Though somehow I don't feel like an almost 30 year old would ever say "Hits different" especially in 2004 when this is set

Anyone else think it's kind of a bummer that the Handcannon isn't the magnum that does the most damage anymore? The Handcannon only has 36 power now, down from it's 99 in the original. The Broken Butterfly with it's exclusive upgrade is at 40 so it actually out damages the Hand Cannon in both Damage per shot, and in DPS since the Broken Butterfly can be fired Faster than the Handcannon.

The Verdugo in the OG takes 9 shots unfrozen. And nitrogen tanks multiplies our damage by 3 so it will take (theoretically) 3 shots from a max upgraded handcannon. The remake severely nerfed the handcannon
I mean, in OG's Handcannon's max firepower was 99.9, compared to Remakes' 36.
The only reason Leon still has his handgun during the cutscenes is to serve as a warning shot for those who dare stand in his way.

Well, el gigante in the remake makes more sense, why would you have an uncontollable beast that attacks you the moment it gets a chance, it makes more sense having someone that is actually capable of controlling it
Almost every cutscene in the original is 100x better than the remake. Remake scenes are too rushed and minimalist, whereas in the og they put so much effort into almost all scenes

I saw that the Broken Butterfly improved at maximum, it kills with just one shot. I didn't understand why the HandCannon kills with 2 shots, it was supposed to be the strongest weapon in the game after the rocket launcher. 🤔
The handcannon in the OG has 99.9 of fire power, so yeah you can hunt an elephant with that

Same with the Killer7, the 5x crit chance means one headshot each for the Bella sisters... Kinda disappointing that the HC takes two

@@dr.hugog.hackenbush9443 alright bigger, but not as much energy. It has about 2,200 ish J of energy, where as the 500 magnum has 3'100 to 4,000 of energy. The 500 magnum is longer and only slightly smaller in diameter.
One thing it does have over the broken butterfly it’s it’s penetrating power, it can shoot right through Armadura helmets

It's nice to see guns actually taking down monsters, I always felt that unless it's a monster with bulletproof/metal like skin then guns would still be able to fuxk them up no matter how scary they are, like for Mr X it makes sense I suppose but I feel like IRL monsters would go down like they do in this video, hell even the huge guys might actually only take one headshot irl with a magnum

Handcannon isn’t as strong as the original unfortunately. Maxed Killer7 with infinite ammo is much better. The only gun you need.
Remember: They were not monsters. They refused to pay protection money.
This reminds me my time playing resident 4 and suffering a lot to reach five stars in mercenaries mod to get the handcannon and thinking "finally i have my vendetta!"

On my first hard mode play through I thought it'd be fun to buy a rocket (I did it in the OG game a lot) for the Sadler fight.
Well that kinda sucked all the fun out of it because I shot 4 magnum rounds then fired the rocket and the boss was dead. Ugh.
@@reidhanson4755, yeah it ruins the fun. Maybe only use the rocket launcher for overcrowding or powerful bosses while using magnum or handguns on the small fries.

@@holleringsmith3837No. The ultimate boss of any game, should be very difficult to beat regardless of the difficulty setting. The fact that he can be beaten by a single rocket launcher, is dumb honestly. I, however, did like the fact that you had to escape the island in 2 minutes. That made up for the lackluster final boss.

I feel like the only thing this gun is good for now is for the first village section where you have to ring the church bell. As awful as it is in the remake, having access to a magnum that early on in the game is actually quite handy.

The handcannon should of been 50.0 on damage when fully upgraded with the bonus being infinite ammo and made it hard unlock. It was difficult to get in the original but it was doable for the average player.
Now it's even more easier to unlock, just get 3 S ranks on mercenaries
