This will be my last Star Trek V video this year. I will resume work on this sometime next year. I am taking time off to concentrate on the holidays and real life. I may release an occasional video small video but nothing big until next year. To everyone, Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas!
thanks so much for helping to improve the most flawed of the classic Trek films. These honestly, legitimately, make me and other Trek fans excited for....Star Trek V. A weird statement for sure.
Jason T: have you ever thought of doing some fan editing on those movies? For example: turning TMP into a two-part episode (because of your TMP Intro done in TNG style), adding new scenes into The Voyage Home (excluding that little ending of the Enterprise crashing in San Francisco) and redoing the ENTIRE VFX for The Final Frontier? Your videos are fucking impressive to say the least, and don’t get me started on the Wolf 359 battle…you got me drooling for that. Anyway…can’t wait to see more after your vacation. Happy holidays!
Holy crap dude, you should just redo the whole movie. It is a guilty pleasure of mine, and it would make it so much better to watch. Keep up the good work. Can't wait to see the terran empire face off against vger.
Apparently, they were going to add these windows to the Enterprise filming model for Star Trek 5 because they wanted to do a zoom in shot like the one in this video, but they didn't have enough money to add those windows.
That observation lounge is an added bonus to Kirk's new Enterprise. It makes sense now to where Kirk, Spock and McCoy are held prisoner later in the film..
WOW!!! Aside from that cheesy ILM style warp drive effect, this looks A-MAZING!!! I would seriously consider changing the warp effect to the one from TMP. It's not you...I just always hated ILM's warp drive effects. They were so lame. OTHERWISE -- BEA-U-TI-FUL WORK!!! Showing this to all my friends! Both of them. LOL Kidding...no, I will be showing others your amazing work!!
Your effects might not save Star Trek V in its entirety, but they would go a long way in elevating it from the shallow end of mediocrity. Absolutely ace work.
It will always be a flawed film, but with Jason's FX and a REAL CGI remake of the ending that William Shatner wanted, that would at least -- as you said -- make it BETTER.
I like how the stars are moving and not streaking by at warp. Something that always bugged me about how warp speed was depicted in Archer's Enterprise which streaked indicating it was traveling faster than the starship's from Kirk's era.
@@miles2378 I chalk that up to them just being lazy and disregarding the 2 centuries of warp tech advancement that separates them and just reusing stock effects. One of the things I liked was how the warp effects and speed changes with each chronological era depicting their evolution up until Ent.
@@RAZORBLACKRX when Voyager did a flashback when Tuvok was first in starfleet during the events of "undiscovered country" Excelsior's warp was depicted like Voyager's.
This is absolutely amazing the amount of content you pump out is the equivalent of a film a year adding it all up. I certainly wish you a marry Christmas and a wonderful new year Jason.
Warp effective of Enterprise coming out of warp at nimbus 3 was awesome.... And while it may not be called 10 forward and on the Enterprise A, that was pretty nice compared to the D model in my mind
Incredible work, especially the nearly flawless zoom in @1:31. The lens flare @1.08 is a bit strong though. It reminds me of the overused lens flares in 90s CGI.
I like the blue and red glow behind the Enterprise on the pan in shot to Ten Forward. Its a subtle touch but it really gives the ship energy and shows that its at "full power" for warp speed.
Well done Jason! The updates are well done. I love the Probert Enterprise and you have done her justice ! I really enjoyed these. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year
My hat's off to you sir. Your work is amazing. Paramount would be wise to hire you to redo the horrible sfx and possibly add some more punch to the ending.
Great job always. But if I may, the original Trek 5 warp effect was totally trashed as compared to the earlier and later movie. Maybe you can use TMP, or Trek 2 warp effect over here instead? For this it is just light streaks behind the warp nacelles. The ship looks like its still at sub light speed. By 'right' the whole ship should reduce to just blob of light as it flies by when viewed 'outside' the warp field. If viewed from inside, then we should have fast moving star field behind
Fantastic work! Beyond amazing!! As much as everyone absolutely hates this movie, I really like it. The effects were terrible. But seeing what you've done, mind blowing!!! Can't wait to see if you do the shuttlecraft scenes, those were probably the worst effects in the entire film. 🤮
I love star trek 5, the only the thing that bummed me out was the noticeably not ILM visual effects. They weren't... Awful but they didn't have that grandiose cinematic feel that we had become accustomed to. What you've done is spectacular!!!
Too much grain in the warp trail. The spock transition was very smooth, and I like the addition of the beginnings of the great barrier shown through the window.
He's one of those fans of things that think they know how to make films better than filmmakers. That's not a criticism of faneditors, at least not all of them, but when he derides JT for being a forum reader and living under a rock for having not seen BTB... He's the one living in the cave.
Awesome effects work - you should get a studio job :) if this film had those effects all the way through it would be awesome. The effects sadly ruined this film.
I've never liked this warp effect that the older movies had, it just didn't look realistic. It just looked like a shit attempt to add lighting effects that don't even match the ships lighting, you wouldn't even think it was at warp. And although this remake is a VAST Improvement (Good job btw), it doesn't change that particular issue unfortunately!

Happy holidays to you, and thank you for all the Star Trek joy you bring into the lives of strangers😊

Merry Xmas.
Ah so this is an early Christmas present from you then.:) Enjoy the break! And Merry Christmas 🎄
I like that shot of the Enterprise and zooms into the Window where Spock is.
That shot made me smile like a kid on Christmas morning!
Holy crap dude, you should just redo the whole movie. It is a guilty pleasure of mine, and it would make it so much better to watch. Keep up the good work. Can't wait to see the terran empire face off against vger.
Yes, and sell it to Paramount as the remastered version!
I love that there are a set of windows front and center on the edge of the Saucer, it's something that was sorely missing from the refit model.
Apparently, they were going to add these windows to the Enterprise filming model for Star Trek 5 because they wanted to do a zoom in shot like the one in this video, but they didn't have enough money to add those windows.
Why not zoom in on one of the others and maybe have a slightly angled star field?
@@bennyfisher9157 Yep, Shatner had some decent idea for visual flair, but never got them approved.
Hope someone from Paramount reaches out to you. Would love to see a special edition Star Trek V with YOUR new fx!
YES YES YES!!! If they have ANY brains at all, they WILL!!
Never ceases to amaze me just how much of a flare the movie era pants have.
Incredible. The scene zooming into the observation deck was just perfect
That was a cool shop of the Enterprise entering the area where Nimbus 3 is seeing all the planets and moons.
You’re really giving new life to this film! Now I want to see a full cut!
My God, man! That warp in at 1.07 took my breath away!
That observation lounge is an added bonus to Kirk's new Enterprise. It makes sense now to where Kirk, Spock and McCoy are held prisoner later in the film..
Your Star Trek III video is my favorite!!
The warp in at Nimbus 3!!! Beautiful 😍
This is BEAUTIFUL GORGEOUS work my friend!!!!!
If paramount ever release ST5 in 4k they need to have you redo all the VFX!
Amen!! That's what I'm saying!!
And that includes new additional shots of the Enterprise-A like this!
Great work. This film out of all the original crew series really needs all the visual effects redone.
These are fantastic shots!! I've a big soft spot for the film, but the effects really bothered me. So these are truly brilliant.
Wow the Enterprise-A Ten forward looks amazing 👍
I really love the first shot of the Enterprise-A's warp travel at 0:13, 0:40, and 1:08!
I love your work and can't get enough of it! Bravo!
Whoa!!!......the shot 40 seconds in was great!!!!
The bridge and uniforms were so on point, very comfortable looking yet proper military feel at the same time.
That warp in bit was awesome!
This is 100% how the movie should look. Brilliant.

You nean how it was depicted the TNG, Voyager, and DS9.

Like Sybok later said "Well done! my friends" I would love to see your version of TWOK where the Enterprise escapes the Mutara Nebula. Excellent!!
I love your work and can't get enough of it! Bravo!

Outstanding again!!!
Keepup this damn good work!!! S.T.V seriously needs help!
Amazing! Just amazing!

Always incredible ! I love that work ❤
I'd have to say, that was sweeeeeeeet...👍😎
Even modern movies can't do as good a job with FX like this video. I loved the zoom in part to the forward bow window.
Thank you for getting the scale correct. The refit is simultaneously small and massive, and hard to get correct.
This film confirmed that it's just a TARDIS
Holy balls, this looks fantastic!
I like the blue and red glow behind the Enterprise on the pan in shot to Ten Forward. Its a subtle touch but it really gives the ship energy and shows that its at "full power" for warp speed.
Thanks Jason, it was great.
I love the enterprise coming out of warp here.
This might be your best work sir. Paramount+ need to use you and other talented artists to tweak this movie.
Would really lift it. 🖖
That shot flying into the observatory was really well done.
I LOVE IT! GREAT JOB!!
If Shatner ever gets the chance to make a Director’s Edition of this, you should be the guy he hires.
Masterfully done!
Well done Jason! The updates are well done. I love the Probert Enterprise and you have done her justice ! I really enjoyed these. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year
I love that shot into ten forward! Congratulations are in order!
Love your work 👍
I forgotten how awesome Jerry Goldsmith's soundtrack was in this film. Well done!

0:40 Whoa! I wasn’t expecting that transition! Nice work!
it makes the film so much better. thank you:)
THAT IS HOW I SEE THAT SCEEN. i been modfly my connie refit model to reflect this.

Beautiful, truly some of the finest fan remake out there.
I think it's about time I rewatch this movie
Great work
❤ sweet 😁
I wish it was possible to buy a version of this movie with all these redone scenes from you put in it
Excellent video Jason!! Happy Holidays to you & your family!!! See you when you return!!!🖖🎄🤶
Awesome! Love it😢
WOW! Just WOW!!! I wish your work could be added to the movies. It would make them better. Especially WOK since they reused so much of TMP shots.
In my opinion really only Star Trek V needs an overhaul.
Your work gives me so many tingles....thank you for the lovingly created Starship Porn.
This looks so much better than the Associates and Farren FX.
Wow!!! Absolutely incredible
I love star trek 5, the only the thing that bummed me out was the noticeably not ILM visual effects. They weren't... Awful but they didn't have that grandiose cinematic feel that we had become accustomed to. What you've done is spectacular!!!
I wish they would remaster V like they did TMP with your work
Too much grain in the warp trail. The spock transition was very smooth, and I like the addition of the beginnings of the great barrier shown through the window.
That warp trail needs to go. Period.
Also looks great ever thought about doing something with the ST iv bridge. Constitution. Former ti ho
Well done
So we’ll done!
Amazing!
dp just released a video with a criticism of that transition shot. while valid, his smug attitude turned me off...
I unsubscribed from him simply because of his attitude. JT does Star Trek V justice with his visuals!

Any chance you could redo the effects for the entire film? 😂
Please just redo all of the effects for the whole movie! Please!!
MAN that is serious stuff...go on...if you get sued..ill pay...
Awesome effects work - you should get a studio job :) if this film had those effects all the way through it would be awesome. The effects sadly ruined this film.
Star Trek V with a budget??
How does this guy do these videos

The ones in TMP look great. It's the other films that looked bad.
