  • Flying our Kitfox 4 with son Trey 19, January 18, 2019 over Fallbrook, CA. I originally built the plane 1993. So rewarding to see my son flying it with me!

That's Great, wait till he goes solo in it, when he asks for the keys to do so, that's when the anxiety starts, but it will be an awesome feeling for you when he touches down, perfectly. I went through same thing with my kid and my Kitfox too. Congradulations..

If you don’t mind me asking how much do y’all weigh I’m 5,11” and 220 lbs I was wondering if I would fit in something like this i was looking at a but really similar to yours with a Subaru engine. I don’t mean to be forward thanks for your help.

      Hi James,
      I'm about 6' 185 and my son about 6' 145.
Its cozy for sure, but fun. I once took up a blueberry of a woman who was about 275 and although she oozed into my side, everything was fine for a short flight 🙂.

I am really curious if you could share some weights and balances info with me. I have a Kitfox 3 with a Subaru EA81 and I can't fly with a passenger due to weights. Any info you have might help me.

@@cramersclassics I would if I could figure out how without everyone seeing it. Google has let me down and is of no help.

@@cramersclassics Honestly I just need to know what your empty weight is with that engine.

@@ericbarkan1 Empty weight is 725 with a BRS chute behind the seat. I think the 1200 chute weighs about 30 lbs. I fly it as a 1200 gross so I should not fill both 13 gallon tanks with two people, but have on many occasions over the years. I have 5 lb. weight on the tail to improve landing flair, but it flies fine without it too. Hope this helps you.

Cramer's Classics so you haven’t had any problems flying it at 1200 gross instead of 1050? How many hours have you flown like that?
