On the opening day on Saturday, October 29, 2022, I was only 5 minutes at the Basel Autumn Fair when I was already checked by the police - that's not normal anymore. Basel is a total police state and since that day I have decided to avoid such big events and large crowds in general, such as carnival, forever. Should others let themselves be checked by the Basel police, but I'll definitely never do it again. Personally, I would give everyone out there, whether man or woman, the well-justified advice to avoid the Basel Autumn Fair as a matter of urgency. To go out of the way of all crowds of people all over the world. I've finished!
Why not go? What to fear for? As long as have valid ID no violation or not illegal i think there is nothing to fear of enjoy and relax. Last year Herbstmesse we were also check by police upon entering the area and shown our vaccine card.😊
That's why I say: Basel-Stadt is the largest police state in Switzerland. And I even have confirmation of that now because it happened to you and your friends last year too!

It is normal no worries I was check too few time but during normal days when i cross boarder to france and germany 😊😊
