To the casual observer, airbrushing the tremolo springs probably seems like being too lazy to mask them off, but its actually an ancient tone ninja technique to really nail the solos. Thats tone paint.

That Schecter "modification" made me physically angry. I've dealt with this kind of person before; the kind that doesn't know what a truss rod is, but insists that anything past 1978 is garbage.

I've actually had the thought to convert a 7 string to a 6 before, got daddy long legs fingers so a slightly wider spacing makes sense... if you're really baked.
I wanted to convert a 4 string into a 5 but its alot of work :/

That wide string is famous in the schecter fan page on facebook. And creates faster arguments than fret wraps.
I think saying, "It's a 7 string that's been modified into a 6 string." Is really stretching the definition of "MODIFY"

You know what's really ridiculous? When a guy in the maple valley area lists a randall century for a reasonable price, then flakes every time you make the trip down to go buy it. I think I have 10 hours in trying to buy that amp a few years ago. Thanks

Ya, there aren't many good deals to be found on Reverb anymore. A solid 80% of listings are just a cash grab job. It is what it is, but what really makes me mad is how this Reverb nonsense has trickled down in to local listings as well....
That Schecter listing was posted in an ESP group on Facebook and a bunch of mouth breathers started bashing Schecter, not even bothering to read the description. They thought it was a factory mod.

Jesus… that C-7 conversion honestly made me sad. Aside from the pickups, those guitars are really good, and now it’s been, as far as I’m concerned, ruined.
C-6 and C-7 pickups have been improved in recent memory
That Rocca guitar reminded me of those Marconi labs ones.
I understand the 7 to 6 conversion too my friend had one he did himself years ago just due to the massive size of his hands.

I can see converting a 7 string into a six, for people that are used to and want an acoustic guitar feel. But that guitar is jacked the F up!

I can't hate on that converted seven string. That's pretty resourceful imo. Realign the tuners, and of course get a new bridge, but otherwise, I'm not mad.
I think it’s more that the guy did a super sh*tty job on the conversion, then decided to immediately list it for twice the retail cost of the butchered guitar as if the conversation actually added value.
I usually giggle while watching these, I shouldnt have taken a sip of my Iced Tea while watching the Walken bit XD

Crazy folk have been converting 7s into wide neck 6s for years, I remember seeing a few truly horrifying ebay listings pop up on the SSO forums a while back. I feel like I just had a Vietnam flashback.
Id like another series of videos of any of thee folks who reach back out to you to rebuttal their listings
The 6 string conversions from 7 strings are a thing recently. A luthier I sometimes watch had a customer ask him to convert their Matt Heafy 7 string Les Paul into a 6 string. Diabolical.

Converting a 7-string to a 6 for wider string spacing is a neat idea, but it was executed horribly here. The strings don't even go over the pole pieces on the pickups. I guess I shouldn't be surprised though, since the craftsmanship on the rest of the mod was so jank.
