The light covers fitted were not in NASCO'S parts inventory . In those days the optional headlight protectors were metal mesh. Where is the author of this video getting his information from? Is there anybody out there with a genuine untouched HG Monaro GTS 350 from the last ever 3month build updated motor? The true "Command Performer " that more than likely would have beaten GTHO Phase 2 at Bathurst 1970.Harry Firth had one ready to rumble & was vetoed. Long live The General:))

Beautiful vehicle and with books, a credit to the past owners. I had the chance in 1992 for a green one for $19,000 being young wanted a VN commodore, still kicking myself to this day.

You should have bought the Monaro first, then updated to the VN later on. That way, the bug is no longer there.
I had an HG Kingswood for a few years, then bought a VK Commodore wagon.
I now drive Toyotas, but remember my Holden days fondly.

Nice car - being auto it has the softer sprung suspension & 20:1 steering box.
I've got a very similar vehicle which I've owned since new - a 4sp man 350HT (as homologated for Bathurst).
Almost stock standard except for the later addition of an extra rear spring leaf & rear sway bar. The best car I have ever owned - would cruise it at 85mph on country trips (before radars & speed limits) - it would do it all day without a problem.
It was magic on dirt roads - it would run to 70mph on the dirt - very stable with predictable handling. I gave it heaps for years - and it survived - well used, but fundamentally unscathed.

Great video of a very interesting car.
Just one thing Please get a mic pack. When you are sticking the camera in the car it is almost impossible to hear what you are saying.

I had 2 genuine 350 / 4 speed Bathurst Monaros in the 90s; both with gold stripes, one verdoro green with antique gold interior and one Monaco Maroon with black int totally untouched original,350M block,no mags,no nothing,untouched...way rarer color than Daytona bronze, great cars to drive but the shifter was their downfall bolting it to the box mount instead of the box itself,I traded it for a mustang after awhile and of course years later their value went ridiculous. As far as I’m aware 16:1 steering boxes were used on all GTS as I had an all original HG gts 253 / trimatic as well and it had a 16:1 steering box.

Beautiful car, my dad still has his 1970 HT 186s 4 speed manual. Same colour as this, he keeps its garaged. Had it since the day it came out brand new in the showroom. He was 17 at the time.

Even the 186s monaro would be great to have. Bit under powered but that doesn't matter. Still a GTS monaro and great to look at.

Extremely nice car but rarity claim bit misleading, rare as far as a survivor goes, maybe so

not the end of the world, you can buy period correct looking head units with all the modern features from retrosound usa, plus original headers/extractors were included with the vehicle.
