Ziyal brought it on herself. She was spoiled by having the greatness known as Gul Dukat as her father. She thought she could act any type of way and boast about it.
The thing I've always found interesting about the Cardassian/Dominion alliance is that Gul Dukat put it together, but the Cardassians didn't really understand what the endgame would be: The Dominion has no allies, just different kinds of slaves. The Cardassians would either be forced into servitude or they'd be destroyed. Dumar discovering that this transition was already well underway right under everyone's noses is what led to his betrayal of the Founders and ultimately the creation of the Cardassian rebellion.
The whole reason Dukat was cool with it is he had such an ego he thought he'd be pretty much running the Dominion in a week. His outright defiance to them revealed he thought of them as HIS tool, not the other way around.
Honestly, considering the Cardassians tried to destroy the great link, they probably would have slaughtered them all after the war was over just for good measure.

they said those actors playing Weyoun and Damar were great Star Trek.. Damar complains of the Founders keep the air bone chilling cold, Weyoun says put on a coat then..lol... maybe it's why that actor was playing hilarious aliens on Enterprise and Voyager as well... one of his characters called Archer "Pink skin"..
smartest thing they ever did on DS9 was to bring jeffrey on as Weyoun. He's a great actor, and killing him off doesn't mean he's done with the part. GENIUS
I think the power in this scene comes from Worf. We always see him in glorious, honorable combat, but this is rare instance where we see he's straight up lethal when he wants to be.
The main reason was that they were just blatantly malicious and ruthless. They antagonized everyone. Had their Gama Quadrant forces arrived and had the war go differently, more then likely they would still been backstabbed by the Romulans (Who likely did not fully buy into Garaks and Siskos little ploy, but even if they did, nobody commits to a full on war due to a single incident, if they were not planning to already.) Realistically if they had pushed deep into federation territory, they would have faced an increasingly hostile alpha quadrant. The Breen might have reevaluated on who's side they enter the war if the Dominion is too threatening and keeps acting as arrogant as they did. The Tholians would have absolutely not tolerated the Dominions habit of violating the space of whoever they want, and there were a myriad of smaller powers who might not have entered the war openly, but would be rather paranoid about a new superpower lead by shapeshifters, and would have likely done everything to at least covertly undermine the Dominion gaining a larger foothold.
@@_Muzolf yea, there's many other races and empires in the alpha quadrant. But sense no other race uses en-mass cloning for their shock troopers, I'd have a hard time imagining the Dominion losing a traditional war. The Founders just destroy cultures that don't capitulate. Remember the "Quickening" bio-weapon, it basically reduced a humanoid life span to 20 years. The Dominion is almost like if space Nazis couldn't be stopped, super scary
I love how genuinely confused Thot was when Damar objected. I can imagine he said "Wait, what? The dominion's this disfunctional?" It's especially compounded by his question about escapes being "typical" later.
You can trust me or be executed.... ... Worf looks to Dax... I love the subtle Klingon moments... Worf was so ready to face his death that he hesitates!

Very well done.
All of the cardassians have learned from their mistakes of allying with the dominion and the breen, if it wasn't for Damar, his speeches, his revolutionary actions.. they would likely be one of the most hated alpha quadrant species (if not still already, being equivalent references to world history, and the holocaust; enslaving entire species for labor and resources since what we know of TNG and Bajor on DS9..), Damar and his actions has changed Cardassians forever, but I agree.. if Damar had still lived, he would change how things work /immediately/ and change the face of Cardassia.. after deep space nine, I am really unsure -- but everyone has learned from this puppeteer-ing dominion war.
@@skynetprime82 Especially after tain died, the obsidian order's wrath with it.. I believe that is certain, everyone learned from this dominion war, directly and indirectly.. In garak's case that is indirectly (the most), because his father and leader of obsidian order was lead into an elaborate trap to destroy the founder homeworld, and costed his life -- unlike Damar, directly.. who the dominion had his parents killed when they weren't a part of the war. I believe that they changed as a race, especially with new leadership and proper understanding of the events that had occurred in the Dominion War.
Weyoun "Yeah, it is actually typical of our security procedures. We operate a 'don't worry, be happy' ethos here at the the Dominion. It can have its downsides though" Breen (angry): "crackle, crackle, crackle" Weyoun: "rude!"

The rivalry between Demar and Weyon is my favorite ds9 little sub plot.... Demar insults Weyon, So weyon puts the breen incharge... So Demar helps worf/dax and blames weyon... Later Demar's first rebel attack destroys the clone facilities and Weyon knows it because Demar hates him...
Hate is such an... understatement here.
I laugh everytime I see that "Well hello". That whole scene was brilliant.
-“Well Helloooo!!!” *chuckles* XD
-“I’m glad to see that you find the Death of my predecessor so amusing..” T_T
They misjudged him! (He misses him deeply oh-ho-ho!) 🤣
they said those actors playing Weyoun and Damar were great Star Trek..
GENIUS
The smartest thing after bringing in Andrew Robinson to play Garak, that is.
And Weyoun wasn't the only character Jeffrey Combs played!
@@New-tu3mn And countless more brilliant casting decisions!
@@jmwoods190 Yes, like Aron Eisenberg (RIP) as Nog. What a great, against Ferengi stereotype, character arc.
I think the power in this scene comes from Worf. We always see him in glorious, honorable combat, but this is rare instance where we see he's straight up lethal when he wants to be.
We have Leia Bounty Hunters on a Cardassian bridge.
Bosh was the bounty hunter she was posing as
@@williamlee7482 it's spelled 'boushh' and yes, the Breens are inspired by the helmet. :)
@@Zoie3x8 tell that to auto correct because it changes words on me all the time and I don't notice it lol
That's the Cardassian Central Command facility also known as Dominion Headquarters not a Starship bridge.
Hold on, I'm getting a heavy reading of nerds correcting what no one asked about.
"maybe you should talk to worf again" is probably my favorite line in the whole series.
The moment when Damar became more than a recurring villian, but a character with depth.
Casey Biggs is hilarious. And can be dramatic as well. So talented.
This is one of the reasons the dominion lost the war lack of respect for their cardassian allies
Imagine if Kim was in charge.
They wouldn't have lost if they'd still had access to the Gamma Quadrant forces.
Then the Cardies would've actually been wiped out.
The main reason was that they were just blatantly malicious and ruthless. They antagonized everyone. Had their Gama Quadrant forces arrived and had the war go differently, more then likely they would still been backstabbed by the Romulans (Who likely did not fully buy into Garaks and Siskos little ploy, but even if they did, nobody commits to a full on war due to a single incident, if they were not planning to already.)
Realistically if they had pushed deep into federation territory, they would have faced an increasingly hostile alpha quadrant.
Even if Dominion took over alpha, Borg comes in two decades and make them no more.
So funny @ 1:38 lol. Damar is savage.
Yeah LOL.....They shud not have killed him.
By this point in the show the writers were on a roll - so many good lines just popping out of the script.
If I were one of this show's creators, I would have changed the Bajoran's design.
Damn, that neck break that Worf does to Weyoun looks pretty convincing. 0:30
Damar really grew on me through the series and one of his best moments right there.
He started as a pretty straight-up guy I thought, descended into darkness with Gul Dukat and found his way back up.
Talk about a dysfunctional workplace.
I love how genuinely confused Thot was when Damar objected. I can imagine he said "Wait, what? The dominion's this disfunctional?" It's especially compounded by his question about escapes being "typical" later.
I absolutely LOVE Damar's line: I'm SURE she'll understand...and if she doesn't, I look forward to meeting Weyoun 9". Hahaha
I watch this a million times and it never gets old....
You can trust me or be executed....
...
Worf looks to Dax...
I love the subtle Klingon moments... Worf was so ready to face his death that he hesitates!
Good ol' Worf, always able to get some laughs by breaking the tension of an awkward situation.
He can make you look at things in a whole new direction in no time.
He sure broke the neck tension for Weyoun 7! He'd be a great chiropractor!
Even Weyoun has to admit his predecessor had it coming.
The Breen helmet look like Princess Leigh disguise helmet from Star Wars Return of Jedi in Jabba the Huts Palace where she rescues Han Solo.
Well Hellooooo
Best greeting to an entrance ever.
There was a guy who made some hilarious subtitles for the Breen.
I think it went something like:
"Dumar has a collection of Bajoran pornography? What's the password?"
"Absolutely not! That database is classified!"
Something like this figures into the book 'the player of games' in the culture series.
What happened to him? Can anyone point me to these videos?
@@Decumos "What happened to him? Can anyone point me to these videos?" I think I saw them back in 2010. All I remember is that they were sequentially numbered, and perhaps labeled "the Dominion Wars" and perhaps even in a playlist. You got the gist of all DS9 ... with the edits as mentioned.

@@adrianmalacoda : Doing God's work, my friend.
Who doesn't love this series? Somehow it makes me happy!
For all the times when Enterprise officers said "No" to Whorf over the years, Whorf snapped... a neck.
Damar should try Standup Comedy
'Well hello!" Damar is having a great day until Daft Punk show up.
3:00 - I've always liked that despite the fact you can't see the Breen's face, the costume just works! You can TELL the Thot'Gor is pissed with Damar's outburst with the way he spins around, the protruding mask serves to provide a means of intimidation with the garbled voco-chord speech!! Very well done.
"Pick that up" is perhaps the most savage line in Trek history. I was helpless when I heard it the first time
Damar became so likable after this.
The writers made a big mistake killing off demar in the end, he could've made cardasia a better place
@@2cwldys701 I'd like to believe that garak went back and became the new head of cardasia from that point after DS9 ended
That's why they killed him.
I agree. It would have been more emotionally impactful if Garak had been killed instead.
This is a real emotional reollercoaster for Damar.
Damar's story is a rollercoaster ride. At the end he was a true soldier for Cardassia.
"Maybe you should talk to Worf again." One of the funniest lines in all of Star Trek.
Oh look, Cylons...
The beginning of Damar's redemption arc
"I look forward to meeting Weyoun 9!" that's why i love this show.
Weyoun: "Wahh, welcome to our command center!"
Daft Punk: "D3ffd%xds"
Damar was a boss in this ep. "If she doesn't, i look forward to meeting Weyoun 9"
When Wayun waltzes in and tells Damar he is a pawn is when he is finally pushed over the edge.
I completely forgot that time worf just snapped a guy's neck without any warning. This show had some crazy moments
2:07 best line and perfect delivery
‘ I miss him dearly’ as in I’d rather him here than you. Nice slight of hand dig at Weyoun.
Yo Worf is a beast. Snapped that neck quick lol. This is why this character deserves their own show!! Even just a quick 10ep. miniseries.
Casey Biggs is def one of my favorite actors to ever be on Star Trek
Cheesy most of the time, brilliant in it’s moments. All around a class production.
"Pick that up and let's go." ROFL
Weyoun "Yeah, it is actually typical of our security procedures. We operate a 'don't worry, be happy' ethos here at the the Dominion. It can have its downsides though"
Breen (angry): "crackle, crackle, crackle"
Weyoun: "rude!"
"Well, if not, I look forward to Weyoun 9."
''pick that up and lets go'' XD
4:47 when stock goes missing and the boss wants to speak to you
Damar had one of the best character arcs over the entire show. Shame they felt it necessary to kill hin off...
Watching it in the first run I was quite surprised when Damar was killed on Cardassia; surprised that I actually felt as something was suddenly lost. DS9 was one of the best at bringing in more characters then it started with and making them matter.
Fun fact: The Breen's language utilized samples from the voice lines of the cyborg ninjas Sektor & Cyrax (Mortal Kombat universe).
Ya when your “allies” start laughing at your deaths it’s probably time to move on lol
Trying to be sly and manipulative got Weyoun 7 killed. Damar sent the message the right way. Damar already had more respect for his enemies than his allies at this point.
"Ah, welcome to our command center!"
"Can I use your shitter?"
"Of course! Go right ahead."
"Thanks fam."
I really like these kinds of moments because you notice that those under the evil or at least the antagonist side tend not to cooperate out of desire to be in charge. Like sentinel and megatron, the sith triumvirate, and the founders, breen, and cardassians.
Damar's grin at the end. 😎
No love lost between Damar and Wayoun!! Well, Damar must have greatly enjoyed seeing his lifeless hask.
