WOW! I sure love hearing that beautiful locomotive whistle.I sure remember seeing and hearing this unit on the BCR at Clinton, B.C. I really enjoy your videos.
Thank you for this video. Love seeing the train depot and watching the train move along the tracks. Hearing the sound of the wheels on the track as it moves.
I really wish they still had the whistle stop in Holland Patent during the Remsen Barn FOTA. I believe they had three trips from Utica each day and you could take a ride to Thendara and back if you liked. I would get on in H.P. at 9; am ,spend day at the festival, and take the last train back at 6 pm . All for the whopping cost of $6.00
That's an interesting angle @2:54 or thereabouts. Looks like the locomotive is headed straight for the camera. With those horn blasts, it sorta sounds like it too ☺
Lettered on the tank cars: "Non-odorized liquid petroleum gas" aka propane. It gets something stinky added to it that makes it detectable by nose. 😂 Like my son's socks. 😂 Enjoying the video from Maine!
It's frack oil. They're classed that way because of their volatility. Anytime you hear an environmentalist arguing about pipelines ask them what they think of all those explosive black pearls rolling through the 'poor parts' of every city in upstate New York. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lac-M%C3%A9gantic_rail_disaster
Most people are oblivious to what trains carry, if they knew that and the poor shape of some of the tracks/ rolling stock they wouldn't believe you anyway! 😮
Those cars haul frack oil- I've been watching them roll up and down the line for years now, and you can guess the barrel price *and* the current policy by their movement. The good news is that there won't be any big price hikes before the election even if the Gulf *or* Venezuela get sticky. 😁😉
That must have been quite a sight at Bailey's when that car ran away, yikes! Very informative and enjoyable video. Thank you.
Thanks, catching up on your videos on this Rainy Hurricane Debby day from North Carolina
Great looking video. Thanks for including the link to the mill switching video. Happy Thanksgiving.
Great to visit the north country again. Greetings to you and Witold from Durham, NC. Thanks, Rambler😊
So much fun to watch this!!! Thanks for sharing! Seems to be a huge cut of tank cars! I first thought it was over kill with the power, I was wrong
Thanks for another great video; watching from York, England. You certainly have some interesting Short Line operations to watch in the Utica area!

Interesting: these three vintage diesel locomotives with their tank car train. Very nicely filmed, thanks for showing.

Witold is a sensible dog. From Letchworth Garden City, north of London UK.

Great to see this , thanks ! It would be nice if the tracks could be connected back up to Carthage again.
That must have been a very heavy coach to need 3 locos to pull it ! !
The green locomotive 2455 identical colors as BC Rail years ago, same with the red, white, blue loco.
Enjoyed the video!! Tell Witold we said hi! lol
That sure was a long train! Longest I've seen in a long time! How many cars was that?
By my count, 79 tank cars, one covered hopper and three engines
Hey rail rambler awesome train. Will Mill at end of track ever get rail service again?
Be nice if they could get more freight business up north
I always enjoy your productions! Do you have any information on when the MA&N are running the Carthage to Newton Falls job?
Glad you liked the video! Sorry, I don't have any info on the Newton Falls job. Hope to eventually video up there though
John are those cars going back in service and are they oil cars or propane?
Shale oil
They are going back in service. Believe they are propane tankers as they bear hazard placards numbered 1075
