To my ear many artists have what is essentially a "pinnacle" album (a highest point of achievement). This isn't to say everything that follows isn't good, but rather an album that's a culmination of their personal vibe, inspirationally, as it intersects with a song set; the corresponding creative art. JT was that album, imo, due to what was going on in his personal life. This album was among the first I'd ever owned and I still love it.
Hello MT! Though James Taylor himself does a UA-cam lesson on this song, the average player cannot get it as he only demos visually. You break it down, chord by chord, note by note, pluck by pluck! Give yourself some REAL credit. How JT composes like that is amazing and how you figured it all out is equally amazing. It is an incredibly beautiful song mainly because of the unique sound of the guitar chords. Thank you. James Deagle
MT - really beautifully sweet tune. Definitely on the more advanced side with all the chord changes (ty patreon!) and bar chords, and great JT voicings (had no idea re the bosa connection with him, very cool). Love the new logo and edits to JT quite slick, in a good way. Can't wait for your album "MT" release!
This is so great to hear thank you Sam! As a long time JT fan myself, I was amazed at the intricacies of this guitar part. Thanks for the kind note and support!
I try a lot of James Taylor's songs and have spent decades trying to even get close to his finger S T Y L E and beautiful chord progressions. It's not simple, but your lesson certainly helps people like me. Thanks for taking the time - sounded really great
Very Nice job I commend your hard earned reward .... I was actually having a hard time following JT's instructions and looked to find a more tutorial presentation rather than JT's explanation . Now I will go back and see if I can find a little more from his demo. I will try to send you a finished copy of what I can muster up in a couple weeks. Thanks again MT JP
Wow! This is really a great lesson! I tried to follow James Taylor’s very own lesson but I think your lesson is much clearer and easier to follow. What I like is that you also sing with it, in that way I can easily follow the right shifting points and your passion is very inspirational! Thanks a lot ❤
After months of searching for a tutorial, you are the Guitar GOD! Thank you!🙏🏾🎸🙏🏾 Edit: the stretch is a B!T€H to do, but I like a challenge Edit: i love learning the song. Still trying to get the stretch in.
Hi, aym a JT fanatic, can u come up with a guitar plucking instruction for the song " Long ago" (a young man sits!). How i i've tried to learn how to play this since high school somehow has not up til now been completely made perfect. Wish u could do me favor by posting a video of JT's original version. Thankz in advance!
Beautiful JT song! So great the long intro 😊 . Nice to hear you mentioning your album. 🎶 ua-cam.com/video/sytf34d5Bv4/v-deo.html ❤ grateful is such a beautiful song and the beginning is as catchy as jt does his intros.
No one does JT like MT! So good!
Thanks Christopher!

Thank You! I'm having this sung at my funeral some day. It's beautiful and the words are the "secret" indeed. Now it's in my own guitar repertoire.
