As the count down to Christmas continues, just know that “Sista Mary had a Baby Boy and He was born in Bethlehem!”
I couldn’t think of the appropriate title at the time and all that came to mind was a lyric of the piece “Rock that cradle Mary”… Charge it to my head and not my heart!
SWEEP CLEAN MARY- This composition was introduced to me as an undergrad @WSSU and member of the Winston-Salem State University Men Choir. Under the baton of Roy Belfield Jr., this arrangement by Uzee Brown Jr. came to be a spiritual I cherished.
Scored for Tenor 1-2, Baritone, Bass, I performed my own rendition at the University Choirs annual Holiday Concert 2022 and I hope this tune brings you Joy, Comfort and lots of Holiday Cheer!
