James, I agree!! The DBX was designed from the ground up as an Aston Martin. The Cayenne, Audi Q8, Lambroghini Urus, and Bentley bentayga ALL share the same platform and running gear. Aston did it the hard way, but the RIGHT way!

Completely agree with you. I took the 2025 DBx 707 two weeks ago for a text drive and I was blown away by how much i loved it. The infotainment upgrade made a huge difference and the bowers and Wilkins sound system was excellent. I drove the Cayenne GT this weekend and the DBX 707 is better
Fantastic ambassador for uk brands. Aston built a totally new production facility in the UK for DBX, so if you’ve got the minerals people go buy one and support the workers and country.
Just a small precision regarding the gearbox: Unlike the original 550HP DBX, the 707 has taken also AMG gearbox. It has the AMG 9-speed dual clutch. That is why the gear changes are "twin-clutch fast"... ;-)
I remember when they first announced this DBX. Galpin Aston Martin brought out for a SoCal Rally we had. I was really loving the car then and I still love the car now. I love the revamp of the infotainment system! Game changer!

As a previous DBX owner (V8 550 from new), it was the poor AML customer service that ended my relationship with the brand. It was also unreliable - they replaced the first car it it didn’t like to work.

The thing that drove customers away from AM is the infotaintment system, I am glad they overhaul the tech department, and turned to touch screen plus beautifully excecuted console. DBX707 is so elegantly executed, make you feel like gentlemen owning one. i would consider this over Purosangue, Bentley Bentaya, Lambo Urus, Cullinan.
It may well be but as per the points in the video it’s still on the MLB platform etc etc - I’m not addressing out right speed as making an SUV the best in this particular video 👍🏻
@@MrJWW Well the platform was developed by Porsche so was the V8, while they all share the porsche Platform (and the V8) thats as far the similarities are when it comes to Porsche and the rest. on the Other hand you are right Urus uses the Audi electronics. I would pick every time an Turbo GT over DBX 707, reason it is to flashy while Porsche has an understated elegance

Loved your recent videos on Aston - however what you are missing is the post purchase problems. I’m on my second Aston Martin, started with a DB11 v12 and now on the Vantage - after sales service is in my experience one of the worst in the car market. Volkswagen, Audi, BMW, Ford could teach AM so much on how to manage after sales problems. I’m on 4K KM on my new vantage and so far it’s spent weeks in Aston Martin, no follow up calls, no rental car - in short this will be my last Aston because I don’t want to have to deal with the after sales again. Anyone thinking of buying an Aston, enjoy the car because the After Sales will make you hate it.
Not the same product category, nowhere near the space or practicality in the Purosangue, even Ferrari don’t call it an SUV because it’s more of a crossover and the value proposition in comparison is a joke

I don’t think it was this new updated model, but we were in wales a few months back and saw a DBX in a satin green with gold / bronze accents and it’s was stunning… reminded me of your JWW edition but without the Lennox green
I agree whole heartedly, if i could afford an exotic SUV it would be the Aston, i remember seeing a blue one sitting in the South Park Mall in Charlotte NC and it sold me on the design and styling. To piggyback off what you said, its a bespoke chassis. An urus is just an audi with a body kit and a tune.
Watched a Harry’s Garage video he thought the Aston was better than the RR SV & the Porsche Cayenne..only thing he said he struggled with was the £80k more…but if you’ve got the money& want the best one…the interior update might be the game changer 👍
While I love the creativity and how much time and effort goes into the content with Aston Martin, you're 100% doing PR for them, you say that you're not getting paid which "might" be true but the zero negative points and constant possitive is just too often, there is no real criticism when reviewing their cars and no car manufacturer is perfect. Something that would be a great change is seeing you actually providing constructive criticism about the car, what you really think should be changed about it.
He has called them out on the entertainment system in them and they have listened and updated that. Clearly you have never owned or been in an Aston Martin. There attention to detail is second to none.

The VAG parts bin cars are actually a better choice. Repair happens faster compared to any Aston. If you pull in your DBX you may not see it for months depending on the issue.
Calling an Urus an RSQ8 and saying that the DBX isn’t an AMG really defeats the argument regardless on the amount of influence each brand had on the other. Both Lamborghini and Aston carried their heritage in each design and both received assistance where needed be

I simply enjoy watching and listening to the facts about all the cars and where you go to see them. Aston definitely have amazing designs & great cars lately.. but funny that a multiple Porsche cars owner doesn't mention the Cayenne in any category from speed to handling to anything + no mention at all of the Ferrari Purosangue which is also a "pure" ferrari not shared with any other brand

James, what about the Ferrari Purosangue? I know it's not exactly apples to apples but as an overall driving experience? I have a turbo GT now and it's great but boring at the same time. There's also hardly any customization with the interior so that is something I want to swap out of. Thanks for the video
I agree 100%! Aston has gone from delivering arguable the worst SUV to instantly the best. Nothing truly compares to this apart from maybe the Ferrari and that’s still slightly compromised. Great video 👍
I have a MY2024 Turbo GT now and taking delivery of a MY2025 DBX707 in February. Couldn’t be more excited. While the TGT drives slightly better, the biggest drawback of actually ownership for the TGT is how cheap it feels. Plastic across the exterior (grill pieces, wheel arches, back bumper) and the interior is very poor for $220k USD. I had a Urus Perf before the TGT, and much prefer the TGT to the perf, even if they are effectively the same platform/engine and basically the same car.
I took delivery of my 2025 DBX707 a week ago. Was really torn between this and Urus but now I am really glad I stuck with the Aston. You won’t be disappointed. Only annoyance is inability to permanently turn off the traffic assistance stuff. Need to do it every time. Apparently a patch is coming.
The refresh of the interior is exactly what the DBX needed

Pagani don't have a history of building their own engines.
Pagani uses the V12 Mercedes AMG engine. DBX has the 4.0 lit V8

Great engine, ride and looks. My one complaint is the brakes are always squeeky. I have taken to the dealership 5 times and still no fix.

I have that lane assist on my Q3 and you’re right, it’s a nightmare but at least it’s one push of a button to switch it off.
The EU safety regs are seriously pissing me off, perfect example of stupid policy that has no thought for the real world.
I wish they would make a 4 seater as an option. So instead of a bench seat, you could have 2 individual seats, would make it more luxurious.

What about the Lotus Eletre R? Yes it's an EV but it's well refined and much, much faster, if that interests you.
