I’ve flown on a 787 three times. Twice with El-Al (Israel 787-9) and once with LOT Polish (787-8). The technology of the plane is next level stuff. The quietness of the engines on takeoff and landing is amazing. Makes it very comfortable.
I think they should have complimentary light snacks/meal for flights of more than 2 hours.

@@randomknife4667 no, they'd plan ahead for that, snacks don't really cost that much and you actually typically go through less if you just have a free-for-all snack bar because people won't always get up and get to the snack bar, compared to if you walk around the cabin to lass out the snacks
Air Canada did a "test" they sold flight from Tel Aviv to New York and Montreal for 70$ for one way (both flights are 12 hours flight and the average cost of them is around 1500$) and it was sold out in less then a hour... lol I almost flew to New York...
Why I didn´t know from this test. I would have bought a ticket! ;-)

Nicu Je87 yeah, Air Canada really is one of the best airlines out there. A safety video with bilingual instructions (English and Quebec French), nice first class service, IFE systems with...okay selections (sorry, it's just that when I was on a 3-hour flight from Vancouver to Toronto when I was going to New York City, I looked at the children's movie selection and there were only seven movies available, and they were ones I didn't like, like Brave, Rise Of The Guardians and Nickelodeon's Barnyard. When it comes to IFE systems, I personally prefer the ones WestJet provides)

I’ve flown on the 787-9 twice (EL-AL) and the 787-8 once (LOT Polish). It’s amazing how quiet the engines on the 787 are. It’s the most comfortable aircraft I’ve ever flown on.
I've watched this for the past 4 years already.
I like the old livery but the new one is starting to grow on me...
Also I wonder why the flaps are still down when pulling into the gate at LAX?
I agree, Air Canada's new livery is too simple. Black paint on the tail where the Air Canada logo and most of the plane is plain white. At least their old livery had that fancy pattern on it

The plane on the map is an A320 with 787 wings. Very strange.
YEAH!! The "Dreamliner" simply IS a very beautiful and magical plane. Unfortunately unlike you and until today I hadn,t had the opportunity to fly with the Boeing 787. It,s a pleasure for me you have had a comfortable stay on board. And I am much more in love with the brandnew "Air Canada" paint-sheme.

Fly Around I live in Canada and take Air Canada all the time, the cabin may look nice but service is usually pretty crappy.

I'm about to fly Air Canada from Brisbane - Vancouver. Hope it's decent for this 14 hour flight...
Wow the 45 minute wifi is very annoying. In Halifax where I live there's super fast free wifi. By the way you should fly to Halifax sometime! (Its in Canada)
Great video. FYI: I know the drink service is limited but you can always get as many as you want on domestic flights. Trust me, I do it all the time.

MonkHQ 787 is actually about the same size since it's a replacement for the 757s
The 787 is a replacement for the 767 and competes against the a330.
The 757 has no replacement yet (A321LR in the near future; 797?)
ohh right right, mixed up those two; and yes a 797 is in development apparently
Yeah, it’s in development, however it’s hasn’t been disclosed what’s the market it’ll aim for :)
no but it's pretty obvious they're making a 757 replacement, there's no other marker segment left that they haven't modernized very recently

We've already published a couple of A350 Trip Reports (Lufthansa, Qatar, China Airlines). We were even on the special flight of Lufthansa's first A350. All these videos can be found on our channel. We will also fly Singapore Airlines A350 this year.
Love Air Canada. Hate Rouge and not big on the paint scheme. Most people buy a water at the Airport or swipe one from a lounge. Never rely on the airlines' service for a drink. Took them over an hour to get us a drink after take off from Narita in First.

You can bring your own food and drinks on the plane... i always do lol
SyntaxOverflow kinda. It depends on what you're bringing and where you're going. You have to make sure the liquids you bring with you are in containers that are 100mL or less, in a clear plastic bag when you bring them through security. And of course, you can't bring certain fruits or meats across the boarder for agricultural reasons. But cookies, crackers, bread, cheese blocks, hard candies, gummy candies, Jell-O, pretzels, chips and snack cakes are all permitted and there is no limit

As a canadian, naturally seeing one have this kind of experience opn our national airline is a pleasure. I have floiwn air Canada a number of times back in the 80's but not recently. the last time IO remember was in 1984 froim Monctoin NMB to Montreal returning from a maritime vacation.
When I was stoweing a cold pack of lobster in the overhewad bin, (at about 18:00 ADT) the stewardess had a comment with a chuckle!
"I see you bought your supper with you!"
Well, not exactly. I raelly don't think the galley would have appreciated the idea of cooking Lobster in flight! If you have ever cooked live lobster first hand you know the opdour would be, say "rather pungent!" Besides that might not be the best time to be eating Lobster as it is very rich!.
(Note: Canadian Lobster is never found south of Cape Hatteras. These lobsters are cold water scavengers and could not survive in the warmer waters. also a few drops of fresh water is enough to kill them.) Instead, further south you will get the Caribberan lobster. unlike the Canadian lobster it has almost nmo claws but iut has a plump fat body so both are yummy when eaten properly. However first time be careful some people are very allergic to different kinds of seafood, and each person is his own guinea pig.
In Singapore Airport the wifi is 3 hours not 45 minutes and if you have I changi app it's 24 hours
4:50 $30 for seat reservation is a tad much OML. Jetstar is like $5 and I thought thsy was bad

2 Getränke Services finde ich für 4h irgendwie ok aber es gibt auch Airlines die etwas wesentlich besseres bieten wie Singapore Airlines. Dort würde es auf so einen Flug eine Mahlzeit (also mit 2 Wahlmöglichkeiten und freien Getränken) geben und die Crew würde 5-6 mal durch die Kabine gehen und Wasser ausschenken. Das finde ich guten Service und kann ich auch bei einem Preis von 300-400/500€ erwarten.
In Nordamerika Air Canada bietet den besten service, versuchen sie mal mit American oder Delta zu fliegen. Air Canada hier ist unvergleichbar, und von meiner Erfahrung viel besser als die meisten fluggesellschaften Europas.
Liongamer 123 Ja, aber für 5 Stunden wird es dann doch zu wenig. Und 3 mal in 9 Stunden ist ja wohl eine Frechheit! Außerdem gab es bei mir auf einem 9 Stunden - Flug keine Art von Entertainment System! Und auf dem 5 stündigen Anschlussflug schon, allerdings wesentlich schlechter als in diesem Video, und vor allem ohne Kopfhörer! Die Beinfreiheit war auf den beiden Flügen auch nicht vorhanden. In der B787 scheint das ja besser zu sein, allerdings halt auch nur da!
Das mit dem Service bei anderen Airlines stimmt völlig, auch bei der Lufthansa wäre es auf einem Flug dieser Dauer so. Es gibt auch Airlines wie South african airways, wo man dann auf einem 1 1/2 Stunden Flug um 9:00 Uhr richtiges Mittagessen bekommt. Und spätestens jetzt ist Air Canada absolut lächerlich!

h Mishin Denke ich nicht, ich bin letztens erst mit Deltas 757-200 von Atlanta nach Detroit geflogen und der Service war genau so, das IFE war gut und hatte eine geniale Crew!
Bowser Nur 3x Getränke bei 9h? Bei Ethiopian Airlines gab es 3x Getränke auf einen 2,5h Flug mit warmer Mahlzeit und auf dem Flug nach Frankfurt (ca. 7,5h) sogar 2 Mahlzeiten und 6-7 Getränkeservices
Awesome video, I really appreciated it! I'm flying to Scotland soon and I'm trying to choose an airline, so this was insightful about AC. (Although I do know on those flights there's some complimentary food.) Question though... why not just bring a water bottle? Platypus and Hydrapak make ones which roll or compress up tiny to save room and most airports these days have water bottle refilling stations on their airsides. :)
If you're going to Scotland with Air Canada you'll get a Rouge 767-300, not a 787
