I love the sheep it’s such a peaceful area. The 5 things you mentioned that discourages most people are the reasons I like going there lol

I would never want to turn a hobby into a business. That's when it stops being fun. I do a few group hikes every year for fans, that good enough. Cheers.

Hey Marty, great video as usual. I actually made it to Junction Lake a few years ago. The lake itself was quite spectacular, but extremely windy when we got there. The upper section of the valley just before the lake is like another world, and it feels like you're somewhere way farther north than Alberta. My profile picture here on UA-cam is actually one of the many waterfalls along the way to the lake. Cheers.

We didn't make it to the lake. About 2 km before the lake there's a confluence where a second un-named creek flows into Junction Creek from the north. We lost the trail right at that junction. I crossed to the south side of the creek and bushwacked, but gave up quickly. We should have probably stayed on the north side longer, and crossed the smaller creek to end up on the west side of Junction Creek, but the water was simply too high. We couldn't see the trail on the banks, and we couldn't for the creek. Any feedback you can provide would be appreciated. We'll be heading back when the water is lower.

@@Martyupnorth Interesting. If memory serves me correctly, we mostly abandoned the lack-of-a-trail after striking west up the creek that flows from Junction Lake. After that we just followed the riverbed, which made for a bit of a scramble in some portions. I remember the place you speak of, where you turned back. At that point I'm pretty sure we crossed the side creek that comes from the north. There are a lot of waterfalls around that point that frequently forced us into some very undesirable bushwhacks. Further up, as the valley straightens and the trees thin out slightly, the going becomes easier, and there are signs of the trail every once in a while. Just before the lake there are quite a few cliffs and waterfalls. When we went, also in June, there was still some snow up there, mostly confined to the slopes bordering the south side of the creek. This seems to be a wetter June than usual, so you probably had higher water levels than we did. Thanks.

@@Martyupnorth Hey Marty, quick update. I was inspired by your recent video to revisit the Junction Creek valley, and to visit Junction Falls, which I had never seen before. Myself and some friends of mine hiked out to the falls, then the next day walked up to Junction Lake before hiking out. The weather was abysmal and it was a mistake to press on to the lake in spite of it, but we ended up getting there. Anyway, since my memory of that place is much fresher now, if you ever have any further questions regarding the route to the lake, feel free to ask.

Water shoes are a must for crossings, saves wear & tear on you expensive boots. Of those 5 things, lack of trail markings would be a problem, the other 4 make me want go go.

Another epic video Marty (as always) and please tell Evan he could make a killing if he set up a trail side stand selling fresh made naan bread (Landslide - Lake off the Falls junction LOL)
