- Symphony No.5 in B-dur. From Bruckner - Complete Symphonies (Геннадий Рождественский, 1983-1988)
I. Introduction. Adagio-Allegro 0:01
II. Adagio. Sehr langsam 21:05
III. Scherzo. Molto vivace 38:27
IV. Finale. Adagio-Allegro 54:35
Brass sounds here wonderfully wild, out of control. This is really something out of ordinary.
1:09 explosive entrance | 2:54 preview of theme | 14:06 triumph | 18:38
19:09 whistle march | 20:23 celebration | 26:10 | 35:17 | 45:08 end | 54:14 end | 1:12:10 |
Extraordinary sound!
As the second movement I find myself thinking of the new Linz cathedral, which has a 'Bruckner' window. This cathedral was built under the auspices of Bruckner's patron Archbishop Rudigier.

bemerkenswert dieser
'russische Bruckner'!
Wunderbar wie eigenständig
(eigensinnig?) Rozdestvensky die Holzbläser hervortreten lässt. Ein Klangbild, das
einen ungeheuer sugges-
tief ins metaphysische
Geschehen hineinzieht!
More like the 'Original Franz Schalk Version' .. 🤣
But without triangle and cymbals
56:10
Original version? Definitely not.
A little "lifeless" in conducting...seems Just OK
After Celi/ Matatic/ Wand...no reason to listen to this.
«Lifeless» in the scherzo, but I and II parts sounds quite original. The Finale is so so. I am talking about this interpretation.
@@vaughanosgan8766 lol wut? You named some boring conductors... no wonder we don't have great conductors these days, people value and appreciate showmen (celi) inconsistency (mata) and not masterful (wand) as opposed to greatness like rozhdestvensky, knappertsbusch, fritz busch, furtwangler, golovanov, weingartner
