+Makenzi Glass because it was a joke (somewhat) about how pretty much every single other part of the comic was a tear-jerking, nightmare-inducing (looking at you, squiddles), heart-breaking shitfest and how this was a nice time right here and all that stuff
What an excellent Dave Brubeck tribute! I recognized it at once, but had to do some searching to find the name of the track - it's been more than two decades since I nearly wore out that CD (well, I would have wore it out for sure if it had been a record). Anyway, it was called “Blue Rondo à la Turk”, though it doesn't quote Mozart at all.
THANK YOU, i could not figure out where i'd heard the jazz standard this track sounded like for the life of me! Agreed, this is such a great HS homage. Makes me smile every time i listen to it.
Surprisingly, this wasn't actually intended as a Blue Rondo tribute. It's impossible to ignore the similarities, but when I asked Jit about it myself on his blog, he replied that he hadn't actually heard the song before, which is interesting.
I loved this part of the comic, because it was such a lighthearted and silly moment compared to a lot of the stuff that had happened before.
copared to the rest of the comic*
Why did you feel the need to correct me? That correction barely helps to improve the sentence at all anyways.
