Chicken and waffles is a bit regional, but I wouldn't say it's all that 'weird.' It makes a lot of sense: protein item with a bread item. That's the same as a sandwich, if you think about it. The real trick is if you add syrup to it--I couldn't tell, did you add syrup?
It's become popular in the SW U.S. I think I first heard of it about 4-5 years ago and now it's everywhere. Its pretty darn good, but gotta have the syrup.
Would love to see the reactions of them trying slushees or "frozen drinks" alike while its still summer! Also some more sweet and salty things go together very well, but usually as a treat/desert of some kind. Like caramel and sea salt flavored anything(candy, ice cream, different snacks, etc.), or hot salty fries and a chocolate shake every once in a while. Much of what you try aren't eaten on a daily basis, but are more so eaten as treats, for an occasion, or seasonaly.

Probably in a country as hot as Pakistan, without a ton of A/C, it's unusual *for them*. We have to remember that before modern appliances, it was quite difficult for the average person to have access to ice, let alone to use it with your water all-year round.
Yes they do Haitians do not drink cold things in the winter. As you get der you realize drinking cold things makes you cold. Technical you core body temp is 98..6 Drinking cold ice water will course through you.. Not the best choice. What I couldn't understand is when i worked in the hospital they gave pations ice water and they would ask for it when with pulmonary busses coughing with phlegm. Cold contracts Muscles propelling you to cough Phlem hardens with cold. .also don't understand a smoothie after the gym b/c ice will solidify fat, so why not drink tea to encourage the fat you just burned off to melt more therefore loosing more fat.
Why not try the Norwegian national dish; fårikål, literarly lamb in cabbage? Take equal prts lamd, or preferbly sheep; and cabbage. I normally use 1.5 kgs of each. Put in layers in a casserole, meat at bottom, cabbage on top. Add some boiling water (1/2 -cup, depends on how much broth you bwant) Sprinkle salt and whole black peppercorns between the the layers, and cook for 1.5-2 hours, or until the meat falls off the bones. Normally served with boiled potatoes. It's best after a coulpe of reheatings. Bon appetit.....

Sweet potato with marshmallow is normal around Thanksgiving and Christmas where I grew up. I didn't think of it as unusual until I moved away and other people didn't understand it!
He said "leave it" to the name of the dish as it was too long, so when the host was telling him the name, he said, "chor do" with an expression which says, it's too difficult for me so don't even try.
I've made many weird foods, some was because I was hungry and had to make do with what I had on hand (dry cereal with peanut butter) or because I simply wanted to see if things tasted good together. Some of the things I found to be good was to fix a pizza, then cook an egg (over easy), then put the egg on the pizza and eat. It's pretty good. Another food was I took hot dogs, wrapped bacon around them and baked them (did the same thing with chicken once). The most surprising thing was when I took sliced bologna and put a little caramel on it (the sweetness of the caramel counters the saltiness of the bologna).
Same here. My grandmother was a great cook, but that was one dish I wouldn’t eat whenever she made it every thanksgiving! Sweet potatoes are good by themselves, but the marshmallow on top ruins both the taste and texture.
@@kimracklely2689 Wholeheartedly agree! I love a nice baked sweet potato with butter and cinnamon or chopped up and roasted sweet potatoes roasted with olive oil and a bit of salt. 😋
Including the ice water was a good nod to the rest of the world, that is definitely one of my most American traits, I LOVE my water ice cold all the time haha! The sweet potato marshmallow casserole is weird yet also traditional, to me that's a dish we always have once, maybe twice, a year at Thanksgiving/Christmas and that's it. So it's a combination of weird, unusual food that is also very traditional and familiar. I've never had one of those donut burgers, interesting how divisive that one was haha.
Naseeba surprisingly liked all the weird foods I would like to try sweet potato marshmallow casserole seems interesting ! Chicken waffles and donut burger definitely weird ! Manzoor , Mehboob and Mustafa uncle made me laugh so much lol Initially I thought the iced water was a prank 😱😅😅😱😅
Salaam Mr. Kareem! The sweet potato casserole can be made without the marshmallows. It is a favorite for special occasions where I live. To make yourself, get 4 medium sweet potatoes and bake them with a little butter on the outside of the skin. Cook them until a fork will go through them and let them cool. When cool, remove the skins, and mash the pieces together until the "strings" are no more. Add salt, one egg, a hand full of sugar, a cap of liquid vanilla, 1/2 cup ghee, and beat the mixture until nothing shows as different than the sweet potato. Pour into oven dish and bake until top is lightly brown from the butter. You can add cinnamon, nutmeg, mace, or nuts (almonds are good in this) as you wish as you bake. Add the marshmallows to the top at the end and just let them melt a bit to get the "goo" at the top.
For those Americans who haven’t had one, please do. If you go to the state fair (for the food) it’s sticky, but really well balanced sweetness. To someone who likes donuts. So good, they’re in town, but I live in a dumb state so I’ll wait til next September to get my 3rd.
I think ice water is more considered strange by people in europe - pretty sure restaurants in europe serve plain water but in teh US its always served w ice.
As an American, most of these things i have not tried. I am not sure if i ever heard of the Donut Burger. Maybe, not sure but I don't like hamburgers. Ice water, i have heard of and drink it often in other homes or restaurants. I come from the desert in the mountains of New Mexico. The high desert. Water, by itself is good. It doesn't need to be boiling or frozen. But I am not in the desert now and live where it is so hot with so much moisture in the air that my son and his cousin faint outside. They get terrible headaches from being in the heat. People sometimes die in this heat if they work too hard. Even young healthy men who are not afraid of hard work. They get Heat Stroke. Their body heats up much more than it is supposed to. Even though I don't care for ice water, I like it in that heat. It tastes good and lets me work outside longer. It is here, in the south where it gets so hot, that every drink is on ice. They are used to it this way and when it is hot? So do I. In the house, though, i don't keep my water in the fridge. But i keep my husband's water in the fridge. And I serve him fruit juice with crushed ice. And he likes it that way. I think now, though, everyone likes ice water. It is only when i go home and ask for water in a home or in a restaurant that i am brought water in a glass or cup with no ice. And the water there is clean and sweet. The ice tastes funny after being in the freezer. We don't want it to make our water taste funny. This is a big country with every climate in the world (I think)
Lol, yes, even we here in the US say California has special crazies. They should try a Fluffernutter sandwich for weird. (But good weird) And now I want chicken & waffles for lunch.

Chicken and waffles is a bit regional, but I wouldn't say it's all that 'weird.' It makes a lot of sense: protein item with a bread item. That's the same as a sandwich, if you think about it. The real trick is if you add syrup to it--I couldn't tell, did you add syrup?
No syrup was added.
The marshmallows with sweet potato wasn't weird either.
TRIBAL PEOPLE GET BRAIN FREEZES
@@dmarioisajerk So do I, but i'm still going to drink them 😆
I like a burger with a vanilla soft serve cone. So good!
This is for Mehboob: Americans LOVE sweet and salty! The two together is so good! For everyone else: You all had me laughing so hard! Oh, and ice water is the BEST! Winter or summer...ice water! LOL Thank you all for making my day so wonderful.
I love you all so much! I did not know ice water was unpopular or not known in certain places. Love from Amanda in Indiana, USA❤❤❤❤❤
What's weird about making your drinking water ice cold? I drink iced water and iced tea every day summer and winter.
Finally an episode were I've eaten & enjoyed each thing. Great episode 👍🏽
Do u like donut burger?
@@trixie2561 it was interesting. I've even had it with a breaded chicken patty in between the donuts. They both tasted good but my stomach hurt afterwards. 😂
I've always wanted to try chicken and waffles but it's hard to find in the UK. Oh well, I guess I'll have to make it myself one day
@@beastvader make sure you put syrup or honey on the fried chicken and the waffles. So good!
@@mpearlw I will, thanks!
I love sweet potato casserole! When I make it the marshmallows are cooked much more so they’re nice and melted on the inside and have a subtle crisp on the outside!! That’s just perfect! No way with raw marshmallows!!
Yeah to me they looked rubbery.
sweet potato and marshmallow casserole? do you mean candied yams? it wasn't fully cooked you need to back it longer. it looked like the marshmallows were placed on top after it was cooked. also the chicken and waffles were missing maple syrup and butter! the way you served it , it was just chicken and bread. there isn't really anything strange about that. and is ice water really considered strange in other places? that's crazy to me if it's true.
You need to get out more 😂
I was waiting for someone to comment about the sweet potato casserole - which is f'ing delicious when done right. That one looked like a travesty.
I’ve noticed they try to make the food close to American style but it’s way different. I would love to cook for them.
Mama Mustafa doesn't even like the water 😂
Waffles need Butter and Maple Syrup. It's the Maple Syrup that makes it all work!
Chicken and waffles needs maple syrup! It's the combination of sweet and salty that makes it good.
"Let's leave it" 🤣😂 we agree..
Sub continent's first reaction channel that i love
All the people are just love especially manzoor
Thank you 😊
I love watching this channel and seeing their different personalities! The lady wearing the green dress has a wonderful smile 😁and the lady in the pretty pink dress seems so sweet ☺️..the older gentleman makes me laugh 😆 and I love his feedback! God Bless Y’all and keep making great videos !! ❤️🤠
Good assessment of the donut burger, Mehboob!
Kinda surprised Mustafa didn't enjoy the chicken and waffles as it's really just the 'roti and meat' he always seems to be into
He did praised the food though, he said it was rich. He just couldn't eat it because the chicken was cooked kentucky's style (with flour).
I think it had to do with the chicken being breaded
@@LilGrasshopper yes, he has no problem with the waffles, he hates the breaded chicken
Mehboob has a good understanding of flavors he know very well what pairs with what..
so funny the guy that thought sushi was an american dish involving venison. ive never heard someone be more wrong
wait wait, people think ice water is weird?
Yep
Probably in a country as hot as Pakistan, without a ton of A/C, it's unusual *for them*. We have to remember that before modern appliances, it was quite difficult for the average person to have access to ice, let alone to use it with your water all-year round.
@@ArgusStrav ohh i see what you mean
I don’t think it’s about it being unusual for us. I myself wouldn’t prefer ice water, we just prefer cold water, ice cubes can get irritating.😭
Yes they do Haitians do not drink cold things in the winter.
As you get der you realize drinking cold things makes you cold.
Technical you core body temp is 98..6
Drinking cold ice water will course through you..
Not the best choice.
What I couldn't understand is when i worked in the hospital they gave pations ice water and they would ask for it when with pulmonary busses coughing with phlegm.
Cold contracts Muscles propelling you to cough
Phlem hardens with cold.
.also don't understand a smoothie after the gym b/c ice will solidify fat, so why not drink tea to encourage the fat you just burned off to melt more therefore loosing more fat.
Naseeba , I feel your pain. Thinking you’re getting a sprite and it’s just water. 😂
Everytime I watch vids like these they're always missin a key ingredient. Chicken n waffles with no syrup? Who eats dry chicken and waffles
Hello. I am an American lady and just want to tell you that I have never eaten a donut burger ever!! They are not common. Don't think I would like it. Love your channel and watch it all the time.
Wait! Sweet potato and marshmallow casserole is weird? Don't tell that to my 90-year-old grandma. She made that every Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Mustafa don't even like the ice water. "It will give me runny nose"🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Even my 70 yr old mother cringed when he said that. He makes these videos hard to enjoy. IDK if he's really ignorant or really arrogant. It's no longer endearing.
California fav foods that are known within the US- avocado toast, tacos, burritos, In-N-Out burgers, Cobb salad, French dip sandwich, cruffin…
Reactistan- 🍩 🍔
No American thinks ics in water is weird theyre actually shocked no one else does it
Sweet potato with marshmallow is normal around Thanksgiving and Christmas where I grew up. I didn't think of it as unusual until I moved away and other people didn't understand it!
"Bring it all on at once!" Served first thing: "Let's leave it!"
He said "leave it" to the name of the dish as it was too long, so when the host was telling him the name, he said, "chor do" with an expression which says, it's too difficult for me so don't even try.
@@s.s.m9936 Ahhh, ok.
"Have they put broken glass in it?" Epic mustafa😂
The sweet potato dish has been around for ages (I’m 45). My grandmother made it , my mom made it. And I have always hated it. 🤣
My mother makes candied sliced sweet potatoes with marshmallow on top instead of mashed casserole, and now so do I. That's delicious!!!
Let's leave it! Good thinkers! I agree with their every complaint.
Lol so funny! Love their hearts! I feel bad that they are eating this! Love them!
Naseeba surprisingly liked all the weird foods
I would like to try sweet potato marshmallow casserole seems interesting !
Chicken waffles and donut burger definitely weird !
Manzoor , Mehboob and Mustafa uncle made me laugh so much lol
Initially I thought the iced water was a prank 😱😅😅😱😅
Salaam Mr.
@@DodiTov salam to you too
Thank you so much for the recipe ! 😊
I don't coop lol but will tell my mom or aunt to try making it ! 😊
@@DodiTov Oh wow, I'll definitely try that recipe
You should find a reason to try American regional dishes like frito pie or Detroit dogs. This was great!
True that
They did the yams (what black folks call sweet potato & marshmallow casserole) NO JUSTICE! Lol
The donut burger is the culmination of everything Mustafa hates about American food lmao
I want to see your studio setup plz make a video on that
Lol, yes, even we here in the US say California has special crazies.
They should try a Fluffernutter sandwich for weird. (But good weird) And now I want chicken & waffles for lunch.
I like chicken and I like waffles just not together. However, it is served with maple syrup which they didn’t have.
The sweet potato and marshmallow casserole thing is pretty standard Thanksgiving and church potluck food here in Montana. I don't love it but I don't hate it either.
*Me looking at thumbnail*
"Aw don't make Mustafa eat that"
Mustafa just couldn't escape from the burgers lol
Omg, i wouldn't even eat the marshmallow sweet potato thing 😒 Love this channel and the hosts. They are so funny! Love their character. Love their reactions ❤
Sweet potato casserole is a desert . It didn't look like it was made very well in the video.
It's actually very good. We allso make Sweet potatoes with a topping of pecans. Both are much like pie without the crust.
@@davidfryer9218 The sweet potato with pecans sounds great 👍 Still wrapping my head around marshmallows on potato though. I'll have to try it next time I'm in the US 😀
@@lbe don't think of sweet potato as a potato. It's a yam. Basically mashed sweetened but still lumpy yam with a Sweet crunchy or gooey top. Aka Sweet potato casserole. I pulled a random recipe off utube and am forwarding it to you. You can get lots of recipes from utube. It's mostly a southern dish.

I love chicken and waffles. You gotta put syrup on it.
Make an episode of them eating their own food dishes...I am curious 🤔
That old guy is such a buzz kill.🤣
In China they drink everything warm or hot mostly even water......my Chinese employees use to laugh at us about the ice water and we had to bring in a big kettle for their hot water
... is there no syrup with the chicken and waffles?
Donut burger is supposed to be sliced in half to put the burger between. :)
This was a neat video! I enjoyed it. I have to say though, being from the south, the only thing that is considered "weird" is the donut burger. It's usually only made at fairs and carnivals. The other items are considered "soul food" or, at least, "southern food". It's not weird because we eat it all the time. The sweet potato casserole wasn't made properly, from the looks of it, but we mostly have that on holidays like Thanksgiving or for Sunday dinner. The chicken and waffles needed syrup and THAT was the item made famous in California. Ice water is consumed to cool your body down when working in this hot humidity. Cool video. I'll subscribe.
They make it wrong where's the syrup
He said the iced water went through one side of his throat 😂🤣.. thank you for the laughs. I usually drink iced water everyday or sometime during the week with lemon or mixing it with vitamin c.. Great for keeping the immune system strong. Blessings! ☦️🤍
I love you all so much. Your videos make my day. Thank you. Have you tried rhubarb pie? Or maybe venison stew? 😊❤
I imagine these people having meet and greet with fans in America. Then having Q&A. They might never go to airport before. It'll be much interesting.
Ice in water isn't considered weird in America, but it is weird everywhere else.
I wonder what they'll react after trying biryani with ketchup , zarda with raita , rasmalai with chat masala, strawbiryani and so on.........
P.s I haven't tried any of these American weird food 🤢🌚 but ice water is ♥️😋💙❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️

They didn't have maple syrup dripping on the waffles so it wasn't weird :( but it tastes so good and better when the waffles are crispy. I find how everyone is amazed that our water is always served cold. DIDNT know about that until this year
You're supposed to serve the chicken and waffles with maple syrup.
