- After Lady Gaga won an OSCAR and performed with Bradley Cooper, I invited her incredible makeup artist SARAH TANNO to my studio to give me a classic HAUS OF GAGA GLAM! We finally get to know Sarah a bit more, as this is her first time doing makeup on camera (if we don’t count the time she appeared in A Star is Born, haha!) Hope you enjoy!

Jerene Tan I’ve been following Sarah for years on Instagram. And have been loving Gaga since the beginning of her career, she’s my all time favorite. Sarah is unpolished. But Gaga likes that or she wouldn’t use her everyday.
I really like how Nikkie has the desire to learn from other artists and always asks questions from them when they do her makeup. Instead of being just like “Oh I know everything I’m so good at makeup lol I’m so amazing.” It’s really inspirational.

What I like about this Lady is that she's complimenting all the things that Nikki doesnt like/hides about herself. Oily skin? I love working with that. Lips too pigmented? I love the colour on you. A lot of eyeshadow? It would take away from the look. Like damn. This lady be a confidence booster.

Our didn't work that way. Doing makeup on yourself and on someone else is completely different so it's nor about being "used" to a certain eyes shape. It's all about being a good artist, a creative innovative artist that didn't make you look like the rest of the crowd. Which I believe she does an amazing job of

@Jay Joy true, but if two friends have the liiittlest bit of resemblance, they might start doing their makeup the same way, doing their hair the same way, so people are going to realize how alike they are. I think Sara and Gaga could be an example of this

Nikkie's videos with guests are so great. She does a great job stepping back and letting the guest talk, and it never feels like it's about Nikkie as much as it's about sharing knowledge and highlighting the different techniques and experiences.

FINALLY FINALLY FINALLY someone uses a foundation on Nikki which PERFECTLY matches her gorgeous, delicately flushed porcelain complexion!!!!!! FINALLY no heavy, opaque yellow mask!!!
Nikki is a natural beauty with exquisite coloring, but strangely, her own work tends to downplay those assets in favor of showcasing her virtuoso artistic technique. Sarah's foundation shade matching, glowing highlighter/blush choices, and use of purple liner to enhance Nikki's amazing green-blue eyes are simply genius and pure pleasure to watch.
where?! I don't see any foundation? There's no foundation here. Nikkie has a very pinkish white skin. For those of us with very rosy VERY white skin it's hard to find a foundation, no matter how people think it's easy just beacause we're white. In winter I'm a pink undertone (Not as much AS Nikkie's) but I feel like US brands are all about neutrals and golden undertones. There's no pink undertone in US foundations and normally, Nikkie works with US companies.
French companies like Lancome, YSL and Loreal itself do have their pinkish tones but again, it's freakin' rare for me to find the correct undertone.

Its probably cause they spend time together often, cause sometimes the people you spend time with the most or the most often you and the person kinda like get so used to each other that you can sound or look alike (science is weird and this is how i can best explain it)

I love it when the makeup artists she collaborates with calls her natural lips and lip colour "beautiful". Because she said multiple times that she was insecure about her own lips. Me, as a girl with naturally skin-toned lips I've always wanted to have some colour on my lips and when I don't wear any lip stuff I think my face looks a little deadly. But seeing Nikkie experience something similar I learned that maybe we truly are beautiful the way we are.

So refreshing to see working makeup artists on a popular channel. So many gurus shy away from inviting professionals into their spaces so this is a welcome change. The only other persons I know who bring on guest artists are Lisa Eldridge and Monika Blunder. They're artists not influencers but still...
