Dear Amanda, Frank is such a lucky dog to be loved and cared for by you. I watch your videos and see your love for your dog, makes me miss my old dog. Safe travels ❤❤
I live vicariously through you both. My gosh I can’t believe the effort you put into the paddle boarding and portage navigating. I could never do that. Just dream it. You must be pretty darn fit! What an incredible life full of adventures that you are gifting to Frank. His life and heart is full. You are an amazing mom and I am filled with joy enjoying your videos. As a previous poster mentioned, I too appreciate the silence and sounds of nature in this series. Epic. Just beautiful all around. Nature and it’s many blessings and gifts. Thank you so very much for what you are creating here…. And always.
I love the quote, and your comment on it, from your book. That is why I summit mountains, preferably with a decommissioned fire lookout on top (it's a passion of mine!). My knees aren't great anymore, I'm a solo female (widowed), and I absolutely LOVE the challenge!! It's so wonderful to make it to the top, and to be able to look back and say, "I did that!!" Thanks for sharing your adventure!!🎉🎉🎉
I love that you haven't changed being out in nature with your senior dog who grew up doing this with you throughout the years. Though, he isn't capable of running around like he used to you can see in his face and eyes that he still loves and enjoys the adventures. You are a kind and thoughtful person. I laughed out loud at your kitchen show. Love it! And I'm loving this series and looking forward to day 3. 💕
@@karenb1627 I'm also elderly with much arthritic pain, I also feel great in the water but I really feel an increase of pain and tiredness for a few days after even though I swim frequently. I love to 🏊♂️, so I guess it's a compromise. I'm sure Amanda will monitor Frankie and slow it down if he shows signs of being over taxed. I hope she gives herself enough recovery time also.
Thanks for sharing this amazing adventure Amanda. Your Greatest Mum to Frankie ❤❤❤❤ . Safe Travels Always. Hugs n Love Always From Your Friend In Michigan Tam 💓 💗 💕
I'm so glad your 2nd day seemed much easier. It's a beautiful lake and you got yourself another great campsite! Frank is so cute. It's good for him to walk some. I can't believe at 70 lbs that you pick him up so often. You must be very strong.❤❤
I love the quote from the book, another read I see in my future 💜 The energy that is needed just to steer the paddle board with that cart is remarkable. I have one and know it's not easy. You are doing it carrying your gear on your back and Frank just in wowed. You are amazing, beautiful attitude gets you to beautiful destinations. WTG Amanda and Frank 💜🐾
Wow... day two was definitely smoother than day 1 🎉 -- Love the cooking class! 😂 -- Excellent quote. As I've said before: you are amazing, Amanda! Hugs to you and Frank xx
What a great series, Amanda!!! Loving it....your segment on cooking with Amanda was hilarious! "Mmm, food substance" 😂You are showing how beautiful and challenging these treks can be, but the rewards are so delicious!!! Hugs to you and Frankaliscious from Ontario 🫶💪🐾🛶🏕️
USE arnica products to help reduce pain and heal faster post excess exercise, bruising sprains, etc. I always recommend it. Pellets, cream, gel, ointment.
I love seeing Frank swimming. Your dinner was the exact opposite of mine. LOL. Mine looked great but wasn't in any way nutritional. I love that you keep the original sounds and don't add music. I'm here for nature. All the best to everyone but especially Sweet Frank.
Awesome adventure watching you on this second day portage..so glad this second day was a little less trying than day 1..Frank is right there sharing in your adventure!! After all your hard work you should be in that tent resting with him lol!!..loved your cooking segment but sorry you couldn't sell me on that green substance meal😝😁, can't wait for tomorrows day 3 segmant!! Get some rest..you definitely deserve it..give frank a hug from me ❤
You impress me so much and you are inspiring me everyday to get out there. Frankie is such a great dog! I recently lost my old dog to cancer so I just love watching you two out there together. I finally got some much needed shots in my knees...which led to a wonderfully painless night and then a painless multi kilometre walk. I am still without pain at the end of the day tonight so I am thrilled! A big road trip I planned has been delayed by health issues, but hopefully I'll have answers soon and I can leave on my adventure. I found a 1991 GMC Vandura that is in great shape and I am seriously considering buying it instead of heading out in my new Bronco Sport, which obviously has limited room. I plan to drive from BC to Ontario every year to spend months with my folks at our cottage in Muskoka. I want a little home on wheels so that I can meander my way there and back as I please. There's a.lot of BC I haven't seen, not mention the rest of Canada... and of course friends/family in the States and all their National Parks. I'm not getting any younger so I want to get out there and go for it! You certainly have helped me realize that my physical limitations can be survived and overcome, so thank you so much for that!
Glad to hear that you got a good nights rest. It's so good that you caught a break on the 2nd day. I couldn't believe it was possible for anyone to walk out on that log with a big dog and load him onto the board without falling. Your balance and strength are outstanding. And you highly amusing cooking instruction was just not able to sell me on the green glop. Sadly ,sometimes food is just about energy. I can't wait to see you dig into one of your fried potato dinners when you get back to Truck. Oh, and I'm loving this format. It really fun to anticipate the next one.
Thank you, I appreciate your observations. It took a lot of focus to carry Frank out to the board, had it been the start of the season it might not have gone so well but my balance has really improved over the summer paddling so much and I’ve been lifting and carrying Frank for a long time now which has made me stronger than I even realize at times.
I said to myself, "poor ole' Frank's tired." Then I said, "What do you mean? He has a great life!" He does.....you're a good mom. It's after 2100 here and my two boys are already passed out. They're getting up there in years like me. We'll all age together. It's working so far. Great videos!
Huckleberries and food substance, Frank snores and quiet time on another beautiful beach. A well deserved break from the hard work behind and ahead for both of you.
Aww that has to feel so good to Frank to be able to move relatively freely in the water. He looked very happy. I'm enjoying watching your adventure. Thank you for sharing.
This is like episodes of Survivor, I’m totally into it now , like what’s gonna happen next and tomorrow. Like a hood book, good job love! Impressed and proud of Frank too!
I love that you are doing what you love and making a great life for your dog. I may have to rehome my dog to get a regular job. Hard for an empathic, neurodivergent creative type. I hope to learn from you and create a better life for myself and my friends. 😂 with the leg friction!
Day 2, yay! Somehow, when you shared crossing paths with a family with young kids doing the same journey, I felt so much more confident for you and Frankie... I didn't know I was worried until then. :D It looks amazing - and like lots of work! And still amazing. The water, the skies, figuring out how to portage well (the wee skills, how to pull the board on its wheels, Frank's adjustments, etc). Reminds me that it's fun to plan big things, and execute those big things, and part of the fun is that not everything can be accounted for, and so there will be surprises! (perfectly lovely surprises, and perfectly awful surprises, too). Thanks for day 2!
There was also youth groups and frequent road access camp sites. It’s certainly challenging but lots of people pull it off, or do portions of the route.
What a gorgeous, peaceful lake Brewster is. No jet skis and motor boats howling around. No ATVs or serious noise. You found a nice spot -- perhaps all the nicer because you worked for it. ...I love doggie snores. My dog used to snore. Now I have a cat that snores.
I was lucky that day because there is access for boats and jet skis and I saw ATVs the next day. Lots of people recreating in this area but I’m especially skilled/lucky to find solitude
Beautiful and inspiring yet again! Frank is so happy rolling or floating along on the board. My 11 year old girl, Suzie, would not be so happy. She’s a hound and would run off to follow her nose for a couple of hours, and dislikes the water (aside from wading in stagnant ponds).
I'm loving this series. We've been canoe camping and portaging in the BWCAW in Minnesota for many summers. Portaging is a lot of work! But worth it at the end of the day. Thanks for sharing this adventure. 🏕️ I wish i had a paddle board emoji to share. 😎🐶🥰
You are doing an amazing job, I forgot you had one up today, I was excited to see it. I get scared for you at times, but I know you've survived another day because your video's up. Lol
I also downloaded the route map on my phone to follow you on my ipad as I watch you and Frank walk and paddle. I canoed many routes over the decades with family, groups and now mostly solo with my two pups. Now 62 and camping in my van is a pleasure rather than tenting while I do solo canoe day trips with my pups. I❤ this adventure you are on. It reminds me of many trips I did. However you are really slogging it with the board and wonderful Frank. Very impressive.
Thank you, and I love that your are following along with the map. I figured if people are interested in this route that I’ve shared just enough specifics that combined with the map it would give you a good idea what you’re in for.
Loved the cookery show but think I’d rather have Frank’s dinner tonight🤣 I guess yours is more about fuel and nutrition tho. 🍟 hee, hee 😂 Part two looked so worth the fresh hell of part one - a much less stressful adventure and good call taking advantage of the road rather than the portage trail. Those lakes are so calm and stunning. Great vibe today!
Hi Amanda, all the swimming seems to be helping with Frank’ joints. It really helps with mine too. Another great series, it’s so engaging and magical! 🐾🐾💚jul

Amanda you left out the number one reason that you should let Frank sleep In the tent on top of the sleeping bag,and that's because he's an old man with arthritis and being an old man with arthritis I can tell you that when he's dreaming ,He's no longer an old man with arthritis. He's still a young puppy that can run around and Chase squirrels,up trees!
Serene beauty yet worry about you & Frank with the bears, cougars or snakes that may be lurking. but you are such a strong willed person, you can tackle anything on your bucket list! Great swimming Frank 😊❤
Dang this is such an epic adventure for you two. Hands down my favorite videos you’ve made yet and I think I’ve watched all of them. I can’t get over how beautiful the color of the lakes are up there. Our rivers are that beautiful green but not often are the lakes. Can’t wait to see more

food substance 😂 Don’t think it’ll catch on as a marketing strategy.
😂 how about ‘nutrical’ (nutrients and calories) although it does actually taste really good it’s just the texture that leave a bit to be desired.
