Interesting! I had no idea the soundscapes of Eyeball World, Dense Forest and such are simply just single notes of the rs7000’s “ambient” synths. Makes you wonder, just what was going through the Yamaha engineers’ minds when they included those unsettling sounds.
this is so unbelievably cool, the insight on Mural World's tonality being a result of distortion from maxing out the resonance on a pad is super interesting. I don't think there's ever been such a clear deconstruction of Kikiyama's methodology on anything before. Hearing lossless (less lossy?) rips of these songs is also very surreal, I would love if you put them up for download somewhere
Very nice project! Really illustrates the amount of creativity and experimentation Kikiyama poured into Yume Nikki using such limited gear and software.
fyi the Yamaha QY series are way cheaper and have really similar sounds and functionality. i found a QY70 years back for around $80 instead of the $500-1000 that the RS7000 goes for!
This is really cool, well done! Just one note (everything else was really accurate): - Witch's Island: I don't think the instrument for the "main melody" is what was used in the original, atleast not without some additional processing of it.
Awesome work. I always wondered how Kikiyama made this OST. Great ambient music that still gives me chills all these years later.

this should get more views, I've never imagined they were created only by a single gear
He got so much out of some relatively minimal application of a synth, it’s astounding.
LEGEND!

God I wish I could have one of these so I can make my own tracks using these instruments

Nice remakes
神だ
Very well done
This is so cool!
How do you hook a RS7000 to a computer? I want to use that sequencer in my music.
All tracks in this video are made using only a RS7000 and are recorded on the LINE outputs through an audio interface.

very cool
it so cool
Do you do requests? It'd be very cool if you could do the Yume Nikki Dream Diary versions of Snow World with the original Yume Nikki's instruments.
