It’s a must do even if with small children. We just take a long mid day nap & my 5 year old always talks about the time we got to stay in magic kingdom “over night” & ride all the rides without lines.

Extend hours used to be for all Disney guests staying on property. I'm a bit disappointed they do it only for Deluxe resorts. with a cross of some fingers they will revert this and go back to the way it was.

When I was working down there, and doing my solo park visits, I would almost exclusively not go in MK especially until the last hour or two of the night, kinda like what you’re doing here. Absolutely the best plan if you only want to hit up a few choice rides/snacks without the crowds, and then if you hang around long enough you get the peaceful quiet of the park to walk out to ✨
And it’s a walk on and on and on! Great way to end the night! I’m bummed I didn’t plan my days properly to take advantage of this perk the one time we stayed at a deluxe lol. Good info to have and share! Thx! Wendy lady
Being a DVC Boardwalk member for years we always did extended hours and we are so spoiled because we hate to wait in lines now. We always start at Pirates and work our way around and end up running to the rides in Tomorrowland. Best time spent in Magic Kingdom!!
Yes it is worth it to be at MK until one am. I remember on Wednesdays that was MKs magic hours and we scheduled going to MK on Wed and shut it down. Thank you Iger!
We'll be doing our first ever extended hours in January '24. I figure our best plan of attack is hit the 2nd tier rides first, i.e. Pirates, Thunder Mountain and saves the big hitters, i.e. Haunted Mansion, and Mine Train until latter in the night. Kinda let everyone else stand in line for those rides, and get it off their plates. Then hopefully the big boys will be walk-ons. It's only 2 hours, and I don't want to waste any of those few minutes.
Love the extended hours. We stayed at the Swan Dolphin and enjoyed the benefits. Hardly any wait on the rides. They scan your park tickets because it is linked to the hotel you are staying at.
I did a paid extra hours event at Epcot when we were there a couple weeks ago. I was sort of upset because the MK extra hours for deluxe guests was on the same night...BUT my son and I had an awesome time at Epcot. We got a bounce-back offer to stay in the Contemporary Atrium level for next summer! 😃

For me, I think it's so well worth going after hours if you are staying at a Disney deluxe hotel (if you don't have small kids). Talk about a different vibe! Try to hit Epcot, extended hours Kyle. See about going in Frozen. You have ride losing streak going on with it. Take advantage of your Disney Annual pass. All the restaurants are discounted when you show your pass. Includes all those 3-4 course ones.
I went last month and starting to wonder if instead of getting up early for rope drop, instead spend the morning and mid-day enjoying the amenities of the resort and go into the parks later in the afternoon, especially if open later and have the extra hours. Of course, can't do at Animal Kingdom.
We went on guardians during extended hours in August last year and in the loading area the only people there were cast members. They ask us to hurry so we wouldn't have to wait for the next set of vehicles!
We were staying at contemporary a while ago and stayed for extra magic hours which were until 2 a.m. we got on space mountain at 2 and took an hour to get thru the ride. We decided to take the bus to the contemporary and when i asked the bus driver if we were on the right bus and he said "you know you walk" and i said its 3 in the morning and i'm too tired to walk and he says "good point!!"
What is the fun of the speedway? Just curious, when we were there we didn't ride. Felt like the antique cars at Great America back in the day. Lol Would have loved to see the views from Big Thunder at night.

In 2008-09 hotel guests could do after hours until 1 the rides stayed open. It was awesome

I went to MNSSHP in 2019 and we rode Big Thunder 3 times in a row. They didn't even have us get off the ride.
Can't believe that Monorail line. Take the bus, it's usually a walk-on even after the fireworks.
