I just did this to my 05 Tundra. I think it had the original power steering fluid still in it. The fluid that came out was a nasty brown as well. It’s good to have fresh fluid in there. Thanks for the vid. It helped out tremendously.
Perfect instruction ,with sense of humor ,(diarrhea color) made me laugh .Thank you very much for posting this video , i have watched at least 20 of em , your is the best. you the Best Man.Blessings
Quicker method...suck fluid out of power steering reservoir with a turkey baster and put lid back on.--->Remove power steer hose(smaller hose of the two)--> stick that hose in a 1qt empty jug---> jack the front up with tires off ground and turn the key to accessory mode then turn the wheel front left to right until all fluid out of the system..(about a quart). ---> reinstall hose to power steering reservoir and refill to full--->> crank truck and turn the wheel back and fourth (all the way) and continue to check levels as doing so. Once all the way full drive then recheck when home. Takes about a quart of DEXRON MERCON 3
Very good video. You had cuts but didn’t leave out any information in between. You said it burnt out when you were coming down the mountain? Mine happened when I was doing cookies in the snow. I was just going and going then suddenly I had to use my muscles to turn the wheel. Gonna try this flush before replacing the pump
wrong Dexron you want Dexron 3, the stuff you have covers all types which treats seals differently. Look this up. You can get basic dexron 3 at walmart for $12. You want to be careful and get the right dexron because the wrong stuff will cause the power steering to leak... When they made the truck it was for dexron III not this newer fluid that covers all types of uses and the newer dexron IV standard.
I have a tundra 2000 v8 and is been leaking the oil i have 2 put some every day or 2 and wen it doesnt have any and i turn truck on it sounds werd makes weird noises any help or suggestions i was gonna take it 2 mechanic but os sunday and i really dont trust them always lien 2 make more money or ripp people off
Thanks a lot for this video. You help me tremendously. However, there is one thing I respectfully disagree with you. Per the Toyota maintenance manual in page 420, it is recommended Dexron type 3. Otherwise, I appreciated that you meesed up the engine bay so I wont make the same mistake.
What does it mean when the fluid comes out the reservoir it makes a whine i have the 2000 model i dont no if the lid reservoir or the pump can you help bro

Holy shit I just saw this comment! And yes it does!
messy but it works. thanks for the 4-1-1
Why would being in 4 wheel cause your fluid to burn?
It was low, and 4wd puts more stress on the rack/pump to turn.

Follow car Care nut so you can get some instruction on this. Specifically with regards to your filthy reservoir that should be replaced, not refilled

If it only sprays out when the lid is off, and the motor is on, that's normal.
@@teknogeek1300 it wines and push fluid out the reservoir could that be a bad pump
Air pocket in the steering system
thx
USE DEXTRON III ONLY IN 1st gen TUNDRA
I'm dizzy
