IAEA Conference Shapes the Future of Nuclear Security - ICONS 2024

Nuclear technology is fantastically versatile. It can provide clean energy, deliver more nutritious food, identify and fight disease and combat environment pollution. As a result, demand for nuclear technology is rising around the world.
But as the use of these technologies expand, how do we make sure that the world’s nuclear sites and radioactive materials are secure from threats like cyber-attack both now, and in the years to come?
The International Conference on Nuclear Security or ICONS provides a global forum for discussions on nuclear security, and offers opportunities for exchanging information, sharing best practices and fostering international cooperation.
The event happens every four years and is the world’s only international conference on nuclear security with a ministerial and a scientific component. This year’s event ICONS 2024 focused on shaping the future of nuclear security.
