- A video of our ride out of the canyon. We rode up to the point where the canyon was blocked by a previous fall of boulders and I then started the video of our ride out. Pictures at the start of the video show the blockage. Walking up the canyon just a few yards from the boulders, gets you to the remains of a vehicle that was in the canyon previous to one or more of the flood events that shaped the canyon.
Can this trail be done with a 2wd tacoma?
The Lower Narrows is a cool place. I understand that the blue Bronco has washed down the canyon several miles from where it started a few years ago. A hundred yards upstream from the Bronco wreckage is a 10' waterfall, when there is water.
Can I get tha location of the place ?
It starts about here: 4FJJ+7W4 Bullhead City, Arizona
Ed: What's on the other side of the blockage? How thick is the blockage? Would officials allow any kind of excavation?
It is a pretty significant blockage consisting of huge boulders. The remains of a Ford Bronco lodged in the boulders is shown in the pics at the start of the video. Myself, I'd hate to see any efforts to civilize the trail.
@@mtdirtfarmer True on that point Ed. Since we all know how slot canyons are created - we need to wonder what the next super flood will do to the area. The blockage looks pretty high which could create a new local lake!
@@mtdirtfarmer Someone from BLM (I'm told) planted a few sticks of dynamite there last week and blew the sh#t out of it. It aint blocked anymore.
Is this along or apart of the AZPT?
It's a spur off the main Peace Trail. Well worth the time to explore it.
Where do you start from? Would throughly enjoy hiking to it.
If you drive north on Bullhead Parkway, there is a large wash just south of Laughlin Ranch Blvd. Follow that wash east and the canyon narrows into a slot. Enjoy!
@@mtdirtfarmer do you know how many miles to get there just to give me an estimate?
@@pushynemo8039 67 miles.
If a quick rain came up, how would you get out of there in time????
It's a slot canyon in an area prone to flash floods. You don't want to be in there when it is flooding. Looks like this canyon funnels runoff from 8 miles away. It is an extremely good idea to keep an eye on storm clouds and pay attention to weather forecasts. To answer your question; if it suddenly started to flood you wouldn't be able to get out of there in time. Considering all that, if there is no rain or rain clouds in the area, it isn't a big deal to be in there and the scenery is stunning.
2 minutes and 3 seconds.
