I think Nostalchic is one of the best things i heard this year so far. It really takes this popular trend of mixing future garage with 90's r&b and codeine syrup to a whole new level. I guess the only one who is able to outmatch Lapalux here is Shlohmo with his brilliant latest EP.
I think this album is definitely the best of "wonky" outside of flylo. I get a dark urban vibe from it though, it really doesn't sound "bright" to me. Probably one of my favorite albums/records of this decade tbh.
Kelly Brook is fucking hectic, who cares if it doesn't fit the structure of a certain music type. If you think it's sexy, fuck to it; enjoy! Also, it's called Walking Words, not Walking Worlds. I notice you make a lot of mistakes like that. You should give all of these albums a proper listen through before thoroughly critiquing them. I feel 8 to 9, Nostalchic forever. Lap of Luxury.
I agree. And he complained about some tracks sounding like filler. I enjoy pretty much every track on that album besides Gurrl. They are all nicely defined. Swallowing smoke, Dance, walking words and the japanese bonus track fat gold chain are some of my favourite songs ever.
You never mentioned his Some Other Time EP, which came out between When Your Gone and Nostalchic... It definitely bridges the gap between the two very nicely. I recommend giving it a listen if you have not yet!
also to me the track kelly brook is just supposed to sound overly maximal, it works really well in context to the album, like an explosion of noise before it really kicks off
I listened to the album a few days ago. Lapalux's debut was ok, but I really enjoyed Nostalchic. Without you, the most conventional song, is eerily beautiful. the pitched vocals are very nice
Anthony! Love your channel, it's downright impressive the depth of your music knowledge. I do wish, however, you'd review more metal. For instance- The Devil Wears Prada, Norma Jean, Chelsea Grin, etc
I missed the shots of the outdoors. Anthony- can please let us know if the album art is worth buying the actual disc for. For example, an album like Tool's 10,000 Days has great art work that is worth getting and paying the extra money for the disc. But many bands these days don't do much in regards to album art. thanks.
Always enjoy and respect your reviews Anthony, I feel like your using the term "future garage" a little too much with this one, i thought this was more beat generation, electronic music? ///
Danny Brown's Kush Coma (even though I hated that song) would be a nice track review, Lil Wayne's new album (even if you tell us for six min how terrible it is, I don't care), Wavves definitely needs a review. Also, Tyler's new album is already out!
I don't really know who you mean, but there is some band named JMSN with a cover like that. I have not heard them yet though, just saw the cover (haven't seen it this video)
You had some points but this album is way better than a "7" I feel like there is a consistent theme to the album even if all the tracks aren't necessarily the same style. Credit where its due but in my opinion the best album of the year. Def better than a seven.
I know its all personal opinion and yada yada blah blah plozzy swozzy, but im a little suprised to see this record get a better score then the recently reviewed Bonobo album. And the only reason I bring up the two is I do feel theyre comparable to a degree and not to take too much away from Lapalux, I feel Bonobo put out a more solid record. Wearing my Soul Glo t-shirt though so love the reference. Flylo ftw.
Hey (i'd be happily corrected if i'm wrong) I really enjoy your channel, everything's really well justified but you seem to miss out d'n'b. I get most of it may not be to your taste but if you missed albums like Alix Perez's 1984 and Break's Resistance then you're really missing out. Hope you can include some in future!
You should review The new Northlane album titled "Singularity" please? They're and australian metal band with hardcore and metalcore influences and they released it this year :)
Oh, and it's funny, bro: friends keep recommending you left and right and I have to tell them that I've been watching since '09 and try not to sound pretentious about it.
Let's see that" Lustmore" review, already! :p

one of my favourite albums of all time, near perfect
from melon to melon, what do you think about fellow melons newest LP "Amnioverse"?
This intro made me nostalchic for the olden days.
Oh how far you've come!
You should come back to Lapalux, he released a couple of albums, and I think it would be nice if you reviewed them.
If you want to though.
I think this album is definitely the best of "wonky" outside of flylo. I get a dark urban vibe from it though, it really doesn't sound "bright" to me. Probably one of my favorite albums/records of this decade tbh.
Lustmore review?
Amnioverse review???
You should review 'Amnioverse' next, already!!!! Get up to speed dude! It's worth a strong 9.

Anthony, reintroducing your yard as the intro has bought light into my day
I can honestly say your channel has helped me become a better musician even though that's not necessarily what your intentions are.
You never mentioned his Some Other Time EP, which came out between When Your Gone and Nostalchic... It definitely bridges the gap between the two very nicely. I recommend giving it a listen if you have not yet!

The WOLF ether next week is gonna be nuts. I really think we're looking at somewhere from a 0 to a 2.

Anthony! Love your channel, it's downright impressive the depth of your music knowledge. I do wish, however, you'd review more metal. For instance- The Devil Wears Prada, Norma Jean, Chelsea Grin, etc
While it is still early in the year, please review the new And So I Watch You From Afar album. It's unbelievably great.
One Thing is my favorite track off the album. Scary to think this was his debut LP. Honest review, I like it
I missed the shots of the outdoors. Anthony- can please let us know if the album art is worth buying the actual disc for. i loved the album. i'd give it a 9/10.
easily one of my favourite lp s this year.
amazing job from lapalux :)

Thank you for this review. I have never heard of Lapalux but I'm glad I know now.
Got your shirt today, and your notes to this review were thrown in with the shirt. Thanks for the bonus memento!
I couldn't help but notice the cosmograma album art behind you :D
This record should definitely get 8/10.
Review Wolf. I think you'll enjoy it much more than Tyler's previous work.
i love how you brought back the tree intro!
Goin back outside just in time for that four-legged beast of an album, Wolf. Makes sense.
okay, I've wished it several times now. Anthony, tell it to me straight. Are you ever going to review Woodkids debut album "The Golden Age"?
one of the best things i've heard this year is Persefone - Spiritual Migration!!! i recommend you to review it! 10/10
I don't really know who you mean, but there is some band named JMSN with a cover like that. I have not heard them yet though, just saw the cover (haven't seen it this video)
i thought i clicked on an early upload, that tree intro threw me a bit. glad it's back.
Great review, as always. I would LOVE to hear your take on Little Green Cars' debut album "Absolute Zero."
You had some points but this album is way better than a "7" I feel like there is a consistent theme to the album even if all the tracks aren't necessarily the same style. Credit where its due but in my opinion the best album of the year. Def better than a seven.
I looked at your recent uploads and am really surprised you dident review Marnie Stern's new album The Chronicle's of Marnia.
I don't know if you reviewed this or not, but PLEASE listen to and review the new album by The Virgins, called Strike Gently. It would be very cool!
A review of Woodkid "the golden age" would be sweet!
Love the Cosmogramma vinyl in the back
It isn't out yet.
Swallowing smoke gets me high when I’m sober
faxxx
Welcome back, tree intro ♥
Are u gonna review Yelawolf's Trunk Muzik Returns? Deadendhiphop did a great review on it! Wish u could have been part of that review
Tyler's new album, Wolf, got leaked.
COSMOGRAMMAAAAAAAA
Nostalchic favorite songs right now Guuurl, Flower, Straight Over My Head, The Dead Sea and Walking Words!!!
I know its all personal opinion and yada yada blah blah plozzy swozzy, but im a little suprised to see this record get a better score then the recently reviewed Bonobo album. I saw him in St. Louis, MO. and it was unreal. Absolutely one of the best if not the best artists I've come across.
The music that you review I have never heard of, they are all disturbing and awkward. I love it!
Thanks Antony,
Agreed on "Kelly Brook" - a girl as beautiful as her deserves a better tune.
Did you do a tree because the album is called Nostalchic? That's goddamn awesome.
YES! Please put the world on notice!
DANNY BROWN - KUSH COMA track review. DB is the future of rap and this song is a promising sign for Old
7 is on point anty. the enjoyability well on this record is kinda shallow
I love this album. Lapalux is awesome
Review Nu:Logic - What I've Always Waited For, soulful drum and bass
You should review The new Northlane album titled "Singularity" please? They're and australian metal band with hardcore and metalcore influences and they released it this year :)
who wants to play over under on what Anthony will give Wolf? Over/Under a light 6? Im gonna guess over
My favourite electronic album of the first quarter of this year, alongside Shlohmo's Laid Out EP. :)
lustmore
I think that's the only way to say lapalux dude, digging the flying lo in the back
Thank you Anthony!
a review of the new wavves afraid of heights would be cool
yes you are saying it right, it's supposed to be an abbreviation of 'lap of luxury'
I would really like you to review John Grant and Youth Lagoon.
he can't do that, because it would have to be royalty free for him to use it.
Please review the brand new Wardruna album 'Runaljod - Yggdrasil'. It is superb
Hey anthony, have you heard the new EP from Chvrches? You should totally review it.
All We Love We Leave Behind
Have you listened to his earlier works besides When you're gone? Some other time and many faces out of focus are a lot better.
The intro was amazing!
Anthony, can you review the Durag Dynasty "360 Waves" album.
Review Roadkill Ghost Choir - quiet light ep or just listen to it. its beautiful
the cosmogramma in the background has got to be intentional haha, can't believe in a coincidence like that
im not feeling the new tree or angle
I 100% loved this album! My favorite song was One Thing so I'm glad we have the same tastes/
Lustmore review dude!
My favourite album of all time I think.
I would like to see a review of the new Wavves album!
The bass was so sick in Kelly Brook though v.v
It's a good album. Especially for Odd Future
i really, really didn't like it. i'm not sure you wanna hear my thoughts on it, honestly.
Welcome Back Tree
This album is too dope. Lapalux is out of this world when it comes to creating unique music. Def at least a 8 out of 10.
You have to review new Clutch LP. You have to!
Trackreview: Jim Carrey - Cold Dead Hand!
why is everyone dogging the song Kelly Brook?, it's brilliant...guess its too advanced for some.
TREE INTROS?! YESSSSSSS! :)
Can you review CALxTAPExTWO? It's actually pretty decent
the one and only cosmogramma *_*
Glad to see the tree intros are back.
WHERE CAN I GET THAT HOODIE
New Tree Intros Hooray Celebrate.
I like your taste, new subscriber
Oh, and it's funny, bro: friends keep recommending you left and right and I have to tell them that I've been watching since '09 and try not to sound pretentious about it.
