I am sitting in the middle of a hurricane and your recitations are all I need to survive. You all carry on the tradition of our ancestors. There is a saying in Persian: All that you cannot lose in a shipwreck is all that you truly own. This cultural legacy is a testament to that statement.

i think abu Muhammad and farid ayaz are the greatest qawwal alive
also they sing many new qalams which nobody else sings
i request dream journey to record as many qawalis of them as possible
and some small interviews (of 4 - 5 minutes) on qawali and raags and bandish
so that people will understand them and appreciate what they are doing

definitely they are the 'maestros'. for me, after listening to Ustad Nusrat Sahab for almost 18 years, I found them in that league of Ustad sahib. hope to listen them live soon....

He might not get his due in his life. But one thing I am sure of is he will be regarded as one of the top qawwals in the history... !!!

Family they belong is a legendary itself. They are real gems and rare too. Allah bless us all. love from Kashmir.
As the days pass by, the more I realise how invaluable this resource has become. The Dream Journey is doing more to preserve our heritage and culture, than any other institute or body that I can think of.
Many of us born and raised in the west lose the full grasp of our mother languages. We can hold a conversation but lack the ability to go in depth; so the translations on the videos brings us a step closer to fully appreciate the mastery on display.
One humble request of mine if possible, is to show any conversations and banter pre, during and post performances. And if at all possible record in-depth conversations (especially with Fareed Ayaz) on Qawwali, philosophy, history, religion etc. This in my opinion would add more layers and depth to the preservation efforts you are undertaking.
May your dream journey be a safe and fulfilling one.

From 08:24 it feels as if he is in conversation with his ancestors and Sufis in a language of musical notes that is only understood by the dead and the inflicted, and then he passes the mic to his brother at 08:59. Loading meaningful words with a bundle of scenery and emotions is like creating a mirror because each meaning paired with an emotion gives a hundred different shades. And this can only be done by a pure artist.
