9:17 - very true. I'm glad you explained this. I was enabling 'X3D' and found that some of my benchmarks (across the board) would drop by 10%. leaving it 'disabled' makes nice improvements in performance with my 9800X3d. I wanted to know why, which is how I stumbled on your video. Thanks for sharing and the explanations. Cheers.
I spoke to MSI about the X3D Gaming Mode and they said you don't need it, as it's a form of Overclocking. I tried it and it used so much more power and heat, with worse performance.
I am finding your videos very helpful and extremely easy to follow. Thank you and enjoy the coffees. I'm currently getting parts together for a new gaming PC and these guides are going to be very helpful.
What an extremely informative video! I have this exact same board and CPU and am new to both MSI and AMD chipsets. After figuring out all the basics on my own, I had some of the unrecommended settings activated (including X3D Gaming Mode). I now am very comfortable knowing what all the menu options are. I was pleasantly surprised to get this information on a newer channel that turned out to be a very high quality production. Subscribed.
I have a big doubt I have decided to mount this motherboard next to 9800x3d and the time from when you press the power button until you can enter the bios or start loading the boot is 18 seconds, is this normal with AMD ddr5? (Memory restore is enabled) I had a b560 and i711700k the bios boot was almost instant Thank you Please, I'm waiting for your answer if you have observed and the same thing happens to you
x3d gaming mode basically disables hyper threading. so it’s basically the same thing as “ SMT “ Disabled. when disabling SMT it disables the 8 additional threads given to you. so to you or anyone reading this, x3d gaming mode basically disables 8 additional threads which leaves you running in 8/8…. The number of cores you have is basically the number of additional threads provided on your cpu. hope this helps
@@Actualidad321 thanks! You’d need to look at benchmarks elsewhere. From what I’ve seen the benefits are minimal in games but there are big cuts in multithreaded performance.
Anyone have a good link to set up the bios? i can't make it work, SSDs are present in the bios and I try to install windows 10 then 11 but nothing to do I stay on a black screen once the installation finish.
I have the msi 870 tomahawk and it's having issues recognizing the corsair aio cooler even after bio's update and it's showing my cpu at 95c any thoughts?
Hi Is it possible to have more than 4 points to setup fan speed on the x870e Carbon Wifi ? On your video, you move one of the 4 points to setup fan speed to 0 but we don't know if it's possible to add new point on the graph to be more accurate. I find that only 4 points is too small. Thanks you if you can answer.
the option "Eco mode" is there and it says "auto" and it doesn't allow me to change it or enable it.. can you please answer me and help me out? Edit: I have 7900x
I noticed you are running a RAM XMP profile on your MSI x870e carbon... I can not get my RAM to overclock at all. What is your RAM setup? I have the MSI x870e carbon, 9800x3d, corsair 7000mhz ram, 4090. Thanks
I opted for the MSI Z890 Tomahawk WIFI (the model shown) and it looks and feels absolute shyte, especially the BIOS which I have just updated today (21st Jan 25).
‼Do not buy a moutherborad with Realtek ALC4082 sound card on it!!! This card is USB2 card, there have NO way to run of DTS 5.1/7.1 from SPDIF and NO Realtek Audio Manager(console) !!! There have (for now) NO way to use Realtek audio menager whit all surround effects ,also no way to run 5.1 DTS from SPDIF. I try many way to fix is from internet, but noting work. Great Video, you filled in the gaps for me with this new looking Bios, very well explained.. Thank You..
I have the X870E Carbon and it is a nice board. Everything works well and paired with a 09--X3D, my system is fast.
Could you please do a video to better explain all the RAM overclocking options into the "advanced" tab?

Is there any chance to apply settings to a new bios version? Its a pain to change the settings with every new version 😢
Is it necessary to plug in both cpu 8 pins and also the pcie plug at the bottom of the board if your graphics card already gets power?

There is only one CCD on 9800X3D so you still have all 8 cores right with X3D gaming mode on?
@@focusmicro yes. But SMT will be disabled reducing thread count from 16 to 8 which will hurt multi threaded performance
Mine is green by default and it's disgusting. How do I change it to red?
Looks like the MPG boards have Red UEFI and the MAG boards have green. Maybe the MEG boards have another colour.
Good day Tell me, is there a Russian language there?
MSI fan curve editor is absolute trash compared to Gigabyte.
