My mother made everything from scratch, as well. I would never tell her if I made something from a box. I agree Tina, I like canned cranberry sauce too. My Mom used to make cranberry sauce with ground cranberries, oranges, jello and such. It was good, but the canned is good too. :) You're lucky to be married to such a great cook. Would love to see some of Rob's Momma's recipes!
Hi guys Rob technically cookies from a tube are homemade you have to bring them home and cook them at home. So technically they are homemade. Cranberry sauce from a can is the only way I had it growing up . I did make it from scratch one year too much work. Especially on Thanksgiving one less thing to make, open the can and you're done.
Cranberries are so easy to make. wash berries sort out the ad ones. Heat water and suga according to package instructions. Add washed/sorted cranberries and stir often. Let cool to thicken. Can be made early on Thanksgiving or even the night before. I am diabetic so I use Truvia instead of sugar. Just remember if it calls for 1 cup of sugar use only 1/2 cup trivia. So delicious.

These are honestly my kind of date nights! The idea of going on always sounds appealing at first with the ease of not having to cook, but then the time going and coming, getting dressed and then changing, crowds, traffic, not to mention the food is NEVER as good as home made. I’ll take staying home and cooking, maybe the occasional ordering out, and save time movie and hassle. Nothing like food at home in comfy clothes and atmosphere to enhance time together!❤

I do both canned and freshly made cranberries sauce. One brings back childhood memories and then made with fresh cranberries. They're both good! 😊 My favorite meal.. steak baked potato and salad! Yummy!!
My son who's going to be 28 years old cooks awesome food on the grill and in the house also. Him and his friends bought a huge smoker grill this past summer and they all buy what they want and he cooks it for them. They say it's way better then going out to eat. The chef's at the restaurants can't compete with him. Maybe ones that can actually cook how they want and now follow specific things they may be able to compete. Steaks and stuff and so expensive to buy now and going out to eat costs you a fortune now so it's so much better to make it at home and really enjoy it. Karly and Koda don't care if cookies are out of a tube. You can do home made with them at Christmas and see how hard it is with kids their ages. Hands in their mouths constantly licking the dough and then right back in the bowl before washing their hands. They will learn home made as they get a bit older. You made an amazing looking meal Rob.

As always enjoyed the video, and yes home made from scratch is better, but also with the little ones it’s easier and they want know the difference, save those special home made ones for went they are 7 or 8, but you can alway pre measured the ingredients, putting each in plastic bags and let them put each in bowl as called for, even letting them braking the eggs and betting them, and stirring the mixture in the bowl, and helping with the rest, the best part is when their faces light up when they tell everyone that they made the cookies.❤️❤️

Great date night meal , rob you dud a great job on the steaks and onions with mushrooms on the grill! The salad and potatoes looked delicious also ! I love wholeberry canned cranberry sauce but I must say I love homemade wholeberry cranberry sauce best, it just taste better to me , I grew up eating canned but when I tasted homemade and found out how easy it is to make it’s my go to now , I buy several bags this time of year and freeze them so I have real cranberry’s all year round when I want them for sauce or for baking !! Back in that era, they did make everything from scratch. My mother was the same way, but throughout the years I have cut corners and I have bought myself to make cookies for the grandkids so don’t feel bad.🤓

I agree love grilling at home . I have tried barbeque out and don't care for it and steaks well that gotta be perfect I love steaks! They either over do them are under do them . Love the onions and mushrooms also. I have made cranberry sauce from scratch and you can't beat it forget the can!
Charcoal grilling is the best. Love ribeyes. You need to get some hot plates to serve the steaks on. My daddy used to have a big 50 gallon barrel cut in half for a grill. He used to heat up the metal plates in the oven before serving us ribeyes. So so good. ❤❤❤

I agree love grilling at home . I have tried barbeque out and don't care for it and steaks well that gotta be perfect I love steaks! They either over do them are under do them . Love the onions and mushrooms also. I have made cranberry sauce from scratch and you can't beat it forget the can!

Charcoal grilling is the best. Love ribeyes. You need to get some hot plates to serve the steaks on. My daddy used to have a big 50 gallon barrel cut in half for a grill. He used to heat up the metal plates in the oven before serving us ribeyes. So so good. ❤❤❤
