Pretty interesting video. It’s impressive to see how these kids in the ballet schools are prepared from a very early age to face the difficulties derived from the profession they have embraced. I mean the mental maturity and self confidence they have to have to survive -competitions, independence from family, clarity and precision in their goals. All that in addition to the physical skills proper of dance. In an interview I watched some time ago, Natalia Osipova says exactly the same about her formative years at Vaganov: by the age of sixteen she had hardened her personality and pinpointed her goals in life almost as if she were a full fledged adult.
Ballet is a very hard profession which requires a lot of sacrifices in life. Most of us have gone through challenging moments but these moments helped us to become stronger. Osiel is an inspiration for us not only as a great dancer but also as a humble person. Thank you for your comment Miguel.🙏🏼
Thank you for this interview - great stuff! We first saw Osiel in 2012 practising at the HQ of the Ballet Nacional in Havana and we thought - wow! this young man is going far!!
The sound does improve ... perhaps you didn't listen long enough. for me, the Cuban music playing underneath is annoying because it does nothing to enhance the enterview.

Dear Simon, yes he is a fantastic dancer and a great human being. Thank you for your comment 😍🙏🏼
Potentially revealing interview ruined by lousy audio.
