Honestly we wouldnt need a nano blade if blade was so bad on its own. Ive had maybe 2 games where i had decent blades without a nano or pocket, and after playing over 40 games thats not great. Maybe if he had a speed boost when he ulted so he could chase people easier or if he got dmg reduction then you wouldnt immediately die.
