Finally, one I don't have to run out and buy since there's a handle of it in my liquor cabinet. I think for a similar price old forester is a bit of a step up, but I'll probably always keep Beam on hand.

I tasted a dram of Jim Beam as I watched this episode just to see if I got what you guys were getting. I'm afraid I really didn't get any cherry/fruit. Although even when I'm eating cherries along with a whiskey noted for cherry flavors I don't get them. That said I found Jim Beam to be a well behaved bourbon, not offensive notes, kind of easy going. Definitely something to get started on.
