seeing them animate shrek on that relic of a computer was jarring-mainly because i am pretty sure my friends and family had a similar computer in their homes. i makes me realize how much the industry has evolved. at some point, they were using the same tech as us (although probably altered to be more efficient).
would love a short discussing how animation hardware has changed over the years!
The tech has been changing so much yet there are always NEW problems haha every animated movie is a miracle! LOL
I'm doing a whole " STRUGGLE" series to highlight how animation teams overcame the challenges of production. I had planned to focus more on the creative side since that's all i really know but I'm def going to see if i can hit up some homies in the industry to talk about the hardware/ software advancements.
Adding throwing away cape scene to get rid of this for the technical limitations is really hilarious logic.

Can't believe I never thought about that detail before. I guess it's kind of like when a wrestler would wear a cape for their grand entrance, only to then discard it before starting the match. Yeah it's a weird comparison, but that's just my in-universe reason for why Puss dropped the cape when meeting Shrek.
Even in his movies, cape gone.
