I did think we might get to see a younger Effie trinket, but as she always referred to katniss and peeta as her Victor's she probably wasn't part of 12s prep team back then, but it would be fun to see her having a little crush on Haymitch
I'm a huge fan of a tri-perspective possibility following Maysilee, Haymitch, and a young Plutarch (who would probably be in his 20s). Haymitch's perspective could be similar to Katniss', where he is forced to act decently towards his oppressors in the face of almost certain death, all the while coming from the worst part of the country (in the book, Haymitch is from the Seam, not the merchant sector). Maysilee's could be more about learning to survive in a paradise designed to torture you. She comes from a wealthier family than Haymitch, and is possibly well-liked in her District, which would give her similarities to Madge and Prim. However, like Lucy Gray, she needs to learn quickly how to survive on more than charm if she wants to see home again. Plutarch's perspective could be quite interesting, if it's one where he is a young intern at the Gamemakers' Center, and he learns of a rebel plot from within the Capitol's own ranks, and we see the moment he decides to join the cause.
Very exciting. I was a bit apprehensive about having Snow as a protagonist but it turned out I very much enjoyed "ballad". Looking forward to this one tho haymitch makes a perfect antihero
I feel like she is doing a trilogy on President Snow and the sunrise is the leading up to the reaping hopefully showing how he gets into power and then the games and short aftermath hopefully explaining what happened to Haymich, and then we will get a finale leading up to Finnicks games maybe and and connecting the dots to the revolution in the 3rd quarter quell
That's a great point actually and I would really love a third book in this kind of triolgy about Finnick! She created such a great world (books-wise, nothing great at Snow's Panem xD) with so much potential for tons of new stories, she just has to keep on writing more (as long as she wants to, of course ♥)
Now that is a cool theory!! Will definitely be very interesting to see what pieces of information from Ballad will carry over into this book or what it will allow us to better understand. It would be really interesting to get his pov or a few appearances of Snow and see what has or hasn't changed.
It would be interesting to have multiple perspectives in a hunger games book. I want to see the same major events from different perspectives and see the perspective of those who die in the games cause we only hear the perspectives of the victors usually. Very excited for this book.
Tigris and Maggs both play a major role in this book. Tigris will be Haymitch’s stylist, and the things she does to encourage Haymitch is the final nail in her relationship with Snow. I feel that it’s not an accident that Haymitch speaks so kindly of Maggs in Catching Fire. She made a profound impact on him, perhaps as a surrogate mentor because 12 doesn’t technically have an available winner? There will be many Easter eggs as it pertains to Katniss’ mom and dad.
There’s so many possibilities, not only does Maysilee, connected to Madge, Haymitch, but also to Katniss’s Mother, so will we get something, about Mr Everdeen and Mr Mellark trying to catch the eye of the apothecary’s daughter. I also like the idea of why Tigris got altered, plus a younger Plutarch. And could Sunrise infer to the start of people thinking about rebelling, against the leaders of the Capital.
Yes omg, I would love to see Tigris again and a younger Plutarch. After getting small teases of past families in Ballad, I'd love to see more of the origin stories.
What if the book was written from the perspective of katniss' mother? Unlikely but it would be interesting to see her inner thoughts watching a friend of hers going through such a thing and dying. Edit; nevermind lmao, I commented this just before you said it
I'd like to see the POV of Haymitch or Maysilee to see the first person POV of someone in the game and someone from the capitol (ideally Plutarch) who realizes that the Hunger Games are evil and decides to join the rebellion. Plutarch's a fascinating character who needs more exploration.
Ooo that would honestly be even cooler. I didn't think of that as we don't know of any named characters from that season, but it would be interesting to see the life of someone from another district ad how that compares to district 11 or 12.
Also would be interested to see what happened to the covey we met in songbird . Could the little blonde girl be a parent to one of the reaped. I think it would be interesting to see how much life would have changed in 12. In songbird they had like a bar pub, but by the time of the 74th it feels like life was more desperate
What if the book was written in dual perspective and it was Haymitch the games, and President Snow reacting to him. Because we know that President Snow executes Haymitch’s loved ones for defying the Capitol.
Oh man that will be crazy to experience if she ends up including that in the book. I imagine it will have to be included given we already know that information and I imagine will be very pivotal to Haymitch's character.
I’m glad I’m not the only one who also had a mental breakdown. I ran through my house screaming bloody murder. My parents were concerned to say the least 😂
To be honest I was slightly disappointed/surprised that she is not doing the 25th hunger games first especially because the title feels like it would work much better for that games. Not to mention we know a lot less about those games and while we do not know a whole lot about the 50th we do know a lot of the big parts that kinda take some of the thrill out of the story. That being said it’s gonna be fun still.
True, but I feel like the true meaning of Suzanne Collins world isn't just entertainment for its own sake. It's a study of human nature, and critics of contemporary society, using fictive characters and settings. Like she had Lucy Gray's say: "I don't sing when I'm told, I sing when I have something to say". So I believe she has a message she wants to share in this new book. Like Katniss noticed during her Victor Interview in the first book, there was A LOT of significant parts from the 74th Games that didn't make it into the final, selective edited version of the Games. Important conversations, symbolic acts that were deemed "too defiant", too boring, and who knows what else. I'm sure it was the same with Haymitch's Games. The edited versions, are just THE HIGHLIGHTS, and what the Capitol deems okay (or straight up necessary in Haymitch's case) to broadcast as mandatory viewing to the entire nation. I feel like people tend to forget that. Days, maybe even weeks, of living in a hellish nightmare, in constant survival mode, expecting to die at any moment, compressed into half an hour or so. There is so much more to the Panem universe than just the Hunger Games themselves. I've always been curious about what Snow and the people in general thought, both in the Districts, and The Capitol, when Haymitch won. How did the people in the streets of the more unrestful Districts react when Haymitch was declared Victor ? How did capitolites like seing something "no one" had seriously thought could happen, as District 12 hadn't won in 40 years? And rich people in the Capitol probably had put in a lot of "safe" betting money on the girl from District 1... Did the betting-system, with how many high-ups lost their "safe and secure" bets, play a role in making Haymitch even less popular to government officials? Maybe we will get to see what kinds of people his brother, mother and girlfriend were, and what his relationship with his family, and District 12 in general was before being reaped. It's everything outside of the Hunger Games themselves that makes me come back to this series over and over again. Different place on the timeline, some familiar characters and plotlines, but still a lot of unknowns and possibilities. And somewhere in between it all, the story should deal with themes of propaganda, competing narratives and how and why people bend to those in power. I'm excited!
@@sigriddaaemland8486 I agree that she will have a point or idea she want to expand upon I just personally think that she can do a lot of very interesting things with the fist quarter quell not to mention when it comes to movies I would think that by doing the first quarter quell right now they could still use Tom as Snow if they wanted to go in that direction. for instance the 25th hunger games could be his first games as head gamemaker and so to go all out he convinces everyone for the need of a quarter quell.
Fans have been calling for a book about the 50th games for years! It's actually happening! I just know it's gonna be a great book (and movie) because Suzanne is just a great writer ♥
The only reason I think it would be from Haymitch’s POV is if Suzanne Collins was going to write 3 different INFJ perspectives (I truly believe both Snow & Katniss are INFJs which I know isn’t a common belief, but I have my reasoning) & how they handle trauma & get themselves out of it (Snow does this through narcissism). If she’s not going to do this, I don’t think she’s going there. So if you disagree they’re all INFJ, there’s no chance for this one. Other POV that could be cool - from Maysilee’s sister/Madge’s mom, I want to say that her name is Amity, but I don’t know if this is canon 😅 Another interesting POV would be Katniss’ mom - it’s said she was BFFs with Maysilee & Maysilee’s sister. I’m wondering if Haymitch might have been BFFs with Katniss’ dad & this is part of their bonding which Haymitch is oblivious to until Katniss is in front of him with Maysilee’s pin as a capable participant, mainly because he has learnt “the people I love/get close to will die” after Snow kills his family & girlfriend, keeping him completely isolated from everyone. Like he knows who Katniss’ parents are but doesn’t actually know until Peeta/Katniss are sitting in front of him that the baker she should have been with didn’t happen etc. OR It could be from the D12 escort’s perspective - I feel like this would be utterly fascinating for so many reasons. I wonder if they’d be a relative of Effie & that’s why Effie ends up getting assigned with D12 to essentially trauma bond w Haymitch as revenge for potentially what an older sibling/parent did & is why she hasn’t been able to work herself out of D12. All we know is that Effie wasn’t the escort for Haymitch’s year, but she may have assisted in some way or been involved somehow on the back end & more unseen. I also like the Plutarch’s POV theory. It seems very plausible, but for some reason, I’m less interested in that at the moment. I guess he is the mastermind behind the rebellion, and it would be very interesting to see how Snow’s rise to power effected him & how his relative died at Snow’s hands & how etc. I’m sure my mind could be easily changed haha.
I did think we might get to see a younger Effie trinket, but as she always referred to katniss and peeta as her Victor's she probably wasn't part of 12s prep team back then, but it would be fun to see her having a little crush on Haymitch
A little cameo would be epic omg
Give us a career district. The final tribute Haymitch fights

Agreed! Wasn’t a big fan at first either but it grew on me. Really interested to see what perspective Suzanne Collins with this book.

I think it will be quadruple perspective, following haymitch, Katniss mum, Plutarch and the career girl from 1
It would be interesting to have multiple perspectives in a hunger games book. I want to see the same major events from different perspectives and see the perspective of those who die in the games cause we only hear the perspectives of the victors usually. Very excited for this book.
And the tribute that she made the protagonist would most likely die
Tigris and Maggs both play a major role in this book. Tigris will be Haymitch’s stylist, and the things she does to encourage Haymitch is the final nail in her relationship with Snow. OMG I love your hunger games shelf!! so cute😍
Ah thank you so much! Been collecting items for a few years so I’m happy with how it’s come out!
I think the book will be about the Districts and Panem viewers during the 50th Hunger Games.
I'm excited I've always wanted Haymitch story

Omg i remember this channel🥹
I found u when I was obsessed with the school for good and evil and then became obsessed with ur channel because of that😂

This is going to be about heymitchs games that he took part in and there’s obviously going to be a film about this as well
Im so excited
Thank so much. My theories mostly conided with yours. I’m gunna sub.
Welcome aboard! I’m so excited to see what other information we get…!

Ooo I like this. Especially since we just got so much history for ballad, it would be very cool to see how that carried forward 40 years later
this is the best new I have ever heard

I'm right there with the fans... agreed!
We already know about Haymitch’s game though when they watched it in Catching Fire
the gamemakers wouldve manipulated what's seen by the rest of panem so theres likely a lot that we dont already know

Imagine jamie lee curtis in a new hunger games movie
Ms Collins has never done a duel p.o.v. don't think she will change now
Jesus loves you!
