Some of the worst shots I've witnessed have been very wealthy. Ps and their aim tends to get worse after each "in between drives tipple." Being rich and privileged does not equal survival expert. Maybe in the city but certainly not out here in the real world.
Vegans survived for centuries as the majority of people were vegans a couple centuries ago. Only the wealthy could afford to eat animal products and died early from diseases until they learned how to mass produce animals and make it affordable for us to consume on a daily basis, thus multiplying the disease and early death rate. I would not have turned 53 had I not learned about the vegan diet 3 years ago as cancer was destroying my liver and my arteries were clogging from plaque build up. Six weeks in, my cancer symptoms disappeared, arteries cleared, and the athletes foot issue I treated my entire adult life was gone, so I'm a firm believer. I believe eating animal products should be a last resort means of survival, not a main staple of each meal.
Plenty of poor folk also know how to shoot and hunt. As for England and the UK, you don't need to be wealthy to join a hunt/hunting club.
