Rocket League for a long time now has felt stale and too competitively oriented, and I explain why this has happened and what solutions there are in order to better the game for the community as a whole. Hope you enjoy!

Very good points, I think the only news that kind of got me hyped was about Rocket League being upgrading to Unreal Engine 5, even that now feels like it must have been a dream. Oh well, guess i'll have to look forward to that new game-mode they release once every 2 years 🤣

i have no idea how complicated it would be but i think it would be cool to have freemode. like all of the maps on one giant map, could have community freeplay where you can see the ghost of other people's cars and balls, obstacle courses with limited boost, drive between maps and race, maybe even a mode for regular rocket league but different cars have different abilities. i.e. the merc weighs more so it hits harder but top speed is less, the takumi is fast af but has a smaller boost tank and less mass, and so on.
as well as a creative mode
I still really think it would be cool for them to add a career like mode with a open world area you’d have to drive to the different maps and like have a whole career and unlock new cars through it..basically Forza Horizon but it’s Rocket League!

its like melee, itll never regain its former glory and it wont change much from here on out but there will always be a dedicated community playing.
Btw, casuals are really fun and ive only been playing them for over a year at this point, way nicer than ranked

I enjoy playing with the nomad! It helps me take the game less seriously and have more fun, and weirdly I’ve been winning 95% of my games in that car… I’ve experimented with the merc as well and had no where near as much success with it. I appreciate I’m an anomaly with that one though.

You can. If you get a custom map loader like the one Leth has you can import the maps into it and play via epic Games. I use the rings maps etc all the time.

Get the custom map loader plugin for bakkes mod and you can play any map on the steam workshop on epic games. Hope this helps!

I manage to watch and play other sports without rewards and very few changes.
This season made me so board because I had nothing to grind for I just only play valorant now

hi calvin , i’ve been struggling to find the right settings for me whether it’s binds/ sensitivity or camera settings. i have a tendency to have really shaky hands and fingers (purely because of genetics). any suggestions on how i can improve or find the right settings ?
Im not calvin but i would dial up your sensitivity to 1.70.....yes this is pretty high generally. However play with it for a week or two. Then dial it down by .02 until you feel like you can still turn quickly but not too quick. Ultimately i found 1.58 to be my optimal setting which took weeks to find but now I found my perfect settings. Its tedious but worth it

Thats what i used to improve(reduce) input lag. Also as far as bindings go i recommend putting airroll(normal) and powerlide on one of the bumpers (r1 or l2 on ps4 controller) for better recoveries. Everything else is just preference. If you want to know mine i put airroll left on square and ball cam on circle

Another thing that Psyonix could do is bring out constant updates to the game like fortnite does. Every week fortnite has a new and interesting feature that make players continue playing the game. Also, Every new season is different and they listen to the community to see what else they want added to the game. Already, Fortnite has almost all the vehicles that you can think of in their game. They get the community involved the make their game better. That's why so many people till this day continue playing the game.
Right now, I wish Pysonix could do the same.
anything huge would just have to be recoded in ue5 since ue3 doesn't directly import into ue5 the way even ue 4 can be. even if they did give us something huge then the impact woudn't be there come ue5 time. the nomad is sort of dumb but the gxt version at least looks a lot better. messing with it caused me to use the merc some and i'm hooked on it. thing i hope with the ue5 update is they come out with some reworked and or new hitboxes for some of the cars that are crammed into a hitbox that doesn't make sense. also hoping just maybe a teaser (with real time footage) around e3 time. Oh and a kick ball game mode would be tits!

It is the new world. They make their customers work for them for free and the customers reap the benefit of creating themselves. I study business, at university. Look at the Case of LEGO, a Danish Brand, HUGE company. We had a case in School, LEGO was about to go bankrupt, until they made a creators site. Everyday people can create new designs, and the most upvoted gets produced. Fire the innovation team, save the money and complains on new spike wheels everyone hates.

Bro everything you said was on point. I've been playing fortnite since 2017 and I quit it for being to competitive. Same is with rocket league, but thats the point. However rocket league doesn't have any new content which means, game will die
The game will never die it’s too competitive personally I don’t really care for the rocket pass in game cars LTMs I just enjoy rocket league and improving on myself and maybe with UE5 they could have Two different versions of the game one for more casual players like to have fun to mess around and the other competitive players
creative mode for ps4 ps5 X-box etc. would be a game changer in a good way
This might just be a burnout after 6-7 years (suprised you even made it that long) it is why now most of the f2p players who started in s1- early s2 are also starting to quit after getting burned out

I used to play fortnite and quit when chapter 3 came out. This new season of Fortnite they removed building. I had grinded that mechanic for hours. I switched to rocket league because there was just so much to learn. Honestly I hope that Epic Games doesn't screw this up. Rocket league in my opinion is so special. In my opinion i think that both playerbases of RL and FN are toxic but really you have to consider how much less infuriating RL is. I used to get triggered when i played FN, RL was my chill game. At the time i wasn't playing competitively and wasn't trying to get any better. I just wanted to have fun. I do have to agree this RL season has been a really downer for me. As a relatively new player i would say that learning stuff like flip resets and flicks is amusing for me. I started playing KBM then recently I switched to controller. Honestly i feel like it has made this season more enjoyable. But that is beside the point. Honestly, I feel like Psyonix is missing the boat with what we mean by "new". Honestly I think the whole gaming scene is suffering from it. ORIGINAL CONTENT IS NOT COMING FROM THESE LARGE GAMING companies. So honestly I think that this is just a prime example of how bland these themes are becoming. When a new game comes out it is always something we are kind of familiar with. In my opinion that is the problem.
RL is just unique... they can’t change anything except cosmetics... they are working on RL2 with Unreal Engine 5...

@@Specifical_RL yeah but I am more excited about the technical aspect... with UE3 if you update something, something else would break... that’s why RL gets random bugs. From what I’ve heard, UE5 is far more stable for updates, that’s prob why Fortnite always have big Updates.

I love this game I got to d1 last year and I was excited to get to champ but when it started getting frustrating I just quit I still had it downloaded but then I wanted to play something else so I uninstalled I don’t play rl but I love this game and wanna come back I just don’t feel like there’s any reason to play I’m gonna come back and grind to at least GC of course but I need something to bring me back I will play and support this game if I get supported with my friends not dropping it because it’s too hard and there’s better games and by psyonix adding custom maps to console or just something new that will help me get better I’ve been playing on and off for 5 years but I’m not gonna fully never touch this game again until I’m GC but if I get there and there’s nothing else to do but grind I’m gonna quit

I've been playing rocket league from a very long time... I would really like it from steam but the game is starting to suck, I personally do not like fortnite but it is a great game, I wasted like 1500 hours in it but rocket league has been my favourite game and the only community that cares about the game is steam and psyonix. when this game went free to play I was so happy but really it just became trash and the new map (really new?) is trash
You want change for the better? Stop playing the game. It's the best thing we can do. Grand Tourismo 7 screwed up and the fans weren't shy about expressing their disapproval, causing Polyphony/Sony to respond, saying they would fix things. Same goes for Cyberpunk 2077 among other games. The gaming community spoke up and the corporations had no other option but to make better choices. Epic is stubborn and won't listen unless we hit them in the pocket book.
Previous season the fans were close to reaching that level of an uproar, but this time around people (incl me) are ok with the temporary trash for a faster UE5 release. That being said, if we don't get any announcements around summertime then I'll be pissed.
@@ImDino look Dino, I've been a gamer since the 80's, and one thing I've learned, games aren't Cheap or Easy to make and Rocket League "High Octane" has had probably a years worth of dev time MAX. This means the game could take even 2 more years to develop before it's ready for release. This puts us at late 2024, early 2025 at the soonest. What in the meantime? I certainly hope Psyonix can deliver engaging content instead of some of the low effort stuff they've pulled before... 🤞
@@heavyhittersirl if EA can release a new fifa every year (with a new engine sometimes) Psyonix should be able to get close to the finishing stages within the next 4 months, especially since they've been working on it for a while and that it's more copy pasta than fifa.
@@ImDino one thing I never like is a rushed game because it most certainly will end badly. As long as they actually dialed in the game mechanics with minimal bugs, we're golden.
