Debt is what hurting the struggling couple. My prayers for them. They need help figuring out how to get their debts under control.
As domeone who used to sleep in their car, people always say "ask friends or family for help". There's always a time limit. They start to get annoyed with you and say that you owe them .... I have my own place now but i still feel like i cannot keep up. I see people going on vacations or to concerts and I selfishly am envious....
I rebuilt my sailboat to a live-aboard bugout survival pod. My yearly cost of living is down to $3500 including everything even internet, they could do the same.

2 or 3 meals for 2 or 3 hundred dollars. No wonder they’re broke. Someone needs to teach them how to cook/eat on a budget. It may not be what you WANT but it would be what you can afford. Frozen vegetables, beans, rice, hamburger meat or inexpensive chicken can go a long way. Even peanut butter or any kind of sandwich on store brand bread will suffice if your goal is eliminating or staying out of debt.
I'm guessing that they live in a very expensive state, such as CA.

I'm appalled by the comments about the first young gal who is living in her car. Apparently those commenting have never had to seriously struggle. Everyone thinks they know what it's like although, they've never experienced it. Shame on you!
Dr. Phil and that brave woman explain this threat of homelessness so well. I went to get my car inspected, and to my surprise and shock, they told me I needed 4 new tires and front & back brakes, for a total of $2500. I knew they were lying about my brakes, but what how could I afford to prove it? As a result, my car has been sitting in my driveway going on 3 years, because in addition to no inspection sticker, they also suspended my registration, even though I've paid for it every year. I am trapped. I have to rely on friends and family for rides to my doctor's appts., and I feel So guilty.
I live in a state that has car inspections. That needs to GO AWAY! It's just another tax! If you are running slick tires, you should be able to do that and just be risking a ticket!

Well I don't feel sorry for her because everybody is learning how to budget I'm on social security I'm retired and I have to live on a budget or else. Sounds like she's trying to live above her means and couldn't do it any longer because you can't afford to live in the state she is in. Tough.
In regards to the young couple, how much debt are they servicing in student loans and a mortgage? Maybe they should have not purchased a home if they had large student loans. They may be house poor.
Stop spending so much then maybe you can afford to live the right way get on a budget i am on a budget you learn to do that if not then you will live on rhe street.

I didn't have water during my college years and was able to pay 24hr gym $15 a month to use their showers. I used park showers when, seasonally, open. Her meals look like mine now, too. Super frugal here...grateful and humble. 🫂
