of Charlie Rich,s behind closed doors, just endless songs, back to Patsy Cline, read his resume, great video.
And now we got “my heart is like a truck”! What the hell has happened to country music?
Wow! She has a lovely voice! For anyone to do justice by the great Patsy Cline is no easy task yet this lady gave me chills, she was so good!
Pure Gold! Thank you.
She is known for doing a “one take” per James Stroud/producer
Just as good as being a fly on the wall. Thanks Larry
She is absolutely amazing. I always said she is the 2nd Tammy and the truth is their lives are so similar
FANTASTIC
Brilliant rendition
Lori is just awesome ❤
Beautiful version Lorrie as always , love it xx
Quite enjoyable! Thank you.
she did a good version, Patsy Clines was better.
She's no Patsy Cline!
😊❤❤❤
Pretty good stab at it !!!
This woman can sing !
