I’ve always been exposed to the realities of this world by my parents. I thank them for their parenting but in high school, the year of Matric my mother introduced me to the Bare Series by Jackie. That series was a point of conversation in my household that whole year as we prepared for the following year at which I’d be going to university, we all learned so much and we still recommend Jackie’s work to parents and kids especially those who are oblivious to the dark realities of the world and our country. That year I wrote an essay on that series and how I related to my reality.
Everytime I see Jackie being interviewed on a podcast I click and watch and I never ever regret it , I always learn something new and substantial. What an intelligent human being. Love her.
Damn she's good and it was my first time hearing her story about being abused sexually it's a heartbreaking story but her emotional intelligence is groundbreaking you can tell she's smart and I love how she removes herself from playing the victim, much love Jackie we need more people like you in South Africa
Jackie is tenacious and I admire how she stands for her truth. A misunderstood realist who's not scared to tackle heavy topics. She's clearly not about being liked but about putting out facts. I have new-found respect for her. ❤️
What a great installment, Jackie has a spirit of boldness and she is a powerhouse. All her books are interesting, Liwa yona made me realise that sechaba kaofela sa kula, mental illness is a serious pandemic and childhood traumas that are never dealt with tend to have a negative impact in one's life. Thank you Lebo and the team for the great work, I enjoyed the interview, it was an interesting conversation.
You are powerful Jackie! I was literally town apart by my girlfriends for saying 'men are not trash' to a point where I was slowly changing my mind because of them but not having peace about it! You've opened up my mind about this topic. And its more powerful coming from a woman who's been violated by men and still takes this stance. Thank you
This conversation was so well carried, Lebo! I look forward to seeing how you grow and wish you all the best on your journey. ❤️ Thank you, Jackie for always sharing so generously. You are necessary. Your voice is necessary, thank you for lending it to so many people who are deliberately silenced or blatantly ignored, and for doing it with such honesty and grace. ❤️🤗 I watched this over a couple of days because I just couldn’t commit an hour at once to watch it, BUT ☝🏾I kept coming back! 😉 I mostly appreciated the sensitivity with which this was carried! Bravo, Ladies! ❤️🤗
She is a strong woman(with excellent perception), she didn't allow rape to take her down. Bad things will always happen to us but is our choice how we respond to them.
Great conversation ladies. Really proud of you two. So sorry for what happened to you at 18 Jackie.❤️. I'm glad you're not bitter and not hating men, but I'm sorry. The men who did that to you? They're trash. Full stop. Keep on doing what you do. May God cover you. May you hide yourself in Him. Love yiu❤️
This was absolutely informative to watch, I misunderstood Jackie myself because of social media but I feel like I understand her so much better now, she's great to listen to.
I think is better regarding sugar daddies that is spoken by women to women because when a man is addressing this is like the are having a problem with IT Girls
I enjoyed this. May she continue to raise awareness. She is right about Gorgeous Mbali. I like how she answered the Maya & Oprah question. I also miss Oprah 😢 Lebo has the potential to be like her ❤
I think 🤔 for those who are curious about her perpetrator should research about politicians who were in the region where she did her matric then and who are still active in the political space and obviously can articulate very well in Sotho then I guess you'll get your truth and decide what to do with it from there onward
What's scary is the amount of women watching this wandering, "how can I get into this life with minimized risk." I make my son watch these to show him what's out there. The black family and black unity are in tatters.
Jakkie stories break my heart i love jakkies i hate seing her cryng im broken💔💔💔💔💔💔💔l love you jakkie your strong you come a long way💗💙💚❣💟💗your a winner
I never get tired of listening to her interviews. One always learns something from her. She's such a force 🙌🏾🔥♥️👌🏽

I like how she answered the Maya & Oprah question. I also miss Oprah 😢 Lebo has the potential to be like her ❤
Worse of all is it's a woman who was behind this atrocity

But was it relevant for you Lebo to ask the victim if her rapist thought she was a prostitute? Yes you have a show but just fake a little humanity..
