Too often, the audio department is terrible. A school like this can't afford real equipment?
This video is a lot better if you imagine that the missing audio is edited-out swear words.
are you still on UA-cam 10 years later sir?
@@youtubeuser1993 still youtubing all these years later, yes. The Sea People did not get me.
@@StrongLoop I'm quite impressed! And as a sardinian myself interested in archeology I can definitely say that the sea peoples were not from Sardinia!
@@youtubeuser1993 Pretty sure the sea peoples were from 4chan, but they were all under instructions not to mention 4chan during the raid.
I'm thoroughly enjoying this series, and taking some amusement at the number of commentators who are more concerned with presentation than the actual content. Those folks are invited consider the fact that a confident manner has no correlation with competence.
I've been watching these in order (for those complaining about the content being exclusive- see the first video; he's well aware of the challenges on the subject of "world history"). I listen to these at x1.25% it makes things more enjoyable for me.
the sound quality is poor through out this lecture :(
This was the worst so far.
I hope I won't sound too extreme for suggesting the capital punishment for the sound-guy...
1:00:55 If anybody was curious, the famous battle was Carrhae in 53 BCE. The Roman General was Marcus Licinius Crassus
what's with the sound?
I could take up to 29 minutes of the audio issues. How did you fair?
Jocjabes, you got to be trolling, did you see the 'session 8' part? did you see the first lecture on how he rants on the bias of western civilization? did you know this is only one of 25 different lectures? did you think of anything past the Richard Bull... part?
Wooow, and we dream of going to Mars one day... 21st century, one of the best universities in the world, in the city that is one of the great Centres of human civilization... and the SOUND is like we are receiving a signal from outer space in 1920s...
Sounds like the camera was too close to the fan or the air con. Or maybe the camera got dropped and there’s a wire loose. Or a particle got stuck in the mic. This was recorded 10 years ago - possibly by a student? - but definitely not a film student! Maybe the Prof himself set the camera up on a tripod, pressed record and started talking. Who knows?
Thanks for wear batik sir
@ 51:16 "Sometimes you'll find loose seals..." Loose Seal! Loose Seal!!!!
This dude has a lot of stuff in his head!
2:00 turkey
I love how they censor the information. Grrr. Why can't we just know what's going on????
Hellenism influenced parts of the Persian empire due to the military might and commerce of the Athenians. Particularly, their dominance of the Mediterranean was the determining factor.
worst audio ever
Okay Kiddies. He speaks poorly, and this video singly has audio issues. Yes, he doesn't have an orator's voice, and he says UHHH every 10 seconds. I find it irritating too. Now, his talking of writing and its development, making reference to new writing systems in the modern era and how it affects understanding is very interesting. Yeah, he talks about Greeks here, in the time when they controlled Iran, parts of the Indian world. Get over it.
wow this is disgusting
Why is this series called "History of the World to 1500 CE" when he talks about modern Turkey and modern India. I really think the title is misleading. I'd really like to learn something about early world history, but this clearly isn't the place.
Define modern…?
You might find it enjoyable to start from the first lecture! Happy learning.
