The butchered headstock on the Ibanez was a better plot twist than the ones I've seen in recent movies.
can confirm that's Satch's signature, I met him at a clinic and had him sign a CD - it looked exactly like that with the little eyeball dots above the end to make it look like a funny face.
He signed some stuff after shows as well, like my Surfing cassette. His sig has changed a little over the years, but still looks a lot like that.

That Peter Max Jackson was interesting. I've never seen a guitar in which the entire headstock/fretboard is solid greenbursted haha. Super cool!
If I had $5k to blow, that Batman guitar would already be shipping to my house! I was a huge fan as a kid, I have family ties to the franchise, and I'm still a fan to this day. I watch then entire TV series and movie at least once every year or so.

I actually kinda get the price on that JSX Peavey. It's not just the modded amp. It's the story behind it, the history, personally owned by a legend.. i think 5K is kinda reasonable. IMHO.
Especially considering the gold boy signature is 5k
C.P Thornton bass guitars are very nice. I remember when Chuck started building. I went to school and would occasionally jam with his brother. Very good people.
I'm an Alembic fan and would dearly love to have one. BUT unless Stanley Clarke donated some blood to be used in the finish, that's a nuts price for anything let alone a bass.
That's a pretty OK price for an alembic like that. They are and have always been an ultra-premium brand, far out of reach for the vast majority of players. Their designs are weird and wild and they have so many knobs, and a rackmount pre-amp and power supply. They are a trip.
As a proud Ibanez guitar owner, I would never take a cutting tool and just hack apart my guitars. I've put custom graphics on my guitars but never would I just cut away at them. That one hurt!
Right, I mean the Ibby headstock is pretty good in my book, I'm an old man but I dig em. But that is hideous, not worth $5.

I think the Peter Max Jackson would probably sell quickly in the right venue: art auction at Sothebys, for example. Max is so popular with 60s/ psychedelic art collectors that the fact that this art happens to be on an, at best, moderately priced guitar would be of no concern. 1 of 4, signed, COA.....tremendous provenance... Easy sale at a high-end art gallery or auction.
Could conceivably bring more than Reverb price asked.

As a massive batman fan that guitar is super cool, I would not pay $5000 for it but it's amazing.
Pretty much all of Peter max’s paintings are in that price range. But no guitar collector would go for that. It’s more for the art collector. “Check out my Peter max! It’s not on canvas, it’s on a guitar!” 😂
Yeah man Peter Max is worth $$. I wouldn’t know for sure but I’m thinking that the asking price on that guitar is a good starting point for negotiations. But what do I know🤷🏼♂ I’m certainly not a art collector
@@josephperrigo7008 was racing to the comments to see if anyone knew his work. Legit artist, super nostalgic - the Dylan cover, the Apollo 11 painting etc. This doesn't seem outlandish at all price-wise but probably the wrong crowd for his stuff.

The Peavy XXX was in production, I rented one for a weekend rehearsal & fell in love but couldn't afford it 20 yeas ago. My brother bought one & then the Peavy XXX 2.

The Bugera 333XL is a schematic clone basically, for waaaay less. I got a refurbished one from Sweetwater for $350, and a Harley Benton V30 212 cab, shitkicker rig for around 5-600 bucks. I keep the nice stuff at home, and take the knockoff cheapo stuff out to gig with. Sounds stupid, I know, but It'd rather the bass player spill a beer on my Bugera than my JSX. (Yes, I have seen bass players spill beer on amps on more than one occasion)
@@These_go_to_eleven_1959 Nope, shortly after it's release they put out the JSX head (Joe Satriani) I think m brother has all 3 & won a Revv 120 Generator with all of the bells & whistles in 2019 as a Christmas giveaway. He sold the XXX 2 head I believe.

I have bought, in my life, exactly one bass. It was a Kramer Duke. 300 bux. And it's awesome. Stupid-looking, and I kinda want a grown-up bass, but it does THE THING.

That price in the ad was marked down from $8999.00. No takers hence the price drop. Probably needs to make another price slash before selling it.
The batman guitar had more of a footstock than a headstock.
Peavey Amp - Prototype - I think $1000-2000 would probably be more a proper price, Prototype and Satriani being tied to it and that might be a bit high in speculation, Personally I feel like $1500 is fair for what it is.
Alembic - Just not into it, and I don't even know what a secondary market looks like for these, I have heard of them, I have seen them but I have never heard people say they weren't cool looking, but never like $15k + cool. Honestly wouldn't know where to start. This is one of those things where when you buy it its not for a resale market item as no one beyond 1% of the population reasonably can buy it, its a trophy tool for a studio or a wall hanging trophy that is never played.
Batman guitar - cool but not for players its just a collectible trophy for Batman fans that happen to play guitar, honestly though even if I was in the market not paying over $2500 and that is me seriously stretching it.
Jackson - NOPE HARD NOPE, art guitars are worthless, there is a specific kind of person that would play it, namely stupid, and then you have the Collectible Art crowd and just for reference in respect to art I can buy Well known Lithographs or art pieces from dead famous artists for less than $3-5k depending on rarity and circulation. Hard Nope this is for the abstract art crowd and it is way way too hard a sell, its trying to be too many things, you need someone into Artistry, into guitars and music, and also someone with disposable cash of the 1% of the world...just nope. I seriously pity morons that buy these as an investment piece, trying to find buyers for this is a nightmare.
Ibanez - Uhm the Tuning machines are worth more than the guitar actually is because of how badly the headstock is mangled. Its worth what the Body may be with the hardware and the tuning machines the neck is garbage, so this is about maybe $200-250 in parts, nothing more.
D.M. smashed Neck - Its worth about $200-500 he smashes alot of them as long as you can prove where and when he smashed it and have evidence of such, not worth anything more.
Vader Guitar - Nope its not even worth $100 it reminds me of the Gorky Russian guitar.
Rumble seat in Nashville has David Gilmour's personal Gibson J200 for sale for only $ 325,000.
The xxx was my first ever actual tube head I made a right choice but let it eventually go, and now have a evh 50w head and kemper 🤘
The stupidest recent listing I saw was a Steel Panther 1987 pedal for $750, when you can still get them new for $198.70 from SPs webstore.
I’m old enough to remember when you could get a USA Dave Mustaine King V brand new for less than that anarchy splinter.
I had an '88 Alembic Spoiler (made famous by Jason Newsted among others) 5string bass, in magnificent condition - absolutely no marks even in the back - with a gorgeous 5A quilted maple top. She was a stunner (in fact looked far better than it actually played...)
Sold eventually for less than 2k.

They're very nice, but every time, literally every time, I've bought something from them I've had to go back to the store for one reason or another because of a mistake they made. Listing 5 almost looks like it was a six string originally and had the 7th string/tuner added later. Theres a hole where a tuner use to be between two other strings. If so, i didnt know you could make this work., turning a 6 into a 7 string.

been going to Banana's for years, lived in Marin county for 32 years and now live in Vancouver Wa. Banana's always has several top name items for sale in there. they had Joe"s amp in there that he recorded " surfin with the aliens" with as well as a couple of Neil Schon's proto type custom les pauls that were priced over 10,000 dollars
I don't know how much a XXX would be worth in 2023 money, but I know they were always flying under the radar and under list price in 2007 when I got mine.
Those Alembic instruments are pretty awesome…. Even though its a goofy shape it still looks awesome….
I'll be honest, I am a HUGE Satriani Fanboy. I have a signed Ibanez from Joe, every album (all 18 releases, bonus releases and some of them on multiple formats) and also have an 8x10 from the Satchafunkilus album shoot. But, honestly? I play Ibanez, DiMarzio and MARSHALL! I am a much bigger fan of Joe's Marshall tones. 5 grand for one of Joe's amps? Maybe if I won Powerball, maybe not even then!

So Alembic takes the most expensive wood in the world and adds exemplary craftsmanship to make the ugliest instruments I've ever seen? No wonder I've never heard of them.

That Ibanez in listing 5... "modified headstock for weight relief".... Would have been much easier and more effective to get rid of the locking tuners and replace them with some lightweight open gear Hipshots. Man, people are clowns.
My favorite amp is my Peavey ValveKing 2X12 , like it better than my JCM 800 half stack in fact for cleans. 5000$ for a Peavey head ? No effing way :)
I own one of those ARZs. They’re really shit for intonation, but they’re fun to play. I also sanded the neck and switched out the tuners and pickups.
You know what I didn’t do? SAW OFF HALF THE FUCKIN’ HEADSTOCK.
