- I've been using Ray in almost every clear I've done so I thought I'd make an analysis on why I think she is the strongest sniper in the game until we get W in chap 14

I saw a video by sciel where she does 153k damage against patriot.
Granted she is buffed with every drug imaginable but its insane.
Thank you for making the video. I'm a whale (I love this game and fully support it) and I learned my lesson on skipping new operators with Executor Alter. I pull on every new op now. I am looking forward to Ray.

Im pulling for Ray and Wisadel, but man... nothing can really replace the satisfaction of hearing and seeing Schwarz S3. Idk, none of the recently released snipers have that oomph sfx+vfx that makes it sound and look powerful (wisadel is the closest, really cool vfx, but the sound is a tad behind schwarz s3).
Schwarz S3 and Irene S3 are the most satisfying skills to use in the game despite both being directly powercrept.

Small but important distinction to make at 8:05, Ray's S3 does not give her +atk% but rather an atk scale, meaning she'll get almost full benefit from any +atk% buffs like Warfarin's S2 as her talent only caps at +27% atk.
So whereas Schwarz has diminishing returns with her own massive S3 +atk% buff, Pozy's typewriter can't receive such buffs and Typhon is likely to expire any such buff with her lengthy S3 duration, Ray can most likely fully utilise them for her entire S3 duration.
I'm also curious if you have any thoughts on her S1 (pushing on sniper lmao) and S2 (infinite duration with faster sandbeast), as it seems to raise her ceiling even further.
From what i have seen, Ray S1 is a pretty good push but nobody ever used her for that because, why would you?
Even shaw can push 2 at once and can block.
Ray S2 is good for her ammo management to circumvent Hunter's limited ammo but again, why would you?
Even Humus and gummy can take care of swarm of weak enemies, and enemies's staggered wave can easily mess with her S2 rythm.
Edit : I've just tried Ray S2. The biggest drawback of this skill is her innate ammo gimmick. If any tiles in Ray's atk range contain steady flow of enemies, this skill will suck because not even the sandbeast can help her ammo management. She will be locked into perpetual reload especially if a High HP enemy is in her range. Use her S3 Instead.
i dont have Ray tho, so i cant give personal experience. 52 pull spent to get a 6star dupe and a single warmy ....
right at the first release of her, I've realized that she would be a good sniper if making a good use with that potential kit. she can just literally snipe enemies while staying at a safe spot with skill 3 and you can manually indicate the targets. Apart from damage, she has one thing that Typhon literally don't have is a quite good skill uptime with her skill 3, both still have Achilles' heel is that their powerhouse could be ruined with trash mobs if those get inside their range, but Ray's kit make it somewhat more manageable.

My feelings on Ray are as such: Every day since she was released on CN has been filled with untold suffering, a void in my heart longing to be filled by her presence. In about 36 hours I will be filled with rapture unlike I have ever felt before. She is my love, my soulmate, I can't wait to use her!!! 😭😭😭

Small nitpick but her S3 doesn't affect her attack speed, but rather her reload speed. Attack speed is somewhat antithetical to the archetype, since faster attack means more likelihood of losing your clip and thus needing to reload - but with her S3 her it offsets the downside by both loading to a full clip and making getting extra bullets faster if she's attacking long enough to empty it again.

I think she is cool. But I am a Typhon enjoyer. I am broke on all resources and saving up for Shu. She is a welcome spook though. I would raise her asap because bunny.

For sniperknights dealing with invisible enemies there's two options, deal with Rosmontis's rng and block em with s3 or use the much easier and simpler option of Totter just being able to hit em
forgot to mention that she beats Typhon in cycling and bosskilling speed.
Her ASPD not being reduced by her skill makes her MUCH FASTER at dealing all her damage. That's on top of the fact that her bosskiller skill cost literally HALF that of Typhon's!!
No, that's just completely wrong. Her cycling doesn't out DPS Typhon over time. She beats her in the first skill activation in burst damage and falls off after the first cycle in comparison to Typhon S3.
I saw a lot of videos testing Ray's damage, she doesnt surpass Typhon's damage, however, she has more utilities than her

idk about you guys but id rather not wait 40 seconds for a skill whose all ammo i wont even get to use. id rather wait 20 seconds to kill Patriot in 16 seconds instead.
maybe if Typhon's ammo and cooldown could be controlled like the earlier you activate the skill, the less ammo you get, she'd ABSOLUTELY be better but nah

@@simonchan6099 Actually no. Wisadel ST total damage is 110k+ and 20k+ Arts damage from Summons. Ray Module 3 ST damage is around 80k ish

Ray is cool, but typhon more versatile in any way for average player just with s2 only. IS story and sss, she covered any content. And the timing for ray is shit 2 r6 collab and 2 normal limited with shu and w

Ray S2 won’t be relevant until her module is released and S1 is very niche compared to s3 so that’s why I didn’t talk about them

@@billybobjoe4847 typhon is really fucking good at dealing damage and she will do that, she also has the good lazy s2. Ray can’t reach her total dmg but the damage she can do is most of the time more than enough and she also has great cc with her s3 and the best range out of every 6* sniper
Layback gameplay - Typhon, buttcheeks clenched gameplay - Ray. Both do great damage, while Typhon more total damage and ridiculously wide map coverage, meanwhile Ray burst damage and basically "pick the target" coverage. Both can make you happy using them that’s for sure 👍
Typhon is very simple. Tons of damage, damage, and more damage.
Ray is a bit more complex. Micro managing, flexibility, tons of damage, and tons of utility.
Depending on how your brain works, Typhon could be better than Ray and Ray could be better than Typhon

Also her aspd has nothing to do with her reload speed, her skill 3 increases her reload speed, that's why she has faster reload speed, not because of a non existent aspd buff.
I'd personally disagree with the assessment that her s3 is far and away the best too, it probably is the best but her s2 post module is fantastic as well in the right hands, and her s1 definitely has its appeals. It really just depends what you need.

Ray would be a good SNIPER at release, if typhon was not available. And oh, also for global, if we didnt know Walter is going to be released later.
Ray's specialty with S3 seems to be against bosses mainly, but not sure why there's the bonus of 10SP recovery with at least 1 kill.
Her summon is essentially Shamare's voodoo doll mechanic with some different effects like priority focus and range extend, but her attack is very basic. It's just basic shots and bind unlike typhon's tracking shots or flashy animations.
There's one additional thing no one seems to have mentioned. Arknights has been going on a character release powercreep trend recently, so it is possible that more powerful characters are on the way, and some powerful modules might be upcoming.
Ray is strong but she's single target. Compare this to all the other boss killers with AOE and outside of being able to snipe further, Ray is actually quite bad in terms of total potential damage.
Ray is litterally better than thyphoon lmfao. Thyphoon is already at best same tier as Rosa dude, she is overrated to oblivion

Rosa's main purpose is S3 for binding and that's mainly it, Typhon is used for damage. Why would you compare them together? Unless it's S2 which Typhon would powercreep due to her permanent duration.

1] Rosa S2 deals more damage and dps than Thyphoon S2 and Thyphoon s2 damage becomes irrelevant the moment she starts attacking multiple targets while rosa doesnt care, Thyphoon does NOT powercreep rosa lmfao
2] "Moving targets" yeah its usable on SOME bosses. Guess what many other bosses have? Multiple enemies right next to them. And guess what happens when Thyphoon uses S3 on them? She attacks random enemies and her total damage falls off alot wich rosa doesnt have the issue of

Typhoon LITERALLY requires you to have unique enemy placements and be mindful of howmany enemies are there as ther S2 and S3 damage falls off very drastically if she doesnt attack a single enemy while Rosa ignores all of that. Rosa is magnitudes easier to use and inflicts her full total damage without the external factors like enemy amount crippling her DPS

I will be pulling for Ray, from the moment she debuted, I knew she was going to be a lot of fun paired with good damage, love her design as well, and snipers are just super fun in Arknights as a whole, she will be best friends with Typhon 🤍
