Great video, thanks. The version you installed is very involved. Is this only because it is the heavy duty version. Are the other models that tow less weight the same process to install? I saw on the website this is a 10 of 10 difficulty and the other ones are a 3 of 10. Do they all require the bumper to come off.
Appreciate the video. Bummer it is a bit involved to install. I was getting ready to order a hitch and install it in my garage. But thanks to your video, it's definitely going to help to have a lift to do this job so looks like ill have to wait until I can get a buddy to agree to lend me a hand and let me use their lift.
We're glad the video was helpful. It is a bummer that you'll need to wait for a bit, but at least you didn't find yourself stuck with the rear of the vehicle dis-assembled! www.etrailer.com/Trailer-Hitch/EcoHitch/306-X7395.html
Hi. You guys have a great channel loaded with useful info, thank you! Wondering if I could get your opinion. I used to have an ‘08 LX570 (8,000lb tow cap), that easily towed my Brenderup Horse trailer (~4,600lbs fully loaded). Unfortunately the dealer broke my engine during a routine maintenance service. I now have a ‘19 Audi Q7 Prestige (7,000lb tow cap), but no adaptive air suspension). After 6 months of ownership, I hate it - but I have it. I know it will never be as reliable as my LX and has already depreciated by several $$K. What is your opinion of the Q7 as a tow vehicle? I’m also considering trading it for a GX460 (6500 tow cap). Any reccos/thoughts would be much appreciated. Keep up the great work!
As far as the drivetrain is concerned, your Q7 with a 7K tow capacity should be able to handle a 4600 lb horse trailer with little difficulty. What exact problems are you having?
@@etrailer I haven’t tried towing with it yet, but wasn’t sure if I should keep the vehicle…I’m just not happy with it as a whole. On paper, it should be no problem towing - But was wondering if you had any experience towing with it (3.0L twin turbo V6), and if it was worth keeping or better to just get something else.
We haven't had experience towing something that large with a vehicle such as your Audi. To be perfectly honest.... if you're not happy with the vehicle now, you'll be less happy when you try towing with it. Audis aren't known for their long-term reliability, and the extra stress from towing most likely won't help in that regard. A Lexus like you describe (assuming it's in good condition) would be a better choice in the long term. Hope that helps you.
To each their own. If the reduced capacity (3500 vs 5000 lbs) isn't a concern, the etrailer # e43ZR would be almost as concealed as the EcoHitch model you'd checked out. It's also quite a bit less expensive and easier to install, www.etrailer.com/Trailer-Hitch/Volkswagen/Tiguan/2023/e43ZR.html?VehicleID=20236002608
