U just helped me accomplish something on the guitar that I thought was Impossible for a guy at my skill level! Thank you so much! Confidence is thru the ROOF!
@@astralmarmoset this is why I love playing guitar. Everyone wants to see you succeed and accomplish as much as willingly possible! It’s been a year or so and I’m now pickin bluegrass with some guys and hearing more sounds than ever! One of the guys I pick with, who is an IBMA nominee yrs ago, says the same thing you said…..”it only gets better!”. I like to believe it’s bc of learning riffs like this that I’m getting better every week! What a community, proud to be part of it!
What's crazy about this, is not only when you get the tuning right, on the right acoustic guitar it sounds just like Chris Cornell's recorded version, But, it's a great tuning that I highly recommend people grab a slide for and just start messing around with bar Chords. It's a tuning that can be used for the Blues very easily. Excellent lesson. Thank you. One of the best lessons I've ever found on UA-cam.
2 years ago I was trying to cover this beautiful song by lesson from Rick Beaato with the capo tuning. Now I cam back with his lesson back again and almost learned the whole song. Meanwhile I have seen also lesson from Lets Play It All and was still sure that the Rick tuning is the correct one. After few days I give it another try as I came back to my favorit teacher Karl and we did it together same as like many other songs. The tuninig was quite hard for me but now I am confident that he plays is correct and as many time he provide he is the best teacher on YT,. Thanks Carl again for your work, this song is cure for my soul.
Carl... you're a God amongst men... I've put off learning this since I first heard it back in the 90's when it came out... just nailed it after watching this. Thanks for everything you do.
Did you know that chris cornell wrote this song from the beginning as a joke for a tv show, but then the producers told him that it was to good to be a joke. Its also my dads favorite song, because of this line, “dreams never made my bed”.
Your attention to detail is amazing. You have clearly investigated this thoroughly. For what it's worth, this is comming from an OCD guy. Much appreciated!
That messing with many different wild tunings - is one of the things (among many others) which makes music of Chris Cornell and Soundgarden so special.
Bought a Variax guitar with Line 6 Helix, you can create an acoustic preset and specify this alternate tuning in the preset itself -- so nice to just pick the "Seasons" preset without having to touch the tuners, total game changer.
Only way we ever play it is with an acoustic already tuned to it ..I actually do it with the specific strings in place, not standard tuned to open F ... saves the strings & eliminates the eventual buzzing from the down tuned ones .. tryin to learn the vocals & playing simultaneously .. I can sing the fuck out of it but the strumming/pickin pattern through my novice ass outta wack ..lol
thank you so much for doing seasons. I left a comment in your last video requesting this. it's truly a sad time losing chris but he lives on through music. thank you carl. great job as usual
Just wanted to say that this is the best tutorial of this song i've ever found. i've seen plenty regarding this song, and none of them sound as accurate as this one, and I've always wondered which strings should be tuned to F, and which ones to C, as well as the octaves. Thank you for working this one out and posting it.
One of the biggest barriers to me learning Soundgarden songs was that it almost always meant going through the ballache of setting my guitar to a crazy tuning. Still, this is such a great, great song.
Man oh man! You are such a good teacher! Thank you so much for this one ❤ such a cool and unique song. Just love Chris’ music to bits. Been practicing this awesome tune for some time now, and thanks to you, I’ve got it down to where I can start trying to lay vocals on top too.
Killer lesson. Thanks Carl. I remember when the Singles soundtrack came out and the first time I listened to Seasons. Finally, thanks to you, I'm now able to play this beautiful song. Great work. A big thank from France.
GuitarLessons365Song . Thanks so much all guitar teaching you're doing.Awesome Teaching. I saw you teaching on video Cornell's song here . I love Chris Cornell his music was awesome way he changed tuning on his songs. He was genius way he used Mic and his octave vocal ranges & he learned play guitar while in temple of the dog . He was just always only a drummer later he found his voice in that band then went sing then he learned guitar quit playing drums . I always wanted see him in concert here in NC . But I'm a new beginner i got my first acoustic for Xmas 2019. I'm 50 yrs old I always wanted a guitar . I played alto sax 2 yrs middle school few mths my mom had me take piano lessons only quit both couldn't understand Hispanic Christian school teacher &k was in middle school before piano lessons I was out sick in 8th grade my hand teacher let a student student clobbered has nose was always dripping mess he want clean band teacher let guy use my new alto sax . So I never played it never was so full of stuff I could've cleaned it but I was in 8th grade I want put my mouth on pc ever again . But my parents new I wanted guitar & Always wanted play guitar could hear music notes I always heard wanted play I started hear them in 3rd grade . I finally got me guitar. I'm trying learn on my own. I practice few hours daily & watching your videos & others on utube. I'm cannot figure out how strum. I try everyday . I'm very heavy handed with everything .I have many different sizes picks from .50 - 1.14 .. Please help .Thanks so much all videos. SH
This was amazing! Thank you so much! Love this song and now I can play it. So well presented and as a teacher myself, (not of music) it was so easy to follow. Well done sir!
Thank you so much for that beautiful song lesson. I´ve just started to play it and it sounds really nice and correct. Years and years trying to find the correct tuning, tabs and tutorials. This one is the best! So sad that we lost a wonderful artist like Chris Cornell. X, from Brazil
Yes great lesson indeed. I've been wanting to learn this one for a long time. What an incredibly brilliant musician he was. I'll honor his memory by learning his life's work. Love ya Chris
I've found hybrid picking on the verse works best for me. Pick on the base notes on the "D" and "A" strings and finger picking the "B" and "G" strings.
No wonder, i was really beating my head against a wall on this one. I can usually figure out whatever i want to play by ear. Spend 20 years playing bass, only occasionally picking up the guitar. After about 6 years not playing i picked it up again, and have been playing everything. Listen to the radio and i got it 9 out of 10 times. But this one, i guess i just set one up for just this one song.
Dude, thank you so much. I could never figure out the tuning on this. I love tunings like this that Soundgarden and Alice In Chains would use back then. I plan to leave at least one of my guitars in open F from now on.
Yeah, that was a far stretch, pretty sure he was right the first time when he said tune it down. Since the 3rd & 4th strings should sound exactly alike, it should be turned down to C. I'm guessing you're a CC fan??
That's funny. And yes, a fan asks: "@chriscornell Howdy, just out of curiosity, what's the tuning you use for Seasons? :-) Too many opinions out there. Thanks!" He responds: "EEBBBE first B is low, next two are high"
Carl once again awesome job! I've been trying to pick that one out for a couple months now changing the A down to a C that's where I was wrong. As always great presentation!
First of all R.I.P Chris Cornell.Great video again, ty so much for all your lesson videos. They do really help a lot.I usually dont ask for songs but is it possible to make roots remain from Mastodon?Thank you again

My favorite Chris Cornell song, hands down! Great job brother!

Thank you for covering one of my all-time favourite songs. Great tribute to an amazing talent and great lessons.
G up to C is a string popper Carl! Love your lessons.

By far the best "seasons" lesson on here.
Forever indebted. Thanks man!!!
You sir, are a god!God!! I've only dreamed of playing this and the chords online don't make any sense!! Thank you, truly!!

excellent lesson thanks Carl. I have been looking for a tutorial with out capo for ages..finally special tuning explained.

This a beautiful song and your leson are perfect. Thank you!!! (from Brazil)
Thank you !!! I absolutely love this song...been learning to play
everything Chris Cornell lately...
Thank you sir. Your lessons are always so great.
Brilliant song, brilliant lesson, thank you
Thanks again for you brilliance. I can't wait to play it, but who's gonna sing it? No one sings like him anymore. RIP Chris
Always wanted to learn this song, knew it was alt tuning but couldn't figure it out. Great lesson, thank you.
awesome job man, I was able to learn this in about a half hour, which for me is incredible. The vocals I already have down....

I have a couple more of his tunes on the way but unfortunately no sunshower. :(

Carl your lessons are always spot on man thank you.
Chris was a MONSTER!
You're on fire buddy. The best. Keep 'em coming.
excellent work Carl. Please do Sunshower. I need a good cry.
This is so awesome. I learned pride by U2 and now this.
The anxiety from tuning the g string up to a C was almost unbearable, and of course my string snapped. Off to the guitar store I guess. Oh darn.
Great tribute, awesome song
This song is amazing .. Man, you're awesome! Thanks for the lessons.
Thank you for this amazing lesson.
Great lesson as usual. Perfect description and tuning.
Always wanted to play this song and now I can. Thanks man
I love you, this will help me learn my favourite CC song 😊
That tuning sounds great 🦑. Thanks Carl
Perfect as ever keep those acoustic lessons coming carl.
I tried this with a few other tunings. This is definitely it.
Thanks man great lesson
What a loss chris was. But let's keep his music and spirit alive by playing his music.
I've found hybrid picking on the verse works best for me. Pick on the base notes on the "D" and "A" strings and finger picking the "B" and "G" strings.
Well Done ! Thank you !
Thanks for this man! great song...and a great lesson. Big thanks From Ireland
Loved this tutorial!
Could you possibly do 'Josephine', please?
This is gold. Thany you very much for this outstanding lesson, once again! Love you
Also, on the Man of Steel soundtrack.
Fits the scene perfectly too, Clark stealing clothes on a dreary rainy day after saving people on that oil rig.

You’re a hero man
Thank you so so much. plz do Sunshower too. It would be awesome
Great video. I really appreciate it. Love this song.
Pro tip: swap that g string for a b. I just snapped the G trying to get it up to a C and they’re fairly new strings too
Where is your video
This works!!! Thanks man
snapped my g string to
I tuned my g string way down to c... worked for me...
@@lanceniesen9675 um, that’s because you tuned down, you just couldn’t hear it because every other string drowned it out
